Mission: The Inner Flame
Location: USS Capernaum and Starbase M-69
Timeline: Concurrent

It was ironic that the Capernaum was in port and even more so the return of the USS Wacamaw and Odac Yova stared blazingly at the external sensors to know when it arrived.

The moment he could leve his post he did so and hastingly walked over to the station for the arrival of his beloved Ellie.

Odac had not seen Ellie in months and quickly she still missed him. Being an engineer kept one very busy and he knew Ellie was as a science officer on the starbase

Ellie wasn’t sure if she’d missed Yova’s arrival or not, seeing him there she rushed over greeting him with the biggest cuddle and a romantic kiss, not caring who witnessed it. “Yova! I’ve missed you!!”

" You did? What was you throwing at me," he joked as he gave her lots of hugs and kissed. " I thought being on the Capernaum was a good fit but I was wrong. I am putting in for a transfer as soon as I can back to the station. So tell me about your away mission?"

“It was definitely interesting, we were nearly eaten by some of the natives!” Ellie grinned. “All over stolen eggs, but that’s a story for another time.”

Odac grabbed his wife and held on for a long time as they walked to the promenade. Two tables away sat an older lady who seemingly was waiting on someone.

" Should I ask for my old job back in engineering? I heard it was getting real busy here with the new slipstream drive program added." Odac asked

“That’s entirely up to you” Ellie smiled. “I’ll admit I’d prefer you were here on the station with us.”

TAG Yova

Lyrana walked about the promenade of stores and restaurants but could not quite find anything that interested her. Finding a bench she then sat down and watched, which was her past time. People and their conversations was her hobby.

Hearing a voice Lyrana looked about and saw an image she didn't think she would see. An much younger but similar person passing by.

" Rebecca? Is that you?" Lyrana said to the passing lady.

“I’m sorry?” Ellie offered a polite smile. “I’m afraid you have me mixed up with someone else. I’m Ellie Kees-Odak, this is my husband Yova.”

" You look at lot like her, your mother Rebecca. She is...we were good friends. I am Lyrana, the one you know as Dutchess from the El Dorado. Odak Yova that's Bajoran? "

" Yes I am Bajoran. Welcome to Starbase M-69. Are you here for a while?" Odac asked.

" I suppose. I help people but it seems now I am the one needing assistance. My ride broke down."

“I’m sure we can get you help with that” Ellie smiled. “You said you know my mother? I think I remember her mentioning your name. We were just on our way home would you like to come have dinner with us? There’s plenty to eat and I’d like to get to know you better.”

Lyrana smiled and looked to Odac.

" Thank you perhaps another time. Your young man has missed you. Go and have dinner." Lyrana replied.

But Odac spoke first and said " Please join us. Ellie has very few friends here and meeting and old ....I mean family friend would do us both good."

" You are sweet and yes I am old. Thank you I will join you. " Lyrana said as she wrapped her left arm around Ellie's right arm.

Ellie smiled she knew Yova wanted her to be happy and she would definitely make it up to him later. “We need to swing by the nursery and pick up our children, I’ve missed them so much as well.”

" Why don't I get the children and you and this lady catch up?" Odac replied. Lyrana frowned but she could see he was being nice.

“If you wish my love” Ellie smiled warmly. “We’ll meet you at home.”

Yova smiled and did a dance behind the lady for Ellie's eyes only.

" He is a good man. Your Mother likes him?" Lyrana seemed to ask.

“I haven’t been in contact with mum for a little while” Ellie responded. “Last I heard their ship was heading out to the rim on a deep space assignment, it’s going to be a while before they’re back.”

" What about you. Is your career what you hoped? When you were little you always liked to look under rocks and play with bugs." Lyrana replied.

“I remember that!” Ellie grinned. “I’m an Archaeologist and Anthropologist these days, it’s work I love.”

" There are digs in the Gamma Quadrant that have yet to be discovered child. One day Yova should take your there. Perhaps when he goes home to Bajor someday?: Lyrana replied. " Oh my look at the time I should turn in. I have sat here most of the day."

“Have you thought of speaking to Commodore Sureth or Captain Vehn?” Ellie offered. “Maybe they could find you a position, or a job here on station? It’s something to do, or you could set up your own business.”

" All I am good at is talking and remembering the past. I am El Aurian. But perhaps who knows." Lyrana replied as she hugged Ellie.

“I’m sure someone with your experience could find a good job here” Ellie smiled as she returned the hug. “Give it a try and see what they say.”

" Ellie I will. I could always be your baby sitter? I do love children." Lyrana replied.

As they spoke a most peculiar thing occured as Commodore Sureth walked past their table causing Lyrana to smile at him as they passed.

“By all means” Ellie nodded. “It would be nice to have the extra help as well, being a first time mum to twins is quite the learning curve.”

" Then it is settled. I will be your Nannie." Lyrana replied. " Do you know that Vulcan that just passed the table?"

Ellie nodded. “Yes, that’s Commodore Sureth he’s Commanding Officer of the station. His daughter Isabelle is our Chief Counsellor.”

" He seems nice. Well if I am going to be a Nannie I need to get some rest. I will be at work first thing in the morning." Lyrana said as she stood up.

Ellie nodded. “Thank you Lyrana, I look forward to getting to know you better.”

Lyrana again hugged Ellie and then left.
