Mission: THE LAST CRY FOR HELP

Jamie O'Connell sat at his desk tying up some loose ends. Right now he was up to his eyeballs in padds going over reports from the various departments; it seemed reports were never ending and those were the ones that his Number One felt needed his attention as she dealt with the rest. After about two hours Jamie heard a friendly voice as he looked up.

"Captain, looks like you could use a break" Angel commented with a smile.

Sitting back in his chair "You know me too well Commander.....so what's going on" Jamie replied with a smile happy for the distraction.

Walking in and taking a seat in front of the Captain's desk "I just wanted to remind you concerning Lieutenant J.G. Sayvek's request for a permanent transfer to the Peel" Angel replied.

Letting out a brief sigh "Thanks of the reminder, I think it slipped my mind after the last few days of dealing with the Assul" then he paused "Matter of fact let me see to it now since I would welcome a break from all this" as he gestured towards the padds with his hand. Tapping his comm "Lieutenant J.G. Sayvek please report to the captain's Ready Room."

Angel stood "I'll take the Bridge and let you get to it then" she commented then turned and left.

Sayvek finished up a scan he had discovered from the recently passing Ion Storm. He then quickly hustled and arrived at the Captain's door.

Chiming in he then entered.

" Captain reporting as ordered. I apologize for my lateness."

O'Connell looked up from his work with a smile while setting the padd he was reading aside "Mr Sayvek please have a seat, there is something I would like to discuss with you" he stated while gesturing to the empty seat on the other side of his desk "It has come to my attention that you would like your stay here on the Peel to be a permanent one; or at least as permanent as can be expected in Star Fleet."

" I have discussed this with Commander Devroe. If the Chief slot is open I would accept a reassignment." Sayvek replied.

"Commander Devroe has been overseeing Science as well as being First Officer" then Jamie paused a moment "But yes considering your performance while aboard and your science knowledge I would have no problem assigning you the position of Chief Science Officer" he commented.

" Thank you sir. As I have your attention while I was at my post I observed unusual readings from the Ion Storm that just passed. It would appear to have temporal fluxes. I sent the data to the Starbase for analysis."

"Very good Mr. Sayvek and thank you for taking it upon yourself to relay the data to the Base. Unless you have any questions that's all I have" Captain O'Connell commented.

" Thank you for having me Captain and for your confidence. " Sayvek replied.

Captain O'Connell smiled " You're welcome Mr Sayvek and I look forward to continuing working along side you. You are dismissed"
