Spies Be Damned

Mission:
STELLAR NURSERY
Location: IKS Rokeg
Timeline: Current
ON:
IKS Rokeg plowed through space at one-quarter impulse, her sensors at high intensity at short range as the Klingon Vorral class battlecruiser searched for an anomaly they had detected, yet disappeared from their scopes.
"Report!" Commander Kehlani ordered, not wanting to lose the opportunity to eliminate an enemy. With the Remans having attacked M-69 there was no telling where those ugly targ asses would pop up next. Anyone not sanctioned by the Empire to cross into Klingon space would be dealt with harshly, and by harshly, she meant fatally.
"Still nothing, Lady."
Several colorful Klingon curses were mumbled out under her breath as she exhaled in frustration, chin down as her mind raced for ideas. Pop. Like a light turned on a tactic came to mind she had heard about from conversations with Starfleet officers she knew and trusted. She got up from her command chair and went around the console for the SCI officer, Lt. Commander Behlanna. "Here, sister. Let's try this." Kehlani's hands floated over the console as they tapped keys and set for a specific search style. "Use the sensors to microlens the surrounding stars. Any gravity distortions should be visual. They can cloak their ship and gravity signatures, but they cannot hide the basics of astrophysics."
Behlanna got in next to her CO, Matriarch, and friend, watching what she was doing even as she directed the computer to look for such an anomaly. It would not be easy, but if found it could mean that the anomaly was a cloaked ship. "I shall continue to search with these new parameters, Lady."
Kehlani hated having to use a Starfleet secret for her own good, but Klingons would die dishonorable deaths at the hands of cowards if she did not. What was the worst that could happen? They kick her out of Starfleet? Pfft! She could then focus all her energy on her duty to the Empire and her House. Qapla'! All this passed through her mind even as she returned to pace in front of her command chair, awaiting any hint that the new scan algorithm would work.
Behlanna spoke up even as her eyes came up and an evil grin formed on her face. "HoD! We have a signal bearing two-two-zero mark four."
"MajQa!" Kehlani praised her SCI Chief and First Officer for her efforts before her orders went to the next station. "Helm, bring us about on that heading, nice and casual as if we're still searching. baHwI'." The gunner looked at her. "Prepare to activate weapons at my command. Do not do so until I say. Understood?" There was no mistaking the veiled threat in her tone; muck this up and you will pay for it.
"Understood, HoD."
The forward viewport showed them slowly turning to port and coming around on the new heading. The Helm officer announced they were now on course. Kehlani stood like a warrior confronting an enemy face to face, feet shoulder width apart with hands at her sides balled into fists. "Commander Behlanna, distance to anomaly."
"Twelve thousand kilometers, HoD."
That was just over point blank range for her disruptor cannons. "baHwI', stand ready." Her right hand raised as she waited, the seconds ticking by. "Wait...wait..." The distance closed to 11,900 kilometers. "baH!"
The baHwI' tapped the activation keys and the weapons and defense came to life. Once at full power, a mere for moments, he engaged the vicinity of the gravity distortion. A barrage of high energy disruptor shots and a field of torpedoes set at a wide enough dispersal that at least one would hit something were it within that small space. His calculations had been correct. The bolts of energy seemed to pass by, not hitting anything, with three torpedoes doing the same. One torpedo, however, found a mark and impacted an invisible object, the explosion both direct and satisfying. For a brief moment a silohuette of a Tvaro class bird of prey could be seen before it faded, with only a few moments in shadows before the cloaking device had obviously failed due to the damage to the vessel.
"Rake them!" Khelani cried out. From her vantage point the green disruptor bolts from the cannons reached out and began to impact the smaller vessel, with the beams following to back up that damage from the cannons. Bits and pieces of duranium plating were seen being flung from the hull of the ship as it was rocked repeatedly by each shot. The lights in the small windows on the Reman ship flickered with each shot, meaning they had been knocked down to auxiliary power. "Enough! Hold fire!" The firing ceased. "Demand visual communication!" The comm officer did as instructed.
The viewscreen overlay the forward viewport even as it activated to show the heavily damaged Bridge of the Romulan design of the BoP's Bridge. There were several dead Reman lying around in the background, and two stood before the transmission, both with burns and cuts on their faces as they breathed heavily and stood to face their attackers. "We are not your enemies, Klingon! You gain nothing from from this attack but the hatred of the Reman people!"
"The hatred is mutual, petaQ!" Kehlani responded. "Did the Reman people forget that the Federation is an ally of the Klingon Empire? Did they also forget that hiding in Klingon space to avoid detection by Starfleet is an act of war? That in itself makes you our enemy! Humans have a saying; fuck around and find out. Well, you did just that. But, I am not without mercy. Say what you need to say to your beloved Reman family and people, this is being recorded for our records. We will make sure they receive a copy of your treachery. And I thought Romulans were treacherous."
"We have nothing further to say..."
"baH!" Kehlani interrupted, seeing the cannons and beams lancing out to strike the enemy vessel. The transmission faded as it lost power, then the ship itself exploded from the amount of damage it had sustained even as the warp core breached. "THAT," Kehlani said even as she spun around to look at her Bridge crew with a smile. "Is most satisfying. Qapla'!" She raised a fist and the rest of the Bridge followed her action. Behlanna began a steady pounding of her fist on the console with others hearing the rhythm and following along. As the familiar rhythm went on Kehlani began to sing the old Klingon warriors anthem, her Bridge crew all joining in almost immediately.

[Literal Translation]
Hear! sons of Kahless.
Hear! daughters.
The battle blood perfectly cleans
the warrior who is brave and loyal.
We fight, we're passionate, and we kill perfectly.
Our lives are not long, but they're very bright.
We certainly die honorably, and we join our fathers in the Black Fleet.
There we always really continue fighting.
We won't stop. We continue fighting. We compete.

The IKS Rokeg turned for home even as the crew continued to sing, having rid the galaxy of another Reman vessel.
