A Lovely Day

With the Peel at the station Shauna was looking forward to a little one on one time with Jamie without having to worry about something calling for their attention. Standing looking out onto the stars on the station promenade she waited for him to join her.

Now that the Peel was docked for a few days, Jamie wanted to do something different for Shauna without the burden of command hanging over their heads. Having already placed Maria in command of the ship hopefully they could spend some time together without interruption. Seeing Shauna peering out at the stars he walked up to her with a smile "A credit for your thoughts" as he placed his hand on the small of her back.

Shauna smiled as she turned to look at Jamie. “I was just thinking how much I wanted to spend time with you, and here you are. I guess the universe heard my thoughts.”

With a light chuckle "It would appear that way. I thought we might do something different for a change especially being off ship.....I've taken the liberty of reserving a holo suite for the next six hours that we can enjoy together" Jamie explained with a smile.

“A whole six hours with you with me paradise!” Shauna grinned.

Taking Shauna by the hand "Come with me I have a surprise for you" as the couple walked along getting closer to their destination.

Shauna grinned like a kid in a candy shop. “I can’t wait to see just what this surprise is!”

Once they reached the Holo Suite Jamie stopped "Computer run program O'Connell zero seven" came the request.

Moments later the door swooshed open as the couple entered then closed behind them "Computer lock the door for the next six hours" then the Computer did as requested.

The Suite showed sunny clear blue skies and tall palm trees swaying gently in a warm summer breeze with lush grasses under your feet and wild flowers in full bloom everywhere. Beyond that was beautiful blue water with white soft sand leading up to it. To the right on a small knoll was a cabana changing room with a selfserve Tiki Bar on the side for beverage and snacks..

Looking to Shauna with a big smile "Surprise! This is a beach I was at when I was on Risa many years ago and I thought it was one of the most beautiful places I had ever been" Jamie explained hoping she'd like it.

“Ohh wow!” Shauna looked around wide eyed. “It’s absolutely beautiful Jamie! I suddenly feel very overdressed.” She grinned a wry grin.

Jamie grinned "In the cabana are a few different styles of swimwear, I thought I would let you choose also there are a few very large beach towels you can lay on; no sense in having sand in places it doesn't belong" as he laughed.

“In that case excuse me for a couple of minutes” Shauna grinned as she walked over to the cabana to change. Taking a look at what was on offer she opted for a flattering bikini, reappearing a few minutes later. “Ta da!” She did a little spin. “Do you like it?”

Meanwhile Jamie changed into a standard pair of swim trunks. He did see a pair of speedos but opted against the attire. They looked uncomfortable plus he didn't feel like pulling the trunks out from between his butt cheeks all day.

Seeing Shauna in her swimwear he walked up to her "Wow!! What's not to like....you look very sexy in that bikini" as he was grinning from ear to ear.

“Then my choice was perfect!” Shauna grinned as she ran her fingers over his chest. “You’re not looking too bad yourself handsome.”

"Thanks....but if you keep running your fingers over my chest like that these swimsuits might be short lived" Jamie responded with a smirk.

“I can’t see a problem there” Shauna gave him a playful wink before looking towards the sand. “I can’t say I’ve ever made love on a beach before.”

Grabbing three large beach towels he took Shauna's hand "Why don't we go lay on the beach and enjoy the nice weather.....and we'll see if we can't change that" Jamie responded liking where this was going.

Shauna grinned. “Now that’s something I can’t say no to.” She held onto his hand as they headed for the beach.

Once down to the beach Jamie spread out two beach towels on the sand. Turning to Shauna "I don't know about you but it's been ages since I've been swimming so I'm going to take a dip" he stated then headed to the water before stopping "Would you like to join me?"

“Are you kidding!?” Shauna nodded enthusiastically. “I love swimming! Maybe we should make a point of swimming together more often.”

Hearing Shauna Jamie grinned "Now that sounds like a stellar idea" as he ran and dove into the water followed closely by Shauna. They swam around for quite some time playing tag with one another and just plain being silly and in love. Finally Jamie stated "Ok I think I'm water logged now" as he chuckled and headed for shore.

Shauna nodded and followed him back to shore, she was having more fun than she could ever put into words. “I wish this never had to end!”

Toweling himself off "Wouldn't that be nice but I'm happy with this if even for just a few hours" he responded then decided to get her mind off her wish "Here let me get your back dried off." While Jamie started drying her off he started kissing the nape of her neck first one side then the other he then threw the towel down. As he continued kissing her neck he would tell her how he felt in between each kiss "I.....love......you...Shauna.....Vehn". Pulling the string that held her top closed he removed it and tossed it on the towel. Kissing her neck once again his hands started caressing her gently and with love.

Shauna closed her eyes simply enjoying all the care and attention she was getting. “I love you too Jamie.” She leant back against him as she spoke.

Minutes later the couple were reclined on the beach towels making love while being completely into one another without the usual distractions of the ship.

Some time later the two lay facing one another without a care in the galaxy and without words between them until Jamie finally broke the silence "This is so nice being here with you and not having the ship....the crew....or a mission in the back of my mind.....that's really nice for a change as well as quite refreshing" Jamie stated as he brushed the hair away from her face just enjoying her beauty.

Shauna was enjoying the time as well she smiled as Jamie brushed her hair from her face. “My thoughts exactly. Most, if not all, the crew probably know that we’re together even though we keep ourselves within regulations when on duty.” Shauna paused. “I just wish we didn’t have to hide how we feel about each other, we’ve more than proved that we can work together without it being a distraction.”

Letting out a sigh "Yes I know but you know how Star Fleet views couples especially in command positions and yes probably most of the crew knows we're a couple" as he paused "Although it would still be inappropriate showing our affections towards one another while on duty" Jamie commented hoping Shauna would understand "As yes we make one hell of a team you and I."

Shauna nodded. “I enjoy serving aboard ship with you Jamie, but I don’t want to have to hide from Starfleet forever more. I’ll be honest I can’t see my life without you in it, so if that means I have to step down as your XO at some point then that is what I’ll do.”

Jamie was a little stunned at her statement "I definitely don't want to loose you; you're way to important to me" as he paused "As much as I would hate to see you sacrifice your career for me I fully understand" pausing once again "What would you want to do if you stepped away from being my Number One."

“First off you’re not going to lose me, not ever!” Shauna added with a smile. “As for what I’d do, I guess I’d have to fall back on my diplomatic training, either that or find another position. Ops was a strong point at the Academy. Anyway that’s not now, that’s to think about for the future.”

Letting out a long sigh "Whew! You had be going for a minute! When you're ready we can come up with positions.....maybe use your Diplomatic abilities when needed then work in Ops when you're not doing that" Jamie responded with a smile.

Shauna smiled. “Sounds like good advice to me. Right now I’m happy to be there as your First Officer, at least I’m right at your side. When the time comes I want to be able to give you a family, and be a wife worthy of you.”

Looking at the love of his life dressed in her gorgeous body Jamie grinned "Are you asking me to marry you Shauna Venn" he inquired his heart now racing.

Shauna gave Jamie a wide eyed look. “I thought that was the man’s job, but I don’t mind being the one.” She grinned. “I want to marry you Jamie O’Connell question is will you? All I know is I’d run away and do it today if I could.”

Jamie laughed "Yes that's traditionally the man's job so when the time comes rest assured I will pop the question again" he stated "And to your query....YES.....I'll marry you.....but probably not today" as he smirked.

Minutes later their discussion was interrupted by a voice "Attention guests.....your time in the Holo Suite expires in thirty minutes."

Looking at Shauna "Crap! Well I guess we'd better go get dressed unless you want to return to the Ship buck naked" as he chuckled with a wink.

“Absolutely not!” Shauna grinned. “I guess that’s the end of our uninterrupted time together.” She sighed as she stood up grabbing her bikini. “Unless you’d like to continue this onboard the rest of this evening?”

Thinking for a brief moment "Tell you what give me an hour once we return to the ship to check in with SanChez and Lieutenant Mercer, since Beta Shift should be coming on soon, then I'll meet you in your quarters and yes I would love to continue this" Jamie responded.

Soon the two lovers were dressed and headed to the door "Computer end program" came the request as they stepped outside of the Holo Suite. Tapping his comm "Peel this is the Captain, two to return" as Jamie grabbed Shauna's hand just before they disappeared.
