Mission:
SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: M-69
Timeline: Current
ON:
Yui had piloted the Quazi-moto to the docking bay she needed, stopped and spun around, and then reversed into the bay. Making sure to use the pilot-assist, she never came close to rubbing against anything important, nor smashing into objects. Once the ship was settled on its landing struts, the three catgirls began the post flight shutdown of all systems while Kami had piloted the X-wing into the bay, spun around for nose out, and landed to the side and out of the way of the larger transport.
Standing back out of the landing area, Captain Ro Kudo waited patiently, wearing her Meji robes and donning the dark brown hooded cloak with the hood laying back and off her head. She was excited to see her daughter after all these months but, relying on her Control through the Force, was able to not become overly giddy. Qeritas had visited a few times during Yui's absence, the Q who had been a lifelong friend and mentor to Ro for a great portion of her career and life. But, Ro pushed that thinking aside and simply waited for her daughter to come down the ramp that was now opening and descending to the deckplates beneath the ship. Casually walking forward, Ro came to a stop three meters from the base of the ramp, hands clasped across her front in a serene pose. The airlock hatch at the top of the ramp gave a sudden woosh of air and then slid up and out of the way, revealing a woman with cat ears, a tail waving back and forth, but hard to see due to the bright light behind her. She began to walk down the ramp almost cautiously, followed by two more women with the same basic physical characteristics.
Yui, being nervous about her mother finally seeing her final metamorphosis, took in a breath of courage to calm herself and face the moment. With measured steps she decended the ramp, all three girls still wearing their kunoichi body suits and clothing. She knew Cait and Sally were right behind her but her focus was on her mother. Descending the ramp, taking the final step onto the deck plates, Yui stopped and met her mothers gaze. She saw mama's eyes dance all over her features before they came back to her face to look her in the eye; a smile breaking out on her face. "Mother, I can explain everyth..."
"Later," Ro said, stepping in quickly and wrapping her arms around her only child, holding tight and rubbing the young woman's back and caressing the back of her head. "Later, baby. Just...just relax." Ro could feel Yui's body relax before her arms came up and gripped her mother in a fierce, loving hug, burying her face in her mother's neck. Ro felt her body shaking as she released a few sobs even as she got herself under control. Then, out of nowhere, Ro could here and feel a purring coming from within Yui which caused her to giggle and pull her daughter back to look her in the eye. "Are you purring?" She asked with a big smile and a giggle.
Embarrassed a bit, Yui swiped her tears away with her tail. "Yeah," she said with a silly giggle and smile. "You're my Mama, and being held close just-ya know-brought it out."
"Gimme more, baby." Ro hugged her again, giggling, looking over Yui's shoulder at the two other Catfolk standing back looking a tad uncomfortable.
Yui got herself arranged and spun to stand next to her mother and look at the other two. "I'm good right now, Mama. Thank you for not finding me...repulsive."
"My stupid, stupid child," Ro said with a smile. "I would never find you repulsive. I see Yui despite her having new ears and a tail. I see the face and body I gave birth to. In here," she tapped Yui's chest over her heart. "That's Yui. My Yui." Ro then looked to the two fidgeting females who had stood quietly and watched the reunion of mother and child. "So, daughter, who are these two lovely ladies?"
Yui, having recovered fully, focused on her companions. "This lovely pink kitten is Caitriss Zethra, Matron of the Celestial Bloom and leader of all clergy within the Quazi Concordium. The Purple doll is her second. High Cleric Salwah Amir. Affectionately, they are known by most as Cait and Sally, and they are my best friends to the point of being sisterly." Both women bowed to Ro and gave their respectful greetings to the mother of the Chosen One.
Ro was holding Yui's hand in her left down by their sides, so her right arm came up and she used her fingers to wave in the two. "Come on, then. No reason to be left out." Cait and Sally exchanged a look of surprise, then acceded to the request gladly. A huddle of hugs ensued for a minute or so before they all got themselves back to normal. "There. My thanks for you two looking after my daughter. Welcome to Starbase M-69."
Both the felines had been looking around even before they went in for cuddles. Cait had to ask. "Is it always this 'cold'?"
"Cold?" Ro scrunched ber brow a bit. "Is the temperature not to your liking?"
"No, mother, that's not what she means," Yui explained. "Cold, as in drab and too mechanical in appearance. No comfortable aesthetics in all spaces."
Sally spoke up to add in. "The Quazi Concordium is very cozy, warm, and comforting. Plants in almost all spaces, sofa loungers, soft lighting in various colors, Captain. Almost all spaces are done up in white or ivory, an alabaster nuance. All of which is trimmed in brass, bronze and gold, as well as, natural wood decor."
"Not to mention that a great many spaces also have jacuzzi pools and waterways that citizens can swim in at their leisure. Jacuzzi tubs are placed in appropriate spaces unless it's a lounge area for all." Yui explained. "There are even waterfalls from one level to the next, all of it exquisite and meant to relax the denizens when not seeing to their duties. Quaza, and the Quazi people have never fought wars amongst themselves, and any disputes are settled through honorable combat, and never to the death. This is not to say they are weak, or not well-trained." Raising her hand she pointed over at her X-wing. "That is a brand new fighter, and the backbone of fleet tactics." Yui squeezed her mom's hand. "The Quazi Concordium is very much like that far away place you once visited. Which, we can discuss later."
Cait and Sally glanced at each other, curious as to what that meant, but let it go for now. Ro took a minute to contact transporter operations and have the belongings of the girls beamed to their VIP suites. Yui was glad to see her mother wearing her Meji garb again. At some point she was hoping her mother would tire of all this Starfleet business and really get the Meji Order moving. The Mejilore archapelago awaited her on Quaza, the Meji temple there built in her honor at the behest of Yui. Chancellor Barnephous Zethra, Cait's father Barney, had been all too happy to give the directives to have it built. There were already Catfolk living there, people who saw the Meji way of life as something they wished to pursue. The Mejiloreans were a robust sect of Quazi society and trained daily in their martial and combat skills when not living off the land and taking part in meditation. Mejilore was sub-tropical, beautiful, and warm, surrounded by an ocean teeming with life.
The group got moving, with Ro pointing out various areas of the Promenade as they went. She did note that Cait, Sally, and yui were like giggling high school girls a lot of the time, full of joy and happiness at simply being around each other during these new experiences. It warmed her heart that her daughter had found two people who loved her and were so close to her. Yui looked to be supremely happy, and that was all a mother could ask for for her child.
