[Lounge]

Angel arrived at the Lounge right on time dressed in a pair of dress pants, with a nicely fitting top and black flats along with her long drown wavy hair falling around her shoulders. Walking in she saw Yesrin dressed quite nicely as well. Making her way over to her "Hi Yesrin, how are you" Angel inquired as she sat across the table from her.

"Hi yourself" Yesrin replied with a smile "My, don't you look nice this evening. I took the liberty of ordering us a couple of drinks; hope you don't mind"

Smiling at her compliment "Thanks, I don't mind and you don't look so bad yourself" she replied as they both chuckled lightly "So you ready for a new home soon?"

"Yes, I'm rather excited about a new faster and a little bigger ship. I just hope I don't have to setup a new department all over again; not that I wouldn't of course" Yesrin replied.

"Don't quote me on this, but I believe the Captain has that covered for you while he was talking to the Admiral about the new ship" Angel commented "After all you are his favorite Intelligence person."

"That's not much of a stretch since I am the only intelligence person on board" as they both; laughed at the absurdity of the statements "So do you want to get something to eat while we're at it" Yesrin inquired.

"Well I did ask you out to dinner now didn't I" Angel pointed out as the two Officers went to the replicators for their meals. Returning they sat and started eating as chatted about various things getting to know each other a little better while building a friendship.

After their meal was finished they both grabbed another drink from the replicator then continued their conversations. Finally Yesrin wanted to clear the air between them "Angel you are a very sexy and beautiful woman who I hope will become a good friend" then she paused a moment "But not to mislead you, while I do want to be your friend and hang out together occasionally as just friends you're my superior Officer I wouldn't feel right about having anything romantic between us; I have too much respect for Command and don't want you to jeopardize your career in Star Fleet because of me" she explained hoping Angel wouldn't be too hurt.

Letting out a brief sigh "To be honest I was hoping for a little more than just friends; not that I wouldn't like that of course" then she paused collecting her thoughts "Yes I do want to be a very good friend and would enjoy hanging out once in awhile if only as friends; I can live with that. For the record I think you are as every bit as sexy and beautiful as any woman on this ship" Angel concluded a little hurt but nothing she hadn't gotten over before.

"Thank you Angel for understanding my position and if I misled you I do apologize for any confusion" she replied with a smile "And I certainly want to be your friend as well."

The two friends sat talking while having a couple more drinks for about another hour or so before Yesrin commented "Thank you Angel this has been a lovely evening which I hope we can do again some time but I should be going; I still have a few more things to pack before the new Ship arrives."

"Yes I know the feeling" as she stood "Thank you for having dinner with me and yes I'd like to hang out again some time" Angel replied getting ready to spend yet another evening alone in her quarters.

Entering the Lift Angel knew she had to make a stop along the way home as she called out "Computer Deck 2." Moments later she exited the Lift and walked to a familiar place.

[Maria's Quarters]

Walking up to the room Angel palmed the chime then waited for a response. Maria walked to the door and opened it seeing her friend standing there "Angel what a pleasant surprise...please come in and make yourself comfortable."

Entering "I hope I'm not intruding or anything" Angel inquired then went and sat on the couch "I just needed a friend to talk to at the moment."

"No of course you're not intruding; what are friends for" as Maria chuckled "Would you like some real booze to drink....maybe some wine" she inquired.

"Yes please, some wine would be nice" Angel replied looking forward to something with real alcohol in it.

Walking over with two glasses of wine Maria handed one to Angel then sat "You're not going to blow me into Command for having the wine are you" she asked with a chuckle then sipped her wine trying to lighten Angel's mood.

"Not hardly" Angel replied with a grin "The Captain and I usually talk over our problems with each other but he's off ship at the moment but perhaps another woman's point of view would be better."

"Oh, so I'm your second choice....I see how it is" Maria replied with a laugh "So what's up with you anyway."

"Is there something wrong with me as a person or the way I look" she asked.

"Hell no....you are a vey sexy, beautiful, and caring woman. Shit if you weren't my superior Officer I would have taken a run at you myself a long time ago" Maria stated "It's not you it's your rank that's screwing things up; why are you even asking such a question."

"I was hoping for some sort of relationship with someone on the ship but was shot down for the same reason. So what do I do about the whole rank situation" Angel inquired eager for some sort of solution to her problem.

"The way I see it you have two options, either have occasional sex with the Captain or find someone off ship" Maria suggested "Unfortunately most people know how Star Fleet feels about superior Officers and those under their command having a personal relationship; even though it sucks that's the way it is."

"The whole Captain thing is a no go.....we did discuss it but thought it would not be a good idea for the Ship or her Crew. As far as your second option I did meet a very beautiful woman at a Bar while on the Base; she was interested enough in me to ask me back to her ship but I declined having just met her."

"Can't blame you there, you can't be too careful with someone you've just met. So if you saw her again what would your answer be this time; just out of curiosity" Maria asked with a grin.

"I'd most likely say yes; I mean I could use a good old fashioned romp, if you get my drift" Angel replied with a giggle.

"Yup, been there done that sister" as they both laughed at the absurdity of their current conversation.

Feeling much better now Angel stood "It's getting late and the next few days are going to be busy so I should be going. Thank you Maria for being such a good listener and friend; I do appreciate your humor as well."

"Anytime Angel,,,,you know where to find me. Get some rest before the manure hits the ventilator the next few days". Maria stated with a chuckle.

"Thanks again and have a good night Maria" as Angel turned and left for her quarters.
