Posted on Wed Aug 6th, 2025 @ 4:27pm by Lieutenant Commander Sean Loewen {Meji} & Lieutenant Griffon Resch & Lieutenant JG Jynxza Dahl

Mission: Stellar Problems
Location: USS Capernum
Timeline: Current

ON:

As he had promised, Griffon Resch arrived at the Flight Control Chief's quarters. As he approached he could see that the door was locked open, with several chest sized packing crates stacked out in the corridor against the wall. There were two stacks, a stack on either side of the entryway in the outer hall. Getting closer, ready to walk inside, his eyes saw Jynxza Dahl come out carrying a smaller crate for moving personal items.

"Oh, hey, Commissioner," Jynxza said with a smile, blowing a loose strand of hair away from her left eye and cheek which had come loose from her braids.

Resch smiled at her in greeting. "Hey." His face then gave a quizzical expression. "Commissioner?"

Getting to one of the stacks of crates, Dahl set it atop the others and then turned to look at him. "Yeah, Commissioner. You know, the top cop in most big cities from back in the day. Being Security Chief, that makes you the police Commissioner for the Capernum. "She explained, smiling at the end. Her eyes went cynical even with the mirth within. "Too late, now, though. You ruined the moment by being confused." A quick giggle.

Griffon gave a chuckle. "True. I know the reference it just didn't resonate at the moment. Appreciate the effort, though."

Jynxza laughed. "If you knew me better you would know that me being a smartass takes no effort. But, you're welcome." Using her head to motion towards the inner sanctum of the quarters, she added, "Loewen's inside finishing up his packing." Jynx patted the crates she was next to. "These are his to be moved to XO country," then she pointed to the other stack of crates. "Those are mine to go inside when he is ready."

"Ya know, had you asked..." Resch began to say, offering that he would have helped her too.

"Sometimes a girl just has to do things herself," Dahl replied, the offending strand of blonde hair once more getting blown away from her face. "I don't have much so it's not usually an issue."

Griffon had stopped his movement, standing in place to chat for a few before entering. His eyes went to the stack of three large chest crates she had said were hers, then back to her. "You don't have much? Three chests says otherwise. I use one."

"Not my fault you're boring," Jynxza quipped as she walked passed him back into the cabin, a shit-eating grin on her face. The expression that formed on his face, accepting of her barb with a smile, said it all. He was going to like working with her. With tongue in cheek he followed her inside.

"Griff, thanks for coming, brother." Loewen shook his hand.

Glancing around Resch did not see anyone else but the three of them. "No Len?"

Sean gave a light laugh as he picked up another chest to move outside. "No. The 69 maintenance crews are aboard, and Medical was where a work team was headed. As you can imagine, Len felt the need to hover over them and make sure they didn't poke around where they shouldn't." Resch gave him a smile at that, with Loewen chinning to one more chest. "Will you grab that one?"

"Yeah, no problem." Griffon took up the chest and followed his friend out into the hallway. They set them down next to the others. "I see Dahl is ready for you to vacate. When did she get here?"

Loewen gave a smiling laugh. "Len and I had barely finished breakfast when the chime rang. She answered it and there stood Jynxza. They exchanged pleasantries before Len got the call that Sickbay was on the fix-it, update list. She departed in short time and I got stuck with little Miss Fancy-pants." He gave another laugh as he leaned on the stack of crates.

"Damn, that early?" Resch glanced back towards the locked open door. "She seems to have more energy than a targ in heat. Not a bad thing depending on how it's used."

"Speaking of being in heat," Sean added, getting a raised eyebrow expression from Griff as to where this was going. "She had two ensigns with her, helping to carry her chests for her. Two male ensigns, I might add. I don't know if they're bed buddies, or if they were given a false promise of such, but they were dedicated to helping her move.

Resch did laugh at that. "Hey, use what you got, right? Can't fault her for being creative."

As he said that Jynxza came out the door empty handed, glancing their way before she continued over to her stack of chests. "Okay, you can stop talking about me for now." She never stopped in her movements, never really looked their way but instead, chose to glance their way occasionally as she arranged her crates as to which would go in first.

"What makes you think we were talking about you?" Resch asked, grinning.

"Oh, please," Dahl said, rolling her eyes. "It's two guys and a hot chic. When the hot chic is not around, the guys will talk about her no matter what. It's not rocket science, Griffon, it's Humanoid nature in most cases."

Loewen smiled. "She's not wrong, Griff."

Griffon, not to be outdone in the art of being cheeky. "Okay, makes sense. But, where's the hot chic?" He turned his back to her to show a pseudo lack of interest in her.

Loewen noticed that Jynxza lowered her shoulders in a false display of being upset, her tongue running along the inside of a cheek, adding to the cynical grin on her face. He could not help but laugh. "Cat got your tongue, Jynxza?"

To recover her amount of 'cool', Jynx gave an appropriate response to the feline query. "If it did, that would be one lucky cat."

Both men, caught off guard by that sarcastic response, busted a gut, with Resch turning to look back at the full-of-life Trill. "Okay, that was good. Damn funny," he said, continuing to chuckle.

It did break the ice on the cheeky commentary, and seeing the fellas laughing got Jynxza laughing. "Joy is damn good medicine," she said. "I strive for a dose of it all day long, every day." Picking up a chest, the Trill then went back into the cabin.

"Fireworks in the guise of an attractive female," said Griffon. "Can Capernum handle it?" He gave another chuckle.

Loewen gave a nod to show he found it refreshing. "As Number One, I approve. A happy crew is a crew that scores ship efficiency ribbons. That gets the job done when needed, knowing that once done, relaxing will be just that. Relaxing."

"Touche'." Resch responded.

The three of them working together, they got the moves accomplished, the crates for each officer hauled to, and put within, the proper cabins. When finished moving the chests the three of them went to the ship's lounge for a break, hanging out together while they ate lunch. Jynxza was now, without it being said, a part of Griffon's and Sean's circle of friends. Loewen hoped that Len would understand it and not read anything into it. Not that he was worried.
