Mission: SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: Starbase M-69
Timeline: Year 2402

::ON::

After the conversation with Commander Devroe from M-69, Captain Jacobs stood from the Pilot's seat "Commander Thorn the ship's yours until I return."

"Understood Captain and I hope you are able to get some answers" Tiffany responded.

"Ya, that makes two of us" Hank replied then turned to the SCI with his PaDD in hand "SCI Amy please upload the Ship's credentials and those of the Crew to prove we are who we say we are" Hank ordered then an unusual occurrence happened.....Amy just stood there ignoring her superior officer.

Hank couldn't believe what he was seeing "SCI Amy" he stated louder but still no response "SCI Amethyst!"

Looking at her Captain with a smile "Yes Captain?"

"I just acknowledged you a few minutes ago and you ignored me.....that's totally out of character for you....are you feeling alright."

"Yes Captain I'm fine but thank you for asking. What can I do for you Sir" Amethyst replied.

Handing her his PaDD he'd give it another shot "Please upload the Ship's credentials and those of the Crew to prove we are who we say we are" Hank ordered.

Moments later she handed back the device "Here Captain, all set."

"Thank you you're dismissed" Hank ordered as Amethyst vanished from sight. Turning to Tiffany "Did you see what just transpired with Amy" Hank inquired still not believing what just happened.

"Yes I did. While you're at the meeting I will let Ensign Loman know what happened; maybe she should run a diagnostic considering what we just went through" Thorn suggested.

"Good idea and have the Ensign talk with Amethyst while she's at it but do not take her offline just yet; we may need her now more than ever" Hank ordered.

"As you wish Captain. By the way you should probably get a move on....you don't want to be late to this very important meeting."

"No I don't.....I'll be back as soon as I can" Hank replied then left for the aft hatch.

Exiting the hatch Hank saw four good sized Security officers waiting by the back of the ship "Captain please come with us" a Lieutenant stated, two security led the way with Jacobs in the middle and two more following as Hank was thinking "At least they take security seriously."

Several minutes later they walk up to the First Officer's door which was open. Knocking on the doorjamb "Ma'am Captain Jacobs is here to see you" the Lieutenant stated.

Angel looked towards the door seeing a grey haired man somewhere in his forties standing tall with his hands clasped behind his back "Please Captain come in and have a seat" Looking at security "Please wait outside and close the door on your way out."

The Lieutenant looked at the XO "Ma'am with respect do you think that's wise" he inquired.

"Thank you for your concern Lieutenant but I'm sure I'll be just fine with the Captain" Devroe replied while letting the Lieutenant know nicely not to question her orders. Moments later "My apologies Captain but security has been beefed up around here as of late. Can I offer you something to drink?"

"Thank you no, I'm fine" Hank responded with a smile.

"Ok" as Devroe sat "Let me contact the Commodore and let him know you're here....I'm sure he'd like to be here for this meeting." Tapping her comm badge "Commodore please come to the XO's office at your earliest convenience."

"So we seem to have a bit of a situation here but we can get into that as soon as the Boss walks in" Angel stated with a smile "Have you been in this part of the galaxy long?"

Looking for the right words to say Hank grinned "No not really....you might say we've just arrived a short time ago."

Sureth had been dealing with another issue returned to see Commander Devroe and her visitor.

" Report Number One? "

Standing out of respect Angel began "Commodore Sureth this is Captain Hank Jacobs, Commanding Officer of the USS Dresden. There seems to be an issue Sir....his ship and registry number does not show up on any of our databases. Hopefully this meeting will clear up the situation."

Standing as well out of respect for a superior officer Hank extended his hand "Commodore Sureth it's a pleasure to meet you Sir" Jacobs stated with a smile.

" And you as well Captain. The Dresden you say. What class of ship is the Dresden Captain?" Sureth asked.

"It's one of the new Crimson Class ships Commodore" Hank responded eager to get the conversation back on track.

" I am intrigued however I will need more details? Were you stationed in this sector?" Sureth asked.

Thinking on how he should answer Hank knew it was time to come clean "Not that I'm aware of Sir" as he paused taking a breath "What I'm about to share with you may seem a bit, how should I put this, farfetched but I can assure you as a Starfleet Officer I'm telling you the absolute truth" as he paused for a moment "We were on patrol near the Cardassian Union border when my Science Officer noticed an anomaly some distance away but the next thing we knew it was upon us in a matter of minutes. The ship's Computer advised us to take our power source and place it on standby using our reserves to reinforce our shields if we wanted to live. The Dresden entered what could only be described as a temporal wormhole. Some twenty minutes later it spit us out about two lighter years from this base. Two hours ago we were in the year 2452 and what I desperately need to know is....what's the current year presently" Hank concluded looking first to the XO then the Commodore.

Waiting for the Commodore's reaction to Captain Jacobs, Angel knew there was one way to find out if he was either an expert liar or if indeed was was telling the truth. She rarely did this but this was important as she cleared her mind then reached out with her Betazoid powers....not to pry into his mind but to get a sense of his honesty. Allowing this to happen for only a few seconds Angel realized the Captain was telling the absolute truth....she found no deception in him whatsoever.

" The year is 2402 Captain Jacobs. I do believe you. This area is full of anomalies. In fact we just inherited a large moon that should not be here were in not for another temporal anomaly. " Sureth replied.

Letting out a long sigh Hank replied "That certainly explains your uniforms and tech; the last time I saw like what I've seen here was in a museum back home" as he paused a moment "We did drop a marker at the exact spot that we came through into your timeline so my hope is that the anomaly reopens so we can get back to our own timeline."

Devroe interjected "Do you think that's even possible" she inquired not wanting to make things sound worse than they already were, then continued "If you need anything while you're here....supplies or what have you please don't hesitate to ask.

"We should be good for awhile. Just before we encountered the anomaly, thankfully we resupplied at Starbase 112 so we'll be good for at least the next year but thank you Commander for the offer and I'll certainly keep that in mind" Hank replied with a smile.

" Captain given the circumstances I think you should remain aboard the Dresden. I will have Captain Kingston clear a mooring for your ship. " Sureth replied.

"Thank you Commodore and you as well Commander" as Hank stood "Now I have to go back to the Dresden and inform my crew of our meeting" he responded before turning to Sureth thinking he should start following protocol while in this timeline "Sir if I may be dismissed."

" Agreed."

Giving a respectful nod Hank tapped his com badge "Dresden this is the Captain, I'm ready to return and assemble the Crew in the Lounge" came the request followed by an order as Hank disappeared in a stream of violet light.

Sureth then looked to Commander Devroe
" Number One we need to look into this situation. "

Standing "As you wish Commodore; I get the Science Department on it straight away" Devroe replied knowing who she would get to investigate Sureth's request.
