Walking off the Transporter pads Jamie whispered to Shauna "See you shortly; your quarters" as he winked then smiled. Entering a Lift "Deck 1 Bridge" and minutes later O'Connell exited before walking up to Maria "Lieutenant SanChez please report" came the order.

Vacating the command chair "Welcome back Captain; things are pretty much the way you left them....actually kind of a boring day" she responded with a snicker.

Smiling "That's not a bad thing Lieutenant I'm sure that won't last long around here so enjoy it while you can" he responded. Just then Lieutenant Mercer walked onto the Bridge "Captain, Lieutenant anything I should be aware of" Mercer inquired already pretty much already knowing the answer.

"No not really.....just the usual being parked in space routine" SanChez answered with a grin.

"Sounds like a fun shift" Mercer replied as he sat in the command chair.

O'Connell grinned before looking to Maria "Lieutenant may I have a minute of your time."

"Certainly Captain" Maria replied as she followed Jamie near his Ready Room.

In a low voice "Maria now that we're back aboard please feel free to leave the ship. I know you like to hit the Clubs on the Promenade" Jamie commented with a grin.

"Thank you Captain and I think I'm going to take you up on your offer; I think I need to cut loose for awhile" Maria answered with a chuckle "Speaking of the Promenade how was your outing today with the Commander; if you don't mind my asking."

"Let's just say it was a rather nice day and leave it at that" Jamie answered with a smirk.

"I'm sure it was but enough said. I'll see you tomorrow Captain and have a good rest of your evening" Maria commented then headed towards the lift.

O'Connell nodded then turned to Mercer "Are you good Lieutenant? If you should need me just call."

"Thanks Captain but I sincerely doubt that'll be an issue. enjoy your evening Sir" he responded.

Jamie gave a nod then left for his quarters. Arriving he grabbed a quick shower then dressed in some casual clothes before heading to Shauna's.

< Quarters >

Jamie palmed the door chime then waited for Shauna to answer.

Shauna was waiting for Jamie’s arrival, having put on something comfortable yet fitting for a romantic evening. She answered the door smiling as she let him in. “That was nice and quick, all quiet I take it?”

"Actually yes it is which is good for us" Jamie replied with a smile "Although I wouldn't mind something to eat....I did work up quite the appetite today being with you" Jamie responded.

“Likewise” Shauna smiled. “We could either cook something up, or we could cheat and replicate something to save us going out again. What would you like to do?”

"No I'm good with staying in and replicating dinner; I think I've been out enough for one day" Jamie responded with a smirk.

“Likewise” Shauna grinned. “Any preference as to what you’d like to eat?”

Thinking a few moments "Maybe a bowl of beef stew with a couple of rolls on the side and a cola to go with it" Jamie replied.

“Mmm Now that sounds delicious!” Shauna smiled. “I’ll get it sorted right now.” Kissing him on the cheek she grinned and headed to sort out the small two person dining table for dinner ahead of replicating the stew.

As Shauna was getting things ready Jamie walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist before kissing her neck as he whispered "Can I help or will I be a distraction."

“Ohh you can be as much of a distraction as you like, but if you want dinner you could set the table for me please?”

Releasing Shauna's waist "Now that I can do" as he chuckled then Jamie grabbed two bowls, butter knife, two spoons along with napkins as he started setting the table.

Shauna grinned as she walked over to the replicator and ordered their beef stew, rolls, cola for Jamie and a lemonade for herself. Returning with the drinks she put them down then went back for the bowls. “Dinner is served.”

Smelling the food made Jamie's mouth water. Taking the spoon he scooped some up and placed it his mouth "Ewe hot!!" as he grabbed the cola and took a swig "This tastes good but be careful it's really hot" then he took another scoop before blowing across it's contents to try and cool it off.

“I’m sorry! Are you okay?” Shauna asked concerned that Jamie had burnt his mouth. “I’ll have to get that replicator checked out.” She stirred her stew before spooning up just a little and giving it a good blow. “Mmm…” she nodded. “That is pretty hot, guess it gives us a little time to chat while it cools.”

Jamie grinned "I'm fine it just surprised me being so hot....of course you could kiss it and make it better later" as a smirk came across his face "So what shall we talk about?"

“I think I’ll take that challenge in a little while.” Shauna smiled. “A little birdie tells me there’s a young lady onboard station with your surname, any relation?” She asked curiously.

Letting out a short sigh "Actually this young lady's name is T'Lanna. A few weeks ago I discovered she was my daughter that I didn't know I even had...let me explain" as Jamie gathered his thoughts "About twenty years ago when I first joined Starfleet, the Ship I was on had a shore leave on Risa. There's where I met her mother, T'Pel. I was young and foolish at the time and wasn't too concerned about consequences in my life. T'Pel was a beautiful young Vulcan woman, besides being a brilliant Scientist, and we hit it off from the get go. Long story short T'Pel and I spent our whole leave together. Little did I know she'd become pregnant with my child and she never once reached out to me concerning T'Lanna. Her mother passed and that's when T'Lanna took my surname and transferred to M-69 to find and meet her father; me. I know I should have told you sooner but I am still wrapping my head around having the whole daughter thing. I hope this doesn't change anything between us" Jamie concluded knowing since Shauna asked he needed to be truthful with her.

“Not one little bit!” Shauna smiled with a firm shake of her head. “I think it’s wonderful. You have a daughter that’s a special thing and when we eventually marry she’ll become my daughter too. I find that idea exciting!” She grinned. “I’d love to meet her one day, but not until you’re ready.”

Feeling a huge burden lifted from his shoulders Jamie smiled "And that's just one of the reasons I love you so much....you're very understanding and sometime soon I would really like T'Lanna to meet the woman I love" he responded still smiling at this amazing woman.

Shauna smiled the biggest smile yet. “In the meantime let’s eat then we can spend the rest of our evening enjoying each other’s company. Actually how do you feel about a movie night? Just me, you, and a good movie?”

"Now that sounds like the perfect ending to a perfect day.....spending more time with the woman I love" Jamie responded not really caring what they did as long as they were together.

“Wonderful” Shauna smiled. “We can cuddle up and enjoy the movie then see where we go from there.” She gave him a wry smile. “We just need to pick the movie.”

Thinking for a moment" How about this...ladies choice.....I'm fine with whichever movie you choose" he replied with a smile.

Shauna nodded. “Sounds good to me. Do you like horrors? I love a good horror movie!”

"Sure; I can't remember the last time I watched a movie like that" he responded.

“Wonderful” Shauna smiled. “I absolutely love the Halloween movies amongst others, so I think we’ll watch that.”

"Sounds good to me" as Shauna started the movie. The couple sat on the couch with Jamie's arm around her as she cuddled up next to him ready for whatever gruesome thing might pop up in the movie.

Shauna grinned as she sat cuddled up, she’d replicated popcorn buckets, and snacks galore for them to enjoy.

Jamie kissed the top of Shauna's head "This is the perfect end to a perfect day being with you" he stated in a low voice.

“I wish we could do this every night” Shauna smiled as she looked at him. “I could seriously get used to cuddling up to you like this.”

"Let me see what I can do....I'm in pretty tight with the Captain" Jamie responded with a big grin.

“Oh are you now?” Shauna grinned playing along. “I very much hope he approves of my idea.”

"Oh I'm pretty sure he will; unless of course something drastic pops up. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to spend our evenings together" Jamie replied quite liking the idea.
