CAPERNUM: Vague 'Feelings'

Mission:
CAPERNUM: {CD&MISSION} On Duty
Location: Dark Harbor
Timeline: Current
ON:
Sean Loewen had returned to the suite after his evening walk and inner reflections. Upon entry he made his way casually over to the wetbar, opening a bottle of Aldeberan whiskey and pouring himself a tumbler of it, neat. Capping the bottle he then took his first sip and gave a sigh. Always delicious. Aldebera knew how to make quality whiskey. Seeing Len looking at him from her place in a reading chair, he gave a nod and a grin. To say they had played romper room in the bed and a few other places was an understatement after the many months of waiting. But, all was back in place since his departure which could only mean that room service had come through and seen to the room. "Hey, love. I'm going to step out on the veranda. The night is warm and the city really is beautiful at night. Cleaner than I expected it would be." He made his way out there, instantly feeling the comfortably cool breeze flowing over his person, with the salty scents of the sea not too far off.
Len watched Sean go outside to enjoy the sights with a smile. She has been enjoying the last couple of days. She closed her eyes and started meditating to organize her thoughts and emotions. After a few minutes she senses feelings that are not her own, contentment with some unease. She opened her eyes and went out to to veranda. "Why do you feel uneasy?"
Sean had sensed Len's approach through the Force, but he did not think much of it since this was THEIR suite and she moved about just as much as he did. However, he could feel her easy-going self begin to feel confused. If they were not lovers he may not have felt such a subtle change, but they were, and that made his abilities much more in-tune with how she was doing. He half turned to look at her, giving a casual grin. "You know me so well." He reached his left hand out, the arm facing her, and waved her in. "I sensed a darkness here, that's all. Just working it out. Do I seek out the darkness which caused tremors in the Force, or do I stick with the mission and find Lieutenant Ainkara first? I can't let personal distractions endanger others who need help."
She went into his arms. She looked up into his eyes, "Did you sense that the darkness is harming others now?"
Loewen gave a subtle shake of the head. "No, I didn't feel that. Just a sudden, powerful surge of darkness, as if such a thing was happening. And, now, I can't sense Resch." His eyes went out and down to the streets below, a section of Dark Harbor that reminded him of the French Quarter in New Orleans. It even had the fake gas-lamp style street lights, and the building were built along those same lines, just with modern materials. Whoever had built this city, they came from numerous backgrounds. "He has either found Ainkara," Sean's eyes came back to Len's. "Or, he's gone into hiding."
Len nodded. "He knows what to do either way. I came out here because I sensed your unease when I was mediating. I have never felt other people's emotions while mediating before."
That piqued Sean's interest. Master Green and Qeritas had both explained to him that the midichlorians were a microscopic lifeform that lived with the cells of sentient beings. They were completely undetectable by mundane means unless one knew exactly what to look for. It had taken generations for them to become noticed by those in the Pallean galaxy. Midichlorians brought forth the use of the Force, and they were completely neutral, caring not for light or dark, just providing. "Curious," he said. "Let's try something. I'll think of something, and when I tap you to go ahead, then you use that Sense of yours to see if you can determine what it is I am seeing in my mind. Or, how close to right you are on the first try." Loewen went through several items in his mind, then settled on 'home', thinking of the USS Capernum. He tapped her arm and waited.
She closed her eyes and focused on the feelings that were not hers. "I don't sense any thoughts, but I sense the feeling of belonging and security." She opens her eyes, "Is it the Capernum?"
Sean gave her a smile. "It is. I thought you would focus on the mental image of the ship, but being who you are, you focused on what it meant. Not a bad thing. Diversity in abilities is what makes the Meji so strong. We all rely on each other for our individual gifts and insights." He leaned in and gave her a kiss, continuing once he pulled back. "You may be experiencing your first steps into a larger universe, Love."
Len nodded, "Is it happening because I have spent most of my time with you?"
"That is highly probable," Sean stated. "My midichlorians and my connection to the Force may have awakened those within you. Making you sensitive to the Force, as well. As we know there are species that have special abilities as it is. Vulcans, Voran, and the like." He gave her a quick hug. "Me being the only one here, it is on me to aid you in this. I'll do my best." He grinned.
She smiled, "I'll learn whatever you can teach me. Where and when do you want to start?"
Loewen gave a chuckle. "Nothing like on the job training. Practice what you have already discovered. Take what you learned from that and focus on streamlining it. Meditation is a big help. Your ability to feel what you did means that the discipline SENSE has reared up first. Being a physician, being empathetic already, it stands to reason. Consider yourself in training, Acolyte Lenore." He grasped her shoulders as a teacher would a favored student, giving a subtle shake to them in congratulations for her discovery.
Len nodded. "Alright. How does Sense work for you?"
Sean's face was still lighthearted for the most part, but now that they had crossed into this line of thinking, he was more serious for that topic. "SENSE, for all of us, is the ability to sense the world around you. To feel things on a whole different level. Malevolence, benevolence, the energy of all life. Sorrow, happiness. You learn to trust your instincts because the Force enhances that instinct, so that you begin to trust your 'feelings'." He let that sink in. "As my lover I am more attuned to your presence than most, so sensing you would be fairly simple. That's why I am concerned for Griffon. He's a friend and I can no longer feel him, as it were."
"I understand why you would be concerned. He would let us know somehow what is going on." Len stated.
"Exactly, Len." Loewen agreed. "His check-in time was forty minutes ago. So, he either found something and can't check in or be discovered, or he is in trouble. However, going to our discussion, I don't feel an urgency on the matter. As if the Force is telling me to not rush into things." He grinned. "That's what you get used to after the Force becomes a constant part of you. Anything detected or undetected has a reason."
Len nodded. "Then we should not rush it." She said as she hugged him.
Sean returned the hug, content to stay at the suite and await word. The neighborhood the hotel was in was fairly quiet and nice, so sitting out here on the veranda/balcony at night had become a ritual. He liked to sit in the open air and meditate. "Let's order room service and stay in until we hear something." He disentangled their arms and stepped free, going into the suite. He unbuckled the equipment belt and set it aside, removing his cloak and laying it over the back of a chair. Being down to his sleeveless leather top he then sat down on the sofa. He did not have to pat the seat next to him. If Len wanted to sit and cuddle then she would. If not, there was plenty of sofa, and either of those was fine by him.
Len sat down next to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek before cuddling him. She closed her eyes and started focusing on her senses.
