~ New Hope Colony ~

Lieutenant SanChez and Captain Hunt, along with his Marines, materialized on Module 1, Deck 1 as per the given coordinates. Captain Joe Scott the Head of Security was there to meet them when they arrived anxious to see how they could help with some of the unruly security people.

"You must be the people from the Peel" Scott stated with a rather serious look on his face as walked over to greet his guests.

"Captain Scott it's nice to meet you. I'm Lieutenant Maria SanChez Chief Security/Tactical Officer aboard the Peel. This is my counterpart Captain John Hunt, commanding officer of the Marines and his people" Maria replied curious as to why this guy had such a serious look about him.

"Boy, am I glad to see you folks. Whoever put my security teams together didn't have a clue at what it takes to have an effective security teams and my Tactical Rapid Response teams sometimes are pretty much falling over themselves.....I really need help with the current situation" Captain Scott admitted.

"That's why we're here. So where to first" SanChez inquired ready to whip these slackers into shape.

"If you all will follow me we're going to the upper part of the main column; that's where the Security and Tactical areas are located. Minutes later they all were in the security area "So how do you want to approach this" Joe inquired hoping for the best.

Captain Hunt will take most of his Marines and address your Rapid Response Teams while you, myself, and Private Anderson meet with your Security people. At that time I'll go over the fundamentals of security work as a refresher as well as address any other issues" SanChez explained.

Captain Scott paused for a few moments before answering. Letting out a sigh "There is one thing you should be aware of Lieutenant, a few of my people seem to have an issue with authority and sometimes tend to ignore protocols and do their own thing" Joe explained being a little embarrassed even mentioning the situation.

"Oh really? Not when I get finished with them they won't or they'll most likely end up in your Brig; assuming you have such a facility" SanChez stated matter of factly.

Checking the time "My Security people will be assembling in this area shortly and you can hopefully work your magic with them; anything would be better than the way things are currently.

Maria thought for a few moments not really liking the way Joe was coming across to her "Captain may I be blunt?"

"Yes please by all means" Scott replied.

"You are their Commanding Officer so you need to start acting like it.....the one in charge and don't worry about being everyone's friend until you get things back on track.....that's the only way you'll get control back and if a few spend a night or two in the brig then so be it. At least you'll be sending a message of being either your way or the highway" SanChez replied with firmness.

Letting out another sigh "Yes you're right of course.....I guess I need to be more of a dick to get things the way they should be" Joe responded knowing Maria was correct in her assessment of him.

[ Rapid Response Team ]

Captain John Hunt and his Marines entered the Rapid Response area as an Officer looked up "Greetings you must be Captain Hunt, I'm Sergeant McShane C.O. of this group of misfits. Good to have you and your people here" as he extended his hand.

Shaking hands "Sergeant thank you. I understand your people need some help getting organized" Hunt replied with a grin.

"You could say that" as McShane addressed his people "Ok, listen up. This is Captain Hunt and his Marines from thee USS Peel. They're going to be working with us a few days to get us razor sharp so whatever they say goes and you will give them your undivided attention; are we clear." as he heard his people all respond.

Looking back to Hunt "We're all yours."

"Thanks. First off we're here to help and not hinder. We'll be running some exercises to help sharpen your skills so suit up.....full tactical gear as you would for a call. You have ten so let's hop to it" Hunt ordered as there was suddenly a flurry of activity.

Captain Hunt went over their first exercise with the rest of his Marines positioning themselves to observe for now. After about forty thirty minutes Hunt stopped the exercise "Not bad but you all need to keep your formations much tighter while holding your positions. Here let us demonstrate.

The Marines fell in order and went through the same exercise showing exactly what their C.O. was referring to making Hunt proud of his people "See that's what I was referring to....go again" Hunt ordered as the activity continued for about another hour.

[ Security Meeting Room ]

All of the security personal were assembled in the meeting room as Captain Scott made the introductions 'We are fortunate to have Lieutenant Maria SanChez, Chief Security/Tactical Officer from the USS Peel and her associate Private Sarah Anderson a member of the Starfleet Marines. Please give them your undivided attention. They will be going over some security protocols for us to follow to make our jobs more concise" he stated fingers crossed all would go well.

"Thank you Captain Scott. I want to go some things I put into place on the ship which made the Security Department function more professionally" Maria shared as she noticed one of the Crewman talking to his counterpart and not really paying any attention to the matter at hand.

Captain Scott witnessed the same behavior s he stood and in a loud voice "Crewman Hobbs.....please pay attention.....you just may learn something."

Looking up towards his C.O. "Piss off! We're talking here and I doubt she has anything interesting to say anyway" he replied with a cockiness in his voice.

Before Scott could react SanChez tuned "I got this" as she walked towards the Crewman "Ok smart ass, you need to show some respect towards your C.O. as well as my counterpart and myself" Maria stated trying to hold her temper against this idiot.

Standing looking at SanChez "Listen sweetheart if it's respect you're after.....stop by my quarters later and I'll show you all the respect you can handle" he stated with a chuckle while noticing her nicely proportioned figure.

That was it.....Maria grabbed him, spun him around, and shoved him against the wall face first before he knew what hit him then proceed to shove her knee under his crotch pressing her knee against his male parts "You WILL show some respect to your Captain as well as myself. I am a Lieutenant and a Starfleet Officer.....you do not know me to say such things which, by the way, is totally out of line" as she pressed a little harder "And if you can't show some respect maybe I should have some of my Marines teach you some and trust me you won't like it....do you understand Crewman."

Being in a rather compromising position at the moment he had little choice "Yes I understand and will show some respect" he replied starting to feel the effects of her knee.

"Yes what Crewman."

"Yes Lieutenant SanChez; my apologies for my behavior" the Crewman responded.....face pressed against the wall.

Releasing the offender Maria stepped back just in case he decided to try something stupid but instead he sat back down and kept his mouth shut. Meanwhile Private Anderson was at the ready in case Maria needed a hand.....which obviously she didn't and had things well in hand.

Walking back to the front of the room Maria took a deep breath to clear her head as she resumed "Now where was I? Oh yes" as she spent the next hour teaching these security people little things to make them more effective when on duty "What I shared with you won't make any major changes to your routines but these little things will help make your department much more effective in the long run" SanChez stated "Any questions?"

SanChez fielded a few questions from the group and hopefully everyone was now on board with the program Captain Scott wanted "If that's all I'll turn things back over to your Captain" Maria stated as she stood to the side.

"Thank you Lieutenant for your input and knowledge. We will implement these suggested changes tomorrow. If there's nothing else you are dismissed" Captain Scott ordered as the room started to empty out. Walking over to SanChez "My apologies for Hobbs' behavior earlier; he's been a handful lately."

SanChez grinned "Not to worry Captain; I've dealt with that sort of behavior before" as she paused "It wasn't so many years ago I acted out when on duty but I learned respect the hard way; you need to squash his attitude now before he either gets really out of hand or others decide to follow his lead."

Scott grinned "Don't worry Lieutenant he'll be my first order of business tomorrow and he will change his ways or else" he responded with Maria seeing his first bit of determination since she'd met him.

"Sounds good Captain. Now if we're finished here I should go and check to see how the Marines are progressing along with your Rapid Response Team."

"Yes by all means and I'll escort you two there so I can see if any progress has been made" Scott replied as they left the security room. While they walked along Joe inquired "Lieutenant where did you learn hoe to handle yourself like that with Hobbs."

"When I attended Starfleet Academy to train in Security one of the things they taught us was close quarter and to hand combat tactics.....plus I've picked up a few things on my own over the years" Maria replied with a smirk.

[ Rapid Response Team ]

Lieutenant SanChez and company entered the area just as Hunt was finishing up one of the exercises "Captain Hunt how are they coming along" Maria inquired.

Turning recognizing the voice with a smile "Good! They're actually look like they know what they're doing" Hunt replied with a chuckle.

"That's definitely would be an improvement" Captain Scott interjected glad the situation was getting better.

"So SanChez how'd it go with security" Hunt inquired thinking if anyone could change things she could.

"Not bad although I idd have one of the Crewman needing a little extra convincing" Maria answered with a grin.

"The Lieutenant is being modest. Some asshole decided to give her a hard time so SanChez kick his ass threatening to send him down to you for some retraining in respect" Private Anderson explained with a grin.

"I'm sure the Lieutenant had things well in hand" Hunt stated having seen Maria sparring a few times on the ship "Although it would have been fun to straighten the guy out here."

"She was quite impressive how she handled the whole situation I have to say" Scott added.

"Ok, enough about my adventures. Captain Hunt how much more time will you need with these people" Maria inquired.

Thinking a few moments "We've gone over the basics so now all they need to do is keep practicing and with repetition I'm confident they'll greatly improve but it will take some time" Hunt explained before turning to their Captain "Mr. Scott that's where you come in; make sure they continue with their exercises and I think you'll be pleased with the results."

"I certainly can manage that and I will be taking a much more proactive approach to security in general. Thank you both for your willingness to come and work with my staff; you are all very good at what you do" Captain Scott stated in a sincere manner.

"You're welcome Captain Scott; glad we could be of assistance" Maria replied then turned to Hunt "Captain I think we're done here unless you need more time with these people."

"Yes, I'd like to work with them for a couple more hours if you're good with that. Then we'll return to the ship; Private Anderson please stay behind I could use your help" Hunt responded.

"As you wish Sir" Anderson replied.

"Ok then, I'd better get back to the ship and I'll see you when you return later on in the day" Maria replied before walking a distance away then tapped her comm "Peel the is SanChez, one to beam back" as she vanished from sight.
