The vacation was hardly over but for Warrant Officer John Dallas work began the moment he landed the yacht.

The arrival of a Marine General meant one thing he had hoped to avoid, return to duty as a marine. As he left his wife to answer the call John considered resigning but he would wait to see .

Entering the General's office John stepped to attention.

" At ease Dallas. I am General Liam Shaw the stations new Group Commander. I am recalling all marines on this station in order to build up troop strength and also to fortify the new wing component. I understand you are security and you fly?" Shaw stated.

" Yes.and yes. I served during several campaigns sir."

" Good. Your recall to the marines comes with a promotion Warrant Officer. Effective immediately you are now 2nd Lieutenant John Dallas." Shaw replied.

" A commission? To become a pilot?"

" Yes you will start training everyday. On the simulator until all the craft arrive. I want you to test each one Lieutenant. " Shaw added.

" All sir?"

" Yes one at a time until all my new pilots arrive. Begin tomorrow. Dismissed." Shaw replied.

Saluting the General Deke left his office smiling though the butterflies in his stomach danced everywhere.
