Mission:
FINAL JUDGEMENT
Location: M-69
Timeline: current
ON:
Having been on a roving security patrol, leaving his assistant chief to run FC, Lasso had been wandering the station on their pre-determined route. He and the two others he was with had been talking casually and keeping their eyes and ears open for anything that needed their attention. Then, out of nowhere, the red alert klaxon began to sound and they found themselves running for the nearest Security armory locker. One of his companions entered the code and all three stepped within and closed the door behind them. Outside of the locker the muffled sounds of weapons fire began to be heard.
Lasso removed his tunic and tossed it aside, taking up an away team/Security combat vest with web gear. Donning the item he then began to gather needed equipment for it, filling the slots where they belonged, his companions doing the same. Each of them grabbed a rifle with the forward pistol grip variant for better handling in urban combat, attaching the weapons to the web gear on the front of their vests. Should they need to use both hands for any reason, they could let the rifle dangle on the front of themselves and see to that need. Next came the tactical sidearm belt and holster, strapped down at the thigh. The phase pistols were checked by the human gal with them, then handed over as they were fully charged and ready. All three were now set for combat, and with the sounds of battle already underway, they all three agreed that the stun setting was not an option. From what they could hear it was going to be kill or be killed. "We good?" Lasso asked, his eyes going back and forth between the two.
"As good as can be," said the young gent with them. This had been his first posting as a Security officer in the active fleet, and this would be his first altercation with an armed enemy.
The woman on the other hand stood with feet shoulder width apart, her body showing both determination and courage. "Ready." She looked at the younger Ensign, seeing his anxiety. She balled her fist and reached up to pound lightly on his chest with a few hammer blows. "Hey. Stay frosty. Keep your eyes up and your ass down and we'll get through this. Lasso, since Security is your secondary, but you are a department head, I have no choice but to defer to you as squad leader."
"Understood," Gavin responded. "When we step out there onto the Promenade make sure to check your targets. I'm sure we'll know immediately who the enemy is. They never tend to look like us. But, shooting friendlies can ruin your career. Once out there we fight our way to the Infirmary and check on the Doctor and his staff, then we'll decide from there. Agreed?"
Both of his companions nodded. "I use a pistol with my right, but a rifle I favor the left arm hold. So, I'll cover to the right out the door, you cover left, Nichols," Lasso said to the woman. "Reynolds, you watch the rear once we get moving. If we see any fire fights while heading for Sickbay we join in and assist. Do not hesitate. Put your enemy down and move on." He took in a few breaths and breathed them out, preparing his mind and body for the combat to come, seeing his fellows doing the same. Slapping the door release he stepped out cautiously looking to the right, Nichols looking left, with Reynolds coming up behind them and ready to back them up. Seeing no combat near them at this time they began to move further along.
