There were only a few days left and the new station would be moved to its new home. But for now three little seats sat filled on the old quaint Starbase M-69 Auxiliary Command.

Lt jg Nic Covenant assumed his role at ops while science and comms were being run by tactical and Lt Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers.

" Commander the McCook has just returned to this sector. The freighters Hahn and Werty have just left for the new system. At their speed they will hit there a week after the projected arrival time of the station. " Nic reported to the acting 2XO.

“Thank you Lieutenant” Kah’lyn nodded and smiled to Nic. “How long before the McCook reaches the station?”

" Five minutes Commander. Is there a problem?" Nic asked.

“Not at all” Kah’lyn smiled excited to have Croesus home.

" Ma'am your husband is hailing." Nic then added

[ This is the MCCOOK. I have incoming prisoners for the station. Security will need to take possession of these prisoners when we dock.] Croesus stated.

“They’ll be there waiting for you Commander” Kah’lyn smiled as she responded. “Welcome home!”

[ Usen'ye] Croesus replied using a Romulan term rather than Klingon. Unlike Klingon the Romulan syntax is much softer and this easily spoken as he was saying I love you.

[ Jol-ao au l'veie ] Kah’lyn returned her husband’s loving words with a simple “I love you too.” She was still learning to use the language of her Romulan heritage but she was getting there.

Cadet Leaf Brol was totally in love as he spied the new Ensign that had just arrived. Being half human and half Brol made him really awkward at trying not to be noticed at watching her . Swallowing his pride Leaf took the leap and walked up to her.

" Ensign you have beautiful...luggage. " Leaf nerdly greeted.

T’Lanna smiled warmly as she was greeted by the most unique individual she’d ever encountered. “Why err… thank you. I’m T’Lanna O’Connell and you are?”

" Brol...I mean Leaf...Leaf Brol. I am a Cadet in Biology Sciences. You're new right?" Leaf struggled.

T’Lanna nodded. “I certainly am, I’m the new Archaeologist and Anthropologist. Plus I’m a nurse too.”

" Good to know in case I feel bad I mean. The synthesizers were just up graded. If you need anything Ensign just ask for Leaf . I run the hydroponic lab and can mix you up a mean salad." Leaf replied.

“Really? I’d love that, thank you.” T’Lanna smiled warmly. “Plus I’d like to learn more about you and your kind.”

" Really that would be awesome. I think I am the last of the Brol." Leaf replied.

“Really?” T’Lanna gave Brol a caring gaze. “That’s so sad, how does your species procreate? If that’s not a rude question. Normally plants flourish by seed dispersal, but I’m not sure how that would work for a sentient species like you.”

" My Pregenator melded with a humanoid and produced me. To my knowledge I am the first of my kind. I am told that the Brol homeworld was destroyed by a race of space spiders. I am humanoid but I also have exotic plant DNA. I can sense plants and some limited kinetic properties. I am technically a sprout or sapling I suppose. But fully functional as a humanoid male." Leaf teased.

T’Lanna grinned. “You were produced by a melding with a humanoid, sounds fascinating. I was reading something about the stations Counsellor briefly partially becoming one of your kind in our science logs. Seems she still possesses a magic touch with plants even though she’s no longer Brol.”

" Ohhh no not a mind meld a Brol humanoid symbiotic joining. I was what is know as a cutting a sprout. Later as I started to grow more of my humanoid DNA kicked in." Leaf replied.

“Fascinating” T’Lanna nodded. “I have so many questions I could ask, but I don’t want to make you feel like a lab rat or anything. Maybe we could meet up in the lounge sometime and you can tell me all about the Brol.”

" That sounds like a ...thing we should do." Leaf replied with a smile.
