Mission: The Inner Flame
Location: Starbase M-69

Captain Kingston wasted no time erecting his work platforms behind Starbase M-69. His automated work bees and integration technologies would be operational in weeks rather than months.

With Sureths blessing Captain Terry Kingston planned to meet with Fleet Captain Rogue Green to discuss utilising the Quantum Slipstream aboard the Capernaum.

Having been informed that Captain Terry Kingston was wanting to speak with her, Captain Ro Green got up from her desk. She was, at most, two weeks away from Yui's birth, and the Little Fox seemed more antsy than ever to get out and see the world. She needed a walk anyway since sitting was, at this stage, not very comfortable. Making her way through the station, Ro arrived at the door for where Captain Kingston was to be found; where the request had come from. She hit the chime and waited, feeling Yui rolling around and using mama's bladder as a trampoline.

" Come in." Kingston greeted see the Captain for the first time. " I wasn't sure if you could come to me or me to you. Either way I'm Terry Kingston Captain of Engineering and overseer of the M-69 Quantum Slipstream Program. Given our distance from the Federation common it is imperative to have a faster than warp program for the Federation. So we are planning to install this on most of the ships affiliated with this station. " Kingston stated as a salesman might do.

Green gave the man a smile as she entered the chamber. "Sounds like a plan, Captain. I agree that we need to upgrade all we have out this way due to distance from any appreciable support other than the Klingons. And, since we're both captains, my name is Ro." She let that go a second before continuing. "What do you need from me to aid your efforts?"

" The Capernaum would be a wonderful ship to have this installed. This system is the difference between a wagon and warp drive." Terry replied.

Green giggled at the analogy. "I'm sure Captain Loewen would much prefer a warp drive. If you're asking to have USS Capernum drydocked for the switch, I approve. I will let Starfleet Command know of the downtime. They're currently on a standard patrol route but having them come home shouldn't be a problem."

" There is no rush and at this point it is a voluntary program. The Peel is using it and also a modified runabout vessel called the Wacamaw . I appreciate your time Captain. It appears you are about to be busy yourself. " Kingston said eluding to the baby.

Her hand on autopilot, Green smiled as she placed it on her extended belly. "Yes, she is due very soon. Thank you for keeping me in the loop on this. Her father serves on Capernum, so calling them home a bit prematurely is fine by me. If you need anything else, Terry, please don't hesitate to contact me."

Terry stood up and watched as the Fleet Captain exited . Resuming his duties there were other ships to consider in other ports for this program.

Leaving the office, Green decided a walk along the Promenade was in order, so she headed that way.

Terry took out his padd and quickly identified 2 more ships of worthness that met with his own criteria for the program. Heading back to his moored platform Terry made the long range calls to lure those ships to his new engineering station.

After her walk through the Promenade, Ro returned to her office and sat down, contacting Starfleet Command and informing them of the upcoming upgrades to USS Capernum. Admiral Stone was informed that she had already agreed to the down time for the starship and all she needed was his approval, which was granted. With it being for a slipstream upgrade the Admiral was all for it. Ro thanked him and ended the call, leaning back and rubbing her belly and Yui.
