Mission: Stellar Problems
Location: M-69
Timeline: Current

ON:

After a steamy shower and hygiene, Ro Green stood in her kitchen area in her suite, her lumbar region leaning back on a counter as she sipped her morning tea. An English breakfast tea she found flavorful and with very little caffeine. She had the habit of placing a hand on her belly, flat, as she stood and thought on her day, and today was no different. The autonomous movements were usually offhand pats to her abdomen, or maybe a slight rubbing without even thinking about it. Then, out of the blue, she felt something unexpected within herself. Setting the tea cup aside she kept the hand on her belly and focused the Force there, sensing the new life within her. The very idea that she was pregnant made her eyes begin to mist up, and as the tears formed she let them fall. It was the most wonderful feeling in the galaxy, especially since she had thought that getting pregnant was an impossibility for her after her twins had been born. She and her lover had tried to have it take after the twins, but it never happened and Green, for that reason, never took birth control. Now, here she was, with child. Knowing she was pregnant was one thing but, for the sake of duty, she had to get checked out. Time to go see Doctor Williams. With no hesitation she exited her quarters and made her way to Medical, stepping inside and glancing around.

Doctor Williams had just finished patching up a male Patient "Next time do not pick a fight with someone twice your size" he stated with a light chuckle.

"Ya, tell me about it Doc" the patient replied with a smirk before exiting the area.

Looking over towards the door, Williams saw a Captain he had not seen in Sick Bay before. Walking over to her "Hello, I am Doctor Williams may I be of service," he stated with a smile.

Damn, thought Green, Been here this whole time and I've never met this man. "Hello Dr. Williams. First," she said, shaking his hand. "I am Fleet Captain Ro Green. I've been here for some time and your approach reminded me we've never met. My apologies for not meeting you sooner." Ro gave a friendly grin.

Ramvek grinned back "Not meeting me before now is not necessarily a bad thing; being healthy is something to be proud of Captain Green...but it is very nice to meet you" he replied "So what can I do for you; that is unless you stopped by just to say hello."

Green smiled. "Maybe next time. But, yes, I need you to confirm if I'm pregnant, for the record. I know I am, but for Medical logs it needs to be confirmed. That, and I have no idea when it happened so that info would be nice to have."

"Alright, I can certainly do that for you and I will be adding notes in your medical file as your pregnancy progresses; also I would like to see you on a regular basis during the course of your term." Williams explained "Hop up on the bio-bed and let me have a look at you" as he removed the scanning device from his pocket and went over Green from head to toe while he had her here. A few minutes later "You seem to be about three months along so think back that length of time."

"Three months?!" Ro was shocked at that, her mind recalling all that had transpired between Kudo and herself. She could not nail down that it was three months ago she had conceived, as they were not intimate at that time. "Are you sure? I mean, of course you are, but...how?" Her nervousness was showing at the news. "I mean, we know HOW it happened but the time is...are you sure?"

Williams looked Green in the eyes and spoke quietly "Please understand what I am about to say to you is under Doctor Patient confidentiality" he stated then continued "I have been a Doctor longer than I care to admit. From the scans I performed they tell me you have been augmented therefore your time of conception until you are full term and ready to deliver your baby will not be the normal nine months" Ramvek explained with certainty "And yes I am very sure; scans do not lie."

"I'm sorry, Doctor. Truly. I was not saying you were trying to deceive." Green's eyes showed she was thinking about several things at once. "I had twins years ago, but they didn't gestate this quickly." She was rubbing her belly, and just now realized that there was a baby bump there. Not large, but definitely a sign of what the Doctor was saying. "You think maybe due to them being twins it kinda, I don't know, caused a more regular gestation?"

Thinking a few moments "I would say that is a very good assumption concerning your previous pregnancy given you was forming two babies at once" then he paused momentarily "But what I can tell you with ninety percent certainty is this pregnancy should go full term in six or seven months from what I have seen so far" Williams stated.

"Wow," said Green. "I gestate like a Klingon." It was an off-hand thought and then she focused back on Ramvek's face. "Thinking out loud, Sorry, Doctor. Is it a boy or a girl?"

With a big smile "I am pleased to inform you, you should be thinking of feminine names when the baby arrives.....it is a girl" Ramvek told Ro seeing the joy come across her face as he spoke.

Ro hopped up off of sitting on the bed and hugged him, eliciting a giggle of joy. Recovering, Green cleared her throat and smoothed out his lapels. "Sorry. Got a little excited at the news. I can't wait to tell her father." Another beaming smile. "Thank you for the confirmation, and yes, I will come back for regular checks, Doctor Williams. Yui and I will need a good family physician."

"That is quite alright; I would be excited as well." Ramvek stated with a grin "You are welcome and my receptionist can set you up with your first follow up visit." then he paused 'Please remember whatever actions you are involved in or take can effect the unborn fetus you are carrying."

Green nodded at him with a friendly smile. "Will do, Doctor. I will be careful. Until our next appointment you have a most excellent day." Riding on cloud nine, Ro turned and walked out of the infirmary, giddy with excitement. Ken's birthday was coming up in a few days and she had some arrangements to make. That, and hearing about his unborn daughter, Yui, would be held off until the night of the birthday party.
