Back to reality for Sureth as he dropped off his data chip fromn the events on the Wacamaw. Looking over to Lt Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers he nodded.

" Anything eventful here while I was gone? "

“Not a lot where the actual day to day station business is concerned Sir” Kah’lyn added with a smile.

"Captain Jacobs and the Dresden headed for the anomaly to get back to their timeline. He wanted to thank both yourself and Captain Kingston for all your hard work providing the means to get back home" Devroe explained then continued "The Captain was very grateful and stated he would be deleting any and all computer records of their time in 2402 as a safeguard against anyone purposely coming to our timeline as well as swearing his Crew to secrecy" then she paused a moment "I believe Jacobs is a man of his word."

" I suppose time will tell. This was a very interesting find for us. An active temporal gate from the Preservers. Number One we will need to assign a security detachment near the opening of that thing to prevent anyone from accessing it without authorization. I am not opposed to requesting a marine division and ship." Sureth replied.

"Understood Commodore, let me contact Admiral Stone. I'm confident he can provide what's needed" then Devroe paused "If not then I'm sure we can put together our own force but we'll need to find a adequate ship to fit our needs" the Commander responded.

Sureth went towards his Office but then stopped at operations.

“Something you need Sir?” Kah’lyn asked looking towards Sureth.

" Yes I am pleased to report Mr Croesus has asked to fill the science station until a chief can be named. Also Captain Kingston is planning to release the Veritas and hopes to send them back through the Janus Expanse portal. Please monitor that for us." Sureth added.

“Aye Sir” Kah’lyn nodded glad to hear Croesus would soon be joining her in Ops again.

Crewman Gale then approached both officers as he had been working at the Science station.

" Sir I have a report from Captain Kingstons nanotechnology. It would seem the arrival of the Crestacian moon was what damaged the portal. The moon was some how forced into the portal causing the severance of the anchor. The report also shows our direct coordinates was its intended target. Someone or thing wanted that moon here." Gale reported.

Hearing the Crewman's report Devroe interjected "That sounds a little disconcerting....why would someone, or thing as you put it, want a moon in the same exact location as M-69....it doesn't make sense" she responded with some concern in her voice.

“It sounds like someone may have a plan” Kah’lyn added from Ops. “We just need to keep our eyes peeled and our ears open.”

" Thank you Crewman. When our team reports in from the moon let me know. I am uniquely puzzled about this. That moon was put in there many years ago. Asking the question why here and why now? The Preservers were known to move species from one area to another. Did they do so to preserve the species?" Sureth replied.

“I guess anything is possible Sir” Kah’lyn answered. “Can’t fault them there if that’s their reasoning.”

Sureth nodded and walked to the ready room.

Ltjg Nic Covenant nodded as he passed Crewman Galen and proceeded over to Lt Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers.

" Do you need relief Commander?" Nic asked as he was a junior ops officer.

Kah’lyn offered a smile. “I’m on shift for a while longer but you can take over Lieutenant. It’ll free me up to do other things.”

Nic smiled as he loved being at Ops where all the excitement was. He had practically grown up on the Bohr and the original station.

The Andorian Lt Salem was at post and also chimed in to their conversation.

" The away team has entered orbit. "

“Understood, keep an eye on them.” Kah’lyn answered.
" Roger that. "

Commander Devroe had just finished talking with Admiral Stone about deploying a possible Marine detachment along with a ship to guard the new found portal and was on her way to inform the Commodore of their discussion. Walking up to his Ready Room she activated the door chime then waited to be recognized by her superior.

Sureth quickly replied " Enter".

Walking in Devroe stood about three feet from his desk "Commodore I contacted Admiral Stone about your request. There seems to be a shortage of available Marines at the moment but he assured me he would try and come up with an alternative plan. In the meantime I could assemble a security detail and perhaps use one of our larger shuttles that are weapons capable" then she paused a moment "Not unless the Wacamaw is available" she explained.

" The McCook is also available. Captain Kingston and Lt Uno report its slip stream systems passed inspections. All it needs is a proper shake down. I know you are the station XO but if you want to get off the station and stretch your legs you can assemble a crew and conduct the shake down?" Sureth replied.

Thinking for a few moments a smile came across Devroe's face "I'm going to take you up on your offer Commodore. I'll get a basic crew together and take the McCook out for a couple of days; if something were to go wrong ship wise it would happen by then.....besides I can use the command experience.....as much as I love what I do I don't want to stay in the First Officer's position my entire career in Starfleet" Angel responded excited about the opportunity.

" Lt Uno would make a very efficient Chief Engineer for this trek." Sureth replied.

"I will certainly keep that in mind as I put a crew together, Sir" Devroe responded already thinking who she might be able to use for this venture besides the Lieutenant.

Sureth was pleased to make the new XO happy . Given her age her career no doubt was very important to her. It would also be good to have the McCook up and running with a proven Captain.

" Don't worry I will hold the station together."

Devroe looked at Sureth and grinned "There is no doubt in my mind Sir."

Sureth resumed scrolling on his terminal and paged his next officer to come to the ready room.

The team was quiet but was somewhat curious about the XO and CO's meeting.

Commander Devroe walked out the meeting and over to Kah'lyn "Commander you have Ops, I have to get a Crew put together for a shakedown of the McCook" before she turned and went to her office.

“Understood Commander” Kah’lyn responded.

Entering her Office Angel sat and pulled up the duty roster to see who might be available for her Crew. After spending some time she had a crew assembled which included Lieutenant Uno for Engineering. After sending notifications to all involved Angel left for her quarters to throw together a duffel for a few days away from the Base.

Lt Nic Covenant called the Commander and reported the McCook was ready for boarding.
" Commander engineering reports the McCook is ready for you."

"Thank you Lieutenant Covenant, I'll let my Crew know" Devroe responded looking forward to this new adventure.
