Captain Ro Kudo sat behind her desk and was going over all the reports for the Messier Sector, deciding which information was worthy to send on to Starfleet Command. Most of the daily grind she read was for M-69 as the port of call for this region of Federation space. As per usual these days, Ro wore her Meji outfit and donned her lightsaber and equipment belt, the chocolate brown overcloak hanging from her coat rack. Her mind went to her past life, and the fact that once she had given up being a chief engineer everything seemed to fall back to an administrative roll. Even as an Executive Officer, seven times out of ten her duties were always administrative. Finishing putting her mark on the last report, Ro leaned back in her chair and gave a light sigh. While M-69 was being assembled here where she now sat, Ro had had time to reflect on all that, to look to other avenues where she could prove useful. Repeatedly, it always came around to wondering if it was time to retire from Starfleet service and fully pursue the building of the Meji Order, and in turn, finding a way to meld the Order as protectors of the Federation. When Starfleet could not act, then the UFP could look to the Meji and ask for their assistance, which would be freely given. ~Ugh!~ she thought. ~Easier said than done. But, I can't do it from this desk as the only master in the Meji Order.~

"Captain Kudo, you have a visitor," Ensign Diane Platt informed her over the comm.

Ro knew that Platt wore an earpiece so that anything she said to her office aide would be private. "Who is the visitor?"

"You're daughter?" The response was questioning the validity of the statement Platt was making, as if she found it hard to believe.

Ro grinned to herself. "It's okay, Diane. Please, send her in." Even as she stood and came around her desk to meet the guest at the proper place in the room, Ro had given the go ahead. It took a bit of self control to not rush herself...too much. She had heard that Yui was on the station but had yet to find time to meet with her. The door slid open and in walked Yui or, at least, a facsimile of her. The face was immediately recognized, but the long, swishing cat tail and cat ears atop her head caused Ro to have to catch herself so that her draw did not drop open.

Yui, upon seeing her mother as she walked in, broke into a big smile. Rushing in she latched onto her mama and hugged her hard, squeezing with love and affection before she stepped back enough to speak, the two of them still holding hands. She noted the quizzical expression on her mother's face, having expected it with her newfound look and species traits. "I know you have a lot of questions, Mama. I'm still me, you're still my mother and Papa is still my father. Qeritas and the Q Continuum granted my boon, and I am now a Quazi, or Catfolk, as we like to be called."

Ro got her hands free of being clasped, reaching up to stroke the ears of her daughter, which caused them to try and dance away from her touch. One had went to the side of her head, to move the hair aside and back a bit, noting a thick, short, downy fur where her Human ears used to be. Within that fur she could feel the more robust whisker-like hairs. "Not what expected to see but, if you're happy that's all I can ask. Is this the final change? You're not going to sprout horns over the next few days, right?" She gave a teasing, crooked grin.

"Mom," Yui said with pseudo-exasperation. "I'm Quazi, not a Succubus. Although, Cait and Sally try their hardest to get me to act like one."

"Cait and Sally?" Ro asked. "There are more of you aboard?"

"My two closest and dearest friends. They are Sacred Harlots of the Celestial Grove, in service to Qeritas and the other Q, to provide comfort to those who are without mates, or have lost a mate due to unfortunate circumstances." Yui explained, her tone denoting her full belief in the system and how it works. There was obviously more to it than a simple title of Harlot. Ro briefly wondered if the Orions could learn a thing or two from that, then quickly pushed that thought away.

"Sacred Harlots, eh?" Ro smiled. "I'll definitely need to hear more later, so I don't rush to judgement on that." At this point Ro grabbed her daughter in another longing hug, rubbing her back to let her know she fully accepted who, and what, she was without hesitation. As a Meji she would be remiss to pass judgement on societal activities she knew nothing about. One had to see all sides. "They want you to be a Sacred Harlot? I do hope you turned them down." Another crooked smile.

Yui gave a smile. "Mama, I don't chase boys. I'm too busy with my education. Plus, Cait and Sally are always there for me when I go through heat..." She saw her mom's eyes widen a bit at the mention of going into 'heat'. Internally, she did a back flip in her mind, finally finding something that did completely take her mother by surprise. "Did you swallow a fish? Catgirls go through heat, and another reason the Sacred Harlots exist. To comfort them while they go through it and keep them from running out and mating with multiple males. One must save oneself for the mate they will eventually marry and be with for life."

Ro was relieved by the end of Yui's explanation. So, they did not simply run around and have sex hither and thither. "Thank you for explaining, Little One. I had some pretty harrowing visions just then." She giggled with a bit of embarrassment.

"Catgirls have enough to learn in life without having our libido getting in the way." Yui said. "How to be a good wife, how to cook the numerous dishes we eat, how to decorate so that there isn't too much on one side of a room, all that. Some become doctors, engineers, military service, whatever. I chose sciences and engineering. Sciences for multiple reasons, including the medical sciences, and engineering so I can fix things without having to call someone else. Plus, it honors Father."

Ro listened, getting Yui to move over to the lounge area so they could sit and chat. After collecting a beverage each they sat down and began to catch up.
