Station Post #3. " General Survey "

Mission: TALES FROM THE MIDDLE STARS
Location: Starbase M-69
Timeline: Concurrent

Receiving his Marines and also the new MK 2 Valkyries made Liam Shaw smile. Arriving with them was Major Haden Mattox.

" General all marines are present and accounted for." Mattox reported.
" Very good Major. Have you seen a Lieutenant Commander Wallace aboard?" Shaw asked.
" No sir I was with the transport."
" Very well those intel types are always watching. See to your marines, formation at 1800 hours. " Shaw replied.
" Sir yes sir." Mattox saluted and left.

Liam then decided to venture through the other side of the station where the other half lived. He needed to see Wallace if only for a minute to deliver a package from Commodore Wallace to his son.

David hadn't been seen much, keeping to himself at times. He was in his office finishing a report up wanting to call it a day, a low buzzer sounded off, "Sir there's marines here." the disembodied voice of a yeoman said.

"Thank you." David said wondering what was going on now.

Liam walked past the Ensign and tapped on the door which slid open.

" David Wallace? I'm General Liam Shaw Group Leader of flight and marine deployment. I hear that you are the eyes and ears of this system. I want you to come work for me."

There was a record scratch moment, "My services are available to anyone in any Starfleet division, how can I help?"

Liam and then took a seat.

" I just had an unscripted meeting with Sureth and his XO about the future of this base. Those two share a brain apparently. I am here to prepare for the Essary threat before 31 gets a foot hold here. To do that I need minute by minute information from Commander." Shaw replied.

David sat back slightly, "The Essary situation is fairly fluid since we seem to be dealing with two separate factions at play, one that's been causing trouble and the other that wants a military stand off with out too many shot being fired."

" My Intel tells me that the command of the Essary is in disarray. A SINGLE player well placed could seize control and unite both factions. Do you agree?" Shaw asked.

David shook his head, "Your data is a year old, out side of those that live on the Eir moon most aren't going to support a conflict with the federation, but they're not happy with the base closer too the boarder, most of the operatives we have are reporting increased defensive posturing, plus some increased weapons smuggling coming into their space to fill out short comings, add in the majority of their ships are not exactly the newest, they're mainly using old Borealis class ships which are a hundred and thirty years old."

" Commander your data is news to my ears. Non the less building up this stations defenses will only strengthen the Federation side of this controversy. I could still use you Wallace. " Shaw replied.

"I am available to help." David replied.

" I would hope for regular reports. We now have a wing group and a full company of Marines for deployment. Major Mattox is in charge of the marines and Captain Rivers has assumed command as Wing Commander. I would prefer a marine but that will have to do. Of we need to deploy we can not wait on the two starships assigned. I will talk to you later perhaps." Shaw replied.

"That's fine, we do have a daily briefing that's rarely read by anyone available on the main computer." Jason remarked

" That's the difference between a Starfleet Officer and a Marine. I will leave you to it Commander." Shaw replied as he exited Wallace office.

Spooks were good at what they did he only hope Wallace played nice.
