Location: USS NAZGUL

ON:

Captain Bjorgo and Doctor Sheyla sat at the L-shaped buddy bar in the CO's quarters, eating breakfast and chatting about various things. It ahd become routine for the Andorian woman to show up every morning to enjoy the company of the man she was fast falling in love with. But, as with all things in Starfleet, she kept it completely professional when not in private, and Tore did the same. As they were finishing their meals the door chime sounded and Bjorgo looked that way. "Come in."

Lieutenant Commander Billi came inside, a momentary sllowing of her stride as she noted the Doctor's presence. The Captain and CMO sat next to each other at the buddy bar, but it was done in such a way that it just looked like two people sharing a meal together, not 'attached at the hip' as the saying goes. She proceeded to approach on the opposite side of the buddy bar from Bjorgo. "Captain, we've received new oreders from Captain Taavis. The in-depth exploration of the Unre expanse has been set aside for now."

Tore pushed his plate aside, having eaten his fill, looking to his XO. "Interesting," Tore said. "Something tells me it has to do with the rise in Essary encounters."

"That was my assessment, as well, Sir." Billi responded.

Sheyla set her plate aside. "We can still go out and launch probes and all that, right?"

"We can, yes," Bjorgo replied. "Standard patrols won't change that. We'll skirt the edges of the Expanse, launch probes and see what comes of it. Beyond that, we remain at the ready should M-69 call. Between ourselves, the PEEL, and the Klingons, only a fool would stir up trouble for Starfleet or the UFP."

Billi gave a crooked grin. "There are fools aplenty around the galaxy. Take it from someone who once ran her own crew for my mother's clan, back in the day. Criminals and vagabonds often think they can outsmart Starfleet. And, for a while, they might. However, time and again, they get shut down and dismantled if they cross too many red lines."

Sheyla got to her feet, taking up her own plate and Tore's, moving to the sink. She returned and took up the empty glasses, donned an apron, and began to do the dishes by hand.

Billi watched the Doctor, amused that she shared Bjorgo's penchant for old school ways and ideals. "Not to pry, you two, but is this breakfast thing a constant? That is to say, is it every morning?"

Bjorgo gave a smile. "That it is. Nothing like keeping up to date on the health and welfare of my crew. Best way to do that is to invite my CMO over for meals, dazzle her with my culinary skills, and keep her in the know about ship's business."

"Right," Billi said. As an Orion, she knew all too well the signs of something more between two people, but it was none of her business who the Captain spent his free time with. She was glad for it, though. Captains needed that. A break from the routine to maintain their own self control and focus. "How does one get an invite to breakfast? It smells delicious in here."

Sheyla gave a giggle, spinning and leaning back against the counter as she dried her hands after placing the dishes in the strainer. "I'm sure his answer will be - just ask."

"She knows me too well," Bjorgo said with a chuckle. "But, yes, Number One. Just ask. I start cooking at 0400 every morning. The Doctor usually shows up right around then, and has learned a few things about food prep while she waits for the vittles. I'm even considering a 'Captain's table' once a week. All who wish to show up may do so, within reason since seating is limited. Enlisted, officers, all who may want to enjoy good food and good company."

Billi smiled. "Sounds fun. Count me in if it ever comes to fruition. Anyway, I need to get to the Bridge, the Captain may show up at any time. Until then, good morning, you two."

As she turned and began to walk out, Bjorgo called behind her. "And to you, Number One." The Orion disappeared from view as the door shut behind her.

"I like her," Sheyla said. "Not your typical Orion, and obviously dedicated to you."

"She is a cut above, for sure." Bjorgo said, getting to his feet as he set his mind to duty. "Thanks for cleaning up." Tore stepped in and gave her a hug, then a smooch on the lips as he headed for the door. "See you around, Blueberry." He walked out into the corridor.

Sheyla silently giggled to herself as she shook her head, following not too far behind the Skipper, needing to get to Sickbay and check on the maintenance upgrades the starbase engineers had installed.
