Location: Kor'Kang Colony
Timeline: Current

ON:

With his crew around him, Lieutenant Marz entered the Great Hall of House Kehlani through the landing pad entrance. As Patriarch he did not slow his stride, the sentinels all coming to attention and giving the fist over heart salute of the Klingon Empire as he passed. Not that it was his place to do so but Gavin was at his right side, with no one challenging him as they went. As far as Gavin had been able to tell K'vin was the acting XO for the ship, although he seemed more needed in engineering. It seemed that in the Klingon world, when landed and moving as a unit, where one was in the crowd mattered little. It was Gavin's way of letting the Klingon know that he would stand and fight at his side. He began to feel a kinship with the crew even after only a couple of days, and Gavin felt that a friendship was developing between himself and Marz.

They strode into the main, open Hall, the long rectangular fire pit ablaze as they turned to the right to cross the expanse of blood red carpeting to approach the dais with the thrones on it. Kozar, the House steward, stood at the bottom of the dais, awaiting his Patriarch. By the look on his face it was not going to be good news.

"Kozar! Report!" Marz barked as the group came to a stop.

Kozar gave a bow from the neck. "My Lord. We have lost all contact with Matriarch Kehlani and her platoon. We have drones and small craft scouring the area she was last known to be, but have found nothing except dead bodies and smashed equipment."

Marz wanted to blow up but, keeping with his want to one day be a Dahar Master, he got his rage under control with great effort. He let out a breath through his nostrils. "Dead bodies you say? Whose bodies? Ours, or this unknown enemy?"

"That is yet to be determined, Lord." Kozar explained. "The physicians are now going over the bodies gathered, out in the field. I sent a company of troops to deter any further attacks. They have reported that some of the bodies were Klingon, but not of our House. They wore head wraps to disguise their appearance."

"Cowards!" This was hissed out by Kehzza as she stood just behind Gavin. He glanced back over his shoulder and gave her a nod of agreement. "A Klingon does not hide their face when they kill! The enemy must know who it was who ended their life!" She feigned spitting on the floor in disgust.

Marz nodded along with what she said, his eyes never leaving the face of Kozar. "Prepare a shuttle. We will go out and see this battlefield for ourselves. Gavin," he noted the Human looking his way. "Are you with us, or do you prefer to not be involved since you are Starfleet."

Gavin turned to face Marz, reaching out and clasping his forearm in the warrior's handshake. "I serve House Kehlani, at this time, Lord. I am a member of your crew, HoD. How could I look any of you in the eye were I to stay? My place is at your side for the duration of my assignment here, no matter what may come. Qapla'!"

"majQa'," Marz said, returning the handshake with a grin, the grunting of acceptance from the rest heard around them. "We will find her and we will eliminate this threat to House and hearth." He released the hand and then faced everyone. "Gather your weapons and prepare for battle. We leave when the shuttle is ready. Fill your bellies with a goblet of bloodwine, warriors." A cheer went up and then the crew broke apart in a loose gathering as a barrel of bloodwine was brought out and a table of goblets set up.
