Spartan-New Crew

Standing then turning “Good morning Commander and welcome to the Spartan” and so it began with the Crew arriving throughout the rest of the day….all sixty souls.

“Thank you Captain Chase. I’m Commander Amelia Thorn and may I say I’m thrilled to be here and am looking forward to serving under you command Ma’am” she commented pleased to be working with another woman.

“And I with you and since we’ll be working closely together please call me D’Lara when we’re alone; just makes things on a much more personal level.”

“My pleasure D’Lara and please call me Amelia in that case” she responded with a smile. The two Officers chatted for several minutes until they were interrupted.

Seeing another Officer walk onto the Bridge D’Lara handed Amelia a card “Here is your quarters assignment if you’d like to get settled while I meet the Lieutenant.” The XO gave a respectful head nod then turned and left the Bridge.

“Lieutenant welcome” Chase commented with a smile noticing just how large this Klingon was.

“Captain Chase, I am Lieutenant Kang House of T’rin and I’m your Chief of Security/Tactical” Kang responded rather stone faced with a husky voice.

“It’s always good to have a Klingon in that position aboard ship. I look forward to working with you Lieutenant” D’Lara answered before handing Kang his card “This is your quarters assignment if you’d like to get settled. We can talk more at length later on.”

”Thank you Captain and I look forward to keeping the Crew and Ship safe; that is my primary area of responsibility” Kang commented then gave her a respectful head nod before leaving the Bridge for his quarters.

They had no more than finished their conversation when a Vulcan Lieutenant stepped off the Lift. Seeing another Officer D’Lara smiled “Welcome aboard Lieutenant, I see you’re wearing Science blue.”

“That is correct Captain. I am Lieutenant Sa’Vok Science Chief and I will endeavor to do my best at all times” he responded in the usual Vulcan manner.

D’Lara couldn’t help but grin “I’m sure you will Lieutenant” as she handed him a card “This is your quarters assignment if you’d like to get settled. There’ll be time for us to talk later in the week.”

“As you wish Captain” as Sa’Vok turned and made his way to the Lift.

D’Lara was pleased so far with her new Crew and decided to sit in the center chair a few moments to catch her breath. Several minutes later she heard the Lift before standing and turning to see who else was coming aboard.

Two female Officers walked onto the Bridge talking as they approached Chase “Hello ladies and welcome aboard; so who’s who here” the Captain inquired with a smile.

“Hi Captain and thank you for the warm welcome. I’m Lieutenant J.G. Tiffany Dumont your pilot at Helm.

“Very nice to meet you Lieutenant Dumont; so how long have you been piloting” D’Lara asked.

“I’ve been flying shuttles since I was in my teens and have been at Helm since graduating from the Academy Ma’am” Tiffany replied with a smile.

Then the other Officer spoke up “Greetings Captain Chase. I’m Lieutenant J.G. Racheal Reese and I’m your Communications Officer and am fluent in many languages” Racheal commented with a grin.

“Very good Lieutenant a comms officer can never know too many languages” Chase responded “Ok ladies here are your quarters assignments and I look forward to getting to know you better as well as serving with you in the coming months ahead.”

“Thank you Captain and I with you” Tiffany replied.

“Ditto for me Captain Chase” Racheal responded with a smile. Both Officers left for their respective quarters.

Another hour passed and there was one major piece to the puzzle left to report in…..Engineering. The Spartan wasn’t going very far without it’s Engineer taking care of business.

Finally a Lieutenant, probably late thirties, came flying off the lift his hair rather unruly. Trying to catch his breath and talk at the same time “Captain…..Chase.”

D’Lara cut him off “Lieutenant please have a seat and catch your breath for a few moments; you’re making me uneasy watching you trying to breath and talk at the same time.

The Lieutenant did as ordered and sat for a few minutes. When he was composed he stood “Captain Chase thank you. I’m Lieutenant Samual Hawkins; your Chief Engineer. Sorry I’m late Ma’am but my ride was unexpectedly delayed” Samual explained.

“Welcome aboard Lieutenant Hawkins and no need to apologize; you’re not late” Chase responded with a smile “I look forward to serving with you and we’ll be talking more soon” as she handed him his card “This is your quarters assignment so please feel free to get yourself settled while you can.”

Sam grinned “Thank you again Captain and yes I’ll take you up on your offer…it’s been a rather long day” he replied then turned and left the Bridge.

Now that all the major players were aboard D’Lara left the Bridge to get herself at least somewhat settled in her quarters.

Keying in her security code the door swooshed open then D’Lara entered. Looking around the area she was pleased being somewhat large. Being a smaller ship all Senior Officer’s quarters were about the same regardless of rank; which was fine since she didn’t plan on spending all that much time here anyway.

After her quarters were settled D’Lara grabbed a drink form the replicator and sat on the couch. Taking a few sips she smiled “Tomorrow the Crew will start coming together as we have a few meetings” she thought to herself as a smile come across her face…..this was now her Command.
