Ontario Class Scout/Patrol Ship

Overview

Conceptually the Ontario Class is essentially an oversized runabout.  The idea of having smaller craft assigned to provide limited military support to colonies and starbases where a heavier ship is either impractical or not possible.

The ships themselves are small enough to be classified as a light ship but large enough to carry a single shuttle pod where the ship itself cannot land practically.  These ships typically have a small crew consisting of a four person bridge crew, three engineering personnel and three additional crew such as a medic and two mission specific crew.  The main mission of the Ontario Class is short range patrols, scouting and in system patrol.  Most mission profiles are designed around a 72 to 96 hour mission.

The amenities are mainly around a small quarters or the crew and a basic mess hall/rec room.
