Station Post: The Old Days

MESSIER 69

The station had with stood the Romulan advance and Admiral James Elliott had an ally in the Vulcan ship Selaya and Sub-Commander T'PAS.

With his own ship the SS Bonaventure Elliott maintained regular shipments of ore to the in ward colonies despite the time restraints.

On one rare occasion the Bonaventure itself hauled a payload of needed ore to a colony 2 parsecs away from Messier 69.

A time constraint of 8 weeks there and back even at high warp. Returning to find the Selaya under attack by one Romulan bird of prey.

James Elliott wasted no time as he looked to his helmsman.
" Arm those new photon torpedoes and target that bird of prey."

" They are out manuvering us Sir. Firing anyways."

Helm was right as the rocket shaped Bonaventure was no match for the maneuvering of the bird of prey.

" It's toying with us. Run it down and when you get close enough fire the grappler at it. If we catch it we can fire our lasers at it." Elliott replied.

Chasing the bird of prey like a hound on a hunt the course could clearly be seen that they were running back across the zone.

" If we cross that barrier we will no doubt be out numbered sir."

" Damn it. Let them go." Elliott replied.

" Sir the Selaya is hailing us..we need to answer. "
" Yea you're right. ELLIOTT here."


< M-69 Base >

That night James Elliott and Sub-Commander T'PAS had their evening meal and discussed the defense of the station. The Selaya was being recalled and it would take weeks before another Vulcan ship could arrive.

" I have become fond of you Sub-Commander. You know me so well." joked James.

" You are now longer a nuisance to me Admiral." T'PAS replied.

" So you are leaving me...use. Who is your replacement Shad? James asked.

" Shad would be a sufficient replacement but given the overtures for peace from the Romulans it is entirely possible all Vulcan ships will be returned to inner Federation duties."

" Well damn. Okay then I guess. I wish you great luck in your career SubCommander. " Elliott added.

" Peace and long life Admiral Elliott. " T'PAS nodded and extended her right arm up in a v shape.
