Capernum: Heading Out

Mission: CAPERNUM: {CD&MISSION} On Duty
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

ON:

After meeting up with Loewen and Resch, both Taavis and green ended up going to Club Bliss to relax and say hello to Manny, now the owner/operator, with Taavis listed as the partner. With her re-up in Starfleet there would be no way she could adequately run Bliss and see to her duties. Taavis did find it odd, though. The moment she had donned her uniform again she immediately changed in character. She was now Number One, and as such she was driven to succeed and to see the crew under her succeed. Green had yet to completely settle into her new position as starship CO, and then add to that her responsibilities regarding the Meji, Ro Green was one busy lady. It made her appear unfocused to some, what with her mind all over the place. However, Taavis knew that Ro had everything under control. The woman hardly ever sat back and relaxed, always on the move and collecting information from around the galaxy.

Taavis stepped aboard the USS Capernum, walking passed the sentry post and giving nods of hello. She knew that Captain Green wanted to get moving as soon as possible, and according to the starbase Ops division, all supplies that Capernum needed had already been transported over. That meant that the Capernum crew was now moving cargo around in the cargo bays and making sure that if stacked, they were braced correctly. Making her way through the ship, seeing the hustle of the crew as they prepared for departure, Taavis stayed out of their way as she moved along. A couple minutes later she arrived on the Bridge via the starboard turbolift, seeing her friend, lover, and CO sitting in the center seat reading from a PADD.

"Tactical," Green asked. "has M-69 been informed of our departure and our intent to explore the Rython system?"

"Aye, Captain. Lanes are being cleared as we speak."

Taavis went and sat in her own seat. "Helm, release all docking clamps and retract the gangway. Make sure the external dampener is released. Ease us away when clear, full reverse thrusters to get us away from sixty-nine." All those orders were acknowledged and the Capernum began to move when the orders were fulfilled.

Green spoke up as her face came up to look out the forward window and at the viewscreen overlay. "Steer clear of traffic lanes, Helm. Once we are moving forward accelerate to half impulse to clear the area." The orders were acknowledged and the ship was guided how the CO wanted. Speeding along at half impulse, it did not take long for the USS Capernum to reach the outer markers and cross over the line.

"We are clear of M-69's direct influence, Captain. Orders?" Helm spun halfway to look back with a grin.

"Set course for the Rython system, warp four. Engage when ready." Green ordered. As before, a few moments passed and then Capernum leaped into light speed at warp factor four. Ro leaned back in her chair, a relaxed pose for her that was not a common sight. Her head turned to the right to look at Taavis. "Number One, how long should it take for them to get back to us in regards to the away mission?"

Taavis met the eyes of her Captain with her own gaze, showing she was attentive. "That all depends, Captain. If they make a good show of themselves in their acting roles, they may get a full tour treatment. If not, they'll be asked to leave. Resch knows better than to stick it out when in unfriendly territory. Not that he's afraid of confrontation he just knows the odds of success."

Green's eyes were now wandering around the front section of the Bridge as she spoke further. "It is interesting that the away mission is both Starfleet, and a test of how well Meji and Starfleet can work together. Anyway," Green sat up. "Could you take the conn? I have some meditation I have been needing to get too. It's been a while."

"Of course, Ro. Go ahead."

Saying thanks, Green departed the command deck, heading for her quarters. Visions had been popping up indiscriminately in her mind over the past twenty-four hours. She needed to guide the visions, to focus them in a discernible pattern and go from there.
