IT'S A KLINGON THING {CD&Missions}
Location: Kor'Kang Colony
Timeline: Current

Slowly, methodically, Kehlani's eyes began to open, her eyelids fluttering as they took in more light from when her eyes were closed. She moved her left forearm, trying to bring it up so the hand could rub her face, hearing the clanking of restraints. Namely, chains. Lying flat on her back, Kehlani began to open her eyes, squinting at first at the brightness of the illumination within this room. She remembered a battle, and then getting clubbed upside the head by an individual during battle. Her eyes came open, the orbs dancing around at the old-school ceiling slats of a hand built village. Lifting her left arm, looking to her wrist, Kehlani saw that she was, in fact, chained. A tight, yet loose, shackle held the chains in place, and lifting her right arm, she saw the same. Both arms went back to resting on the bed she was in. Using those hands she got to a sitting up position, looking around.
A few meters away were several of the enemy, their heads wrapped in their particular masks, with goggle style eyes. All of them, without exception, looked her way as she groaned and sat up into the corner of her bed. She gave another cursory examination of her chained hands, now realizing that her ankles also had shackles with a chain between them, roughly two feet in length. One of the head-wrapped individuals got to their feet and left the room, the other two far more attentive now to their prisoner/guest, hands near to their weapons on their belts. Since they said nothing, Kehlani said nothing even as she stared them down with venom in her eyes. The door was pushed open and in walked the previous occupant who had left, followed by another. After scrutinizing these beings for the few minutes the other had been gone, Kehlani was pretty sure they were all males. What species, she could not say.
The last one to enter the room, his own head wrap a lighter shade of grey compared to the others, spoke up as they came to stand and look down on their prisoner. "You're awake. Good." This came out in perfect Klingonese, with both dialect and accent done to perfection. "As you can see you are healthy and your unborn child has not been harmed."
"Who are you?!" Kehlani's anger was heard in her words but her eyes showed she was deadly focused. "Be glad these chains hold me back." Kehlani made a sudden move and got to her feet. Chains on her ankles and wrists be damned it was time to stand tall before these criminals. The moment she got to her feet the other three placed their hands on the hilts of their various blades. The 'leader' never made such a move.
"It would be unwise to attack us, Matriarch." The man said calmly. With the goggles over his eyes he knew that any features of himself, whatsoever, were kept from her. His voice, however, he allowed to be heard unhindered. "You would die and so would your child. Instead, I say we speak on things that will put an end to the raids." He made a lazy motion towards the front of her. "There is no need for chains should you choose honor over anger. Agree to hear me out and I will have the chains and shackles removed."
Kehlani stood there listening, and thinking on what was being said. She was still fully clothed, in her leather armor, and had apparently never been touched other than to imprison her. "I will concede to your request. You have the advantage and only a fool fights in a burning house." In a nonchalant move Kehlani held her wrists up, cocking her head in a cynical way. "Show me honor, I will do the same in return."
The shrouded leader gave a nod and then motioned one of his men to step in and do as he had said. Stepping in the man knelt first, removing the chain and shackles from the ankles first, then standing to remove those on the wrists. The moment the man had removed her bindings, his hands full of chains and shackles with no way to defend himself, Kehlani reached out and grabbed the front of his outfit in both her fists, pulling him in as she went forward in a forceful headbutt. Blood immediately showed through the man's shroud at the nose, the stain growing as their was the crunch of cartilege and he stumbled back to land pratfall. The other two guards pulled the mekleths free and were ready to engage, with their leader holding up a hand and giving an order. "Hold!"
Kehlani clapped her hands several times sarcastically, as if ridding them of dust. "There." She said. "Vengeance for my capture has been doled out. Honor must be upheld, right?" She gave a crooked grin to the leader. A grin that held no mirth in it.
The leader gave a nod as his men helped their companion to his feet. They sheathed their blades. He continued to look at Kehlani. "Will that be the last of your fits, or do we chain you again and leave you to rot?"
"I'm done," said Kehlani. ~For now~ she thought to herself. "Not that I am in a position to make demands so, this is a request. I would like a healer to come and do an examination to insure that my child remains healthy."
"No need, Matriarch." The shrouded leader stated. "You were seen to while unconscious and you are in perfect health, as is your child. Your head, like any Klingon, is fine and will heal quickly."
Kehlani, despite herself, found she liked his rather casual attitude. Too bad it would, eventually, lead to his death. "Very well. My weapons?"
"Will be returned to you when we are ready to let you free," The Leader stated. "We are under no illusions that your mate will scour the planet to find you. We will remain hidden enough to heal up and prepare for our next engagement should you and I not come to an agreement."
"Show yourself," Kehlani demanded. "I have nothing to say to a shrouded coward afraid to show his face. Until that happens we have nothing further to discuss." As if expecting that demand the man reached up and began to undo his shroud.
The shroud was a helmet wrapped in cloth, so once a few strips had been moved and loosened, he lifted the whole thing off and handed it over to a subordinate. He was an Imperial Klingon. "Better?"
Kehlani was surprised by his reveal, not expecting a Klingon to be behind the raids with how they had been conducted. She kept her face stoic. "So, does the face have a name?"
"Gorvak, son of Govar."
"Your House?" Kehlani asked.
"I have no House to serve. Our honor," he lifted his arms in an open stance to show he meant all in the room and beyond. "Is our own."
"Very well, Gorvak. Is there food to be had? I am starved." Said Kehlani.
"Right this way," said Gorvak, leading them out the door and into a long hallway. He and Kehlani got in next to each other while the guards followed.
As they strode through the hallways Kehlani let her eyes dance around even as she held her face forward, her gaze taking in everything it could for tactical value. She would hear Gorvak out and see to her grumbling belly while doing so.
