Peel - Meeting Of The Minds

After the meeting with the Captain and XO, Lieutenant SanChez wanted to meet with Captain Hunt the Commanding Marine Officer. Maria had been in Marine Country so many times the perception among the other Marines had gone from teasing a non-Marine to one of respect having proven herself on many different occasions.

Entering SanChez heard one of the enlisted "Lieutenant on deck" as the group snapped to attention showing her the respect she so rightfully deserved "As you were Marines" Maria ordered with a grin while continuing to the Captain's Office. Approaching the door Maria tapped on the casing waiting to be recognized by Hunt; not because they were of the same rank but out of respect to a man she had come accustomed to working with.

Looking up from his work John stood out of respect for the Lieutenant "Please come in and have a seat" he stated with a smile always happy to see Maria "So what beings you to Marine Country."

Accepting the offered seat Maria began "As you may have heard we are on our way to a deep space habitat known as New Hope Colony. The Peel has been tasked with helping to bring some of their crew up to speed; apparently the Colonial Governor doesn't feel they've been trained well enough. I've been tasked by Captain O'Connell to help with their Security and their Rapid Response Teams.....that's where you and your Marines come into play" Maria informed Hunt pausing to let the information sink in.

Thinking a moment "So you want the Marines to retrain all these people so they're more effective at their duties" Hunt inquired ready to help where he can.

"Something like that....let me explain further. I would like your Marines to observe and bring the Rapid Response Teams up to speed; just keep in mind these individuals are not Marines. I'll have a couple of my Security assist me but I'd like to borrow Private Anderson then we will take care of the Security people so you can concentrate on the Response Teams" Maria explained hoping to answer the Captain's questions.

"That certainly sounds doable and yes you can borrow Anderson for as long as you need her" then he paused "So what's the timeframe for the retraining" John inquired "Just so I know how quickly to move the training along."

"I won't know exactly until we arrive but I would guess a few days anyway if the Governor wants his people trained decently" San Chez answered "And I'll give you any further details after we arrive and things start to progress."

Hunt smiled "Sounds like a plan Lieutenant and as always I look forward to working with you and your Security Team. I'll have my Marines ready to go when you need us" he responded wishing Maria was open to off duty advances since he was quite taken with this woman.

Standing "Thank you Captain and working together goes both ways; I always appreciate your support. I'll keep you apprised of any new developments as I receive them. I should be going, I still have a few things to attend to before I can call it a day."

"Anytime Lieutenant" John responded before SanChez turned and left his office.

After taking care of a few loose ends with a couple of her staff Maria was finally finished for the day as she entered the Lift "Deck 2" and soon she was on her way home.

Upon returning home Maria jumped into the shower before doing anything else to wash off a very busy day. Between multiple meetings, speaking with a couple people on her Staff, and being in command briefly she was exhausted. Walking out of the shower Maria dried herself off and threw on some comfortable clothes before heading to the replicator for supper.

After she had eaten and cleaned up, Maria sat on the couch with her feet up on the table relaxing "Ah.....that feels so good after the day I've had" she thought to herself. A few minutes later her door chime went off. Rising from the couch she walked to the door wondering who it could be.

Opening the door she saw Sarah standing with a smile on her face looking was cute as ever "Hi sexy, please come in" as Maria stepped back allowing her guest to enter.

Entering Sarah walked up to Maria as she whispered "Hi yourself" then proceeded to give her a kiss "I've been wanting to see you but I know you've been busy so I won't stay long."

"Nonsense. I'm always happy to see my favorite girl. Please sit....would you like a glass of sangria" Maria inquired with a smile.

"Sure" Sarah replied then went and sat on the couch waiting for Maria.

"Handing her a glass of wine Maria sat next to her at an angle so they could talk "So what's up."

Taking a sip of her wine before setting the glass on the table in front of her 'My Captain said you requested me to help you retrain some of the security people on the habitat."

Maria grinned "Guilty as charged" before sipping her wine 'You're good with people and I can use an extra pair of hands" she replied.

"So....is that the only reason you requested my help" as a wry smile came across her face.

"That and It gives me an excuse to have you around while I'm on duty" Maria answered with a smirk.

"Now I get it.....admit it....you just like looking at my bod while I work" Sarah teased with a light chuckle.

Maria slid a little closer "What's not to like baby" she whispered then gave Sarah a passionate kiss before she returned the kiss in kind.

The two very good friends sat and chatted for the next couple of hours with laughs and exchanging the occasional kiss. Finally as hard as she tried the day finally caught up to Maria. Stifling a yawn "Excuse me.....I didn't mean to do that."

Sarah could tell Maria was beat as she stood "I should be going and let you get some rest" she commented with a smile.

"You know you could always spend the night with me" Maria suggested not really thinking clearly.

"As tempting of an offer as that is, you and I both know neither one of us would get much sleep" she replied with a big grin "No it's better I go back to my quarters. Get some rest Maria'" as Sarah gave her a quick kiss.

Grinning back "You know me too well Sarah Anderson....but you're right.....so I'll see you soon" Maria replied knowing Sarah was right about everything.

With a nod she left Maria's and went back to her quarters for a good nights rest.

Immediately Maria called out "Computer lock the door and dim the lights" as she made her way into her bedroom and straight to bed; soon Maria was passed out for the night.
