Station Post #5 New arrivals

The transporter chief had, had a busy morning between transfers to the station and organising cargo beam ins from visiting ships. The latest arrivals were a mother and her daughter, both of whom had arrived to start their new life aboard the Starbase.

“Thank you Chief” Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers smiled as she stepped off the pad. She’d chosen to surprise Croesus, arriving well ahead of the time she said she’d be arriving.

Heading out onto the station promenade she looked around for which way to go, hoping to catch Croesus at home, although chances were he was working.

Croesus had tried to settle in and in between and shift Croesus had tried to reach his wife Kah'lyn but the signal back and forth from Starbase 400 took a long time.

Laying on his bed Croesus took a nap.

Entering their quarters Kah’lyn crept inside with their sleeping daughter in her arms. Looking around she smiled as she walked into the bedroom to find Croesus napping. “Wake up sleepy head” She smiled as she kissed him on the cheek.

Croesus smiled them wiped his eyes.

" Kah’lyn? How are you here?" Croesus surprisingly asked from his sleeping stuper.

Kah’lyn gently placed their daughter down on the bed next to Croesus, doing her best not to wake her. “I am now officially assigned here” she smiled as she sat down beside Croesus. “It seems a certain Captain Callaghan arranged for my transfer here, I have missed you!” She leant in for a loving kiss.

Croesus had missed his wife and child so much as well and the overwhelming issues in his mind had distanced him from both.

" Wow she works fast. I want us to start fresh here. No being the daughter of a ruthless Romulan or a half breed Klingon. Here we can be Croesus and Kah’lyn. "

Kah’lyn nodded. “That we can. I was already enroute here, I tried getting here sooner but this was the earliest I could get. I’m so sorry about your father, I wish I could have gotten to know him better.”

" Dad was a temporal anomaly. Something else. This is a Frontier out here. I could see us liking it here." Croesus replied.

Kah’lyn smiled and nodded. “Definitely! It does have its risks but then all stations do, as do ships. I think I could grow to like it here, it’s as good a place as any to raise a family.”

" We could always take a Earth assignment. I still have dads property." Croesus added. " We need to get to know the natives. Let's venture to the Promenade later ."

Kah’lyn nodded. “That would be nice. As for Earth it’s something to consider for the future. We could always take shoreleave there sometime.”

" That works for me. We both have to report to duty soon as we are now Operations Officers for M-69. Dad told me this was a Frontier now I see why. Literally parsecs away from an active black hole. " Croesus stirred about and said.

Kah’lyn nodded. “We have a little while, We need to see where the childcare facilities are first. I doubt Commodore Sureth would appreciate us bringing Verelan to our first meeting.”

" Speaking of our little girl...she is asleep...and " Croesus smiled a sneaky smile. " We don't technically have to report to duty until tomorrow."

“That’s very true” Kah’lyn nodded and smiled. “We could make up for lost time...”

Croesus smiled as he led his Romulan bride back to the bed room.
