" The Wrong Moon " Part One

Mission: SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: Starbase M-69
Timeline: Concurrent

Station Log Stardate؛ Supplemental
We are less than a week aboard the new station and several events have occured that should be brought up in a staff meeting. One of which is a mysterious moon that previously was not on the galactic charts.- Sureth.

Sureth went to operations and immediately stopped at Lieutenant Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers Ops officer station.
" Good morning Commander . What is the status of the station?"

“Good Morning Sir” Kah’lyn smiled. “All systems are in good working order, minor glitches only so far but that’s to be expected with all the upgrades we’ve done.”

Devroe walked into OPs to start her shift; something she was getting quite use to since her departure from the Peel. Seeing Sureth and Chiara-Rivers having already started their day she smiled "Good morning Commodore, Commander" she commented in a cheerful voice.

" Good Morning Commander. Night shift made a remarkable discovery. Our planetoid has moved to the extreme gravitational ring of Aurelia. We appear to have a new moon. Lt Commander Croesus, Commander Wallace and our exchange personnel from Miconia Crewman Galen's made the discovery." Sureth replied.

"Really! Looks like this area is just full of surprises; should keep our science people busy for awhile not to mention our Stellar Cartography department trying to map this new moon" Devroe replied rather surprised by the discovery.

David returned to ops after the early morning wake up call, "Cascade is fully outfitted and ready to go, an initial scan does show some small amounts of meteorite and other debris still orbiting the moon I guess we're calling it, it's not often something like this happens."

" Number One do you want to send a team to check it out? If not perhaps Commander Wallace could take the Cascade to investigate?" Sureth decided to ask.

"Perhaps we should send Commander Wallace since he has the Cascade at his disposal; that would be more efficient than sending a Team in a shuttle" Devroe replied leaning into her experience from being on a ship for many years.

"With all of the debris still orbiting this object ..moon ...whatever ..the risks are to massive to send anything not well armored, plus it's a hell of a lot much more comfortable than a shuttlecraft, and much less deadly." David said.

Devroe grinned "Sounds to me like we have a volunteer" she stated trusting his assessment of the situation "We certainly want to keep everyone safe when checking out this moon."

David looked to the CO, "Cascade is ready, all we need is to go order."

" Get it done Commander Wallace. Assemble your crew." Sureth replied.

"Wallace to Cascade...." David said without flinching "Thirty minute alert, load the last of the supplies."

" Sureth to Isabella?" the Commodore hailed.

Isabelle was in her office busy making plans ahead of her possible trip. She tapped her comm badge. “Go ahead father.”

" Commander Wallace is leading an away team to the new moon that we have discovered. Are you available to join that team?" Sureth asked.

Isabelle nodded. “I guess I can be. I just need to be sure that the children will be alright, is John staying onboard?”

" Yes and I am also here. I just thought you might want a break from all of that. You need be prepped snd ready to go as Commander Wallace leaves very soon. " Sureth replied

Isabelle nodded. “I can be ready in short order, I just need a little time to say goodbye to the kids. Take care of them and John for me please.”

"I'll have Ensign Gibson waiting for you at the docking bay three in forty five or so minutes." David said trying to be reasonable while he was sending a text message to the Ensign on a pad.

" Thank you Isabella. Commander Wallace the basis of this mission is to ascertain if there is any illicit intent here. Moons don't just generally appear and set orbit around planets that didn't initially have them." Sureth added

"I'm concerned this is either a Fabrini generation ship or another Darsae archive, neither of which I'd like to contend with." David said "this is not only suspicious but it's extremely concerning."

" Fabrini? This far out? All things are possible but I guess that's why you are going to find out. Do you have enough crew for an away mission if needed? I can spare Lieutenant Foxx from Security if needed." Sureth added

"I'm fairly confident in my tactical officer, this could just turn into nothing more than another stellar phenomena chase." David said.

“No doubt we’ll find out” Isabelle offered with a smile. “I’ll let you know if I feel anything isn’t right.”

David started to walk away, "Why do I have a bad feeling about this."

Outside of the operations door way the dark silhouette known as Ardoo stood prepared to enter.

The arrival of this moon had sparked his attention as well. Tapping the chime Ardoo was greeted by an Ensign and then after getting permission to enter did so.

" I am so sorry but this moon was probably my fault Commodore." Argoo confessed. To prevent the Temporal anomali from reforming here I sort of altered its path. This moon was once a moon of Crestacia. But it was taken away when the anomali last came through here. The anomali has expelled the moon close enough for it to assume orbit of Aurelia. " Ardoo added.

" Is this moon inhabited?" Sureth asked.

" As time dilation is present it is quite possible native Crestacian beings could be down there. If you are going please be careful." Ardoo urged.

" Ardoo we appreciate your intent but tampering with temporal anomalies is not something the Federation can condone." Sureth scowled.

" I did not mean for this to occur. On Crestacia there is an old lore that the moon will one day return to its people. Now that will not happen." Ardoo pouted. " The Overwatch are aware of what I have done.They are working on the dilemma." Ardoo answered.

Hearing the conversation between Sureth and Ardoo, Devroe interjected "The Overwatch should be careful how they approach this situation. The problem with messing with temporal anomalies is that they tend to mess back in ways we can not even imagine or want."

" I am afraid that is my dilemma. I mean well but sometimes this universe has its own reset button." Ardoo replied.

" Dilemma or not Aurelia now has a moon. Commander Wallace proceed to investigate but use extreme caution. The elements and beings on Crestacia are volatile. No doubt it will be the same on that moon." Sureth added.

"Yes please be careful Commander Wallace; unfortunately our larger support ships are otherwise occupied" Commander Devroe stated knowing the Peel was on it's own mission until who knows when.

David just smiled, "I doubt anything will go wrong."

Sureth looked to Commander Devroe and raised an eyebrow.
" The Commander seems very convinced. "

"Yes he does; hopefully he's correct in his assumptions" Devroe replied not thoroughly convinced of Wallace's statement.

Ardoo nodded and left operations glad he had confessed but still upset with the ramifications. Pushing his little hand held box as he walked he immediately vanished into the wherever he goes.

Sureth then walked over to Lt Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers stationnat Ops.

" I hope you are ok with me sending Isabella instead of you? Her deductive Betazoid ability will be an asset to Wallace."

“It’s not a problem Sir” Kah’lyn smiled. “You send who you need to send, I don’t mind being here.”

" Thank you Commander."

< Sickbay>

Ardoo quickly returned from his exit and headed straight for sickbay and his friend Dr Ramvek Williams.

" Doctor Ramvek Williams I desperately need a favor." Ardoo begged.

Looking up from his work "Ardoo, what do you need my friend" Ramvek inquired thinking it must be important by the sounds of Ardor's voice.

" I am about to be convicted by the Overwatch. If I am found guilty and if so all of this will disappear." Ardoo replied.

Not really following his statement "All of what will disappear, I am not following please be more specific" Ramvek replied with some concern for his friend.

" The Overwatch is a temporal entity in opposition to numerous other temporal entities. When I saw this I acted to preserve this Universe the best way I knew how. I found a way to reverse the actions of the corporate societies. But when I did I was labelled a Rebel and extremist. The corporates and Overwatch and even the Time Lords want my head." Ardoo replied.

Thinking for a moment "One thing we do not need is a temporary war with our reality caught in the middle; I rather like things the way they are" as Williams paused with great concern "So what can I do to help you?"

" I need a character witness at my trial. I will turn myself in but I need a friend to vouch for me." Ardoo replied.

"It would be my pleasure to help you out Ardoo; of course I'll have to clear it with the Commodore first but I don't see that being a problem" Williams responded happy to help his friend.

Ardoo half smiled and then nodded.
