NAZGUL #19: Worthwhile Visit

Posted on Sun Jan 12th, 2025 @ 9:40pm by Lieutenant Commander Sean Loewen (acting CO) & Lieutenant Lenore (Len) Holbrook

Mission: NAZGUL: {CD&MISSION} Return to Basics
Location: USS NAZGUL
Timeline: Current

ON:

After meeting with Sheyla, and needing some time to himself, Loewen went to his old quarters, having some Operations people aid him in moving his belongings to a VIP suite. He had chosen a successor for Helm, a young Russian woman named Sasha Ditcheva. She had scored high on her marks in Flight Control, and had been studious in her duties. When all that had been accomplished Sean sat down on the floor in his quarters, crossing his legs lotus and allowing himself to sink into a meditation trance to reinvigorate his body and mind. As he did so visions passed through his mind, past, present, and possible futures. The Force provided information when it was called upon but it was up to the user to discern what was what and how best to react. Taking an hour to do that, Loewen then came back to fully conscious, his eyes opening as he got to his feet. Once standing he checked the dailies, seeing that Sheyla had made a video message informing the ship of the temporary command changes, and that it was all in accordance with Starfleet Command. With that finished, and knowing that some may not have seen the message yet, Sean left his temporary quarters and headed for Sickbay.

Len was in her office after putting supplies away. She had allowed her juniors enjoy their time at the station and she enjoyed knowing that everything was in its place. She was reading the messages on her compter, including the one that mentioned the change in command.

Arriving at Sickbay, Sean stepped though the entrance and into the bay proper, eyes glancing around the chamber first before looking to the CMO's office. He spotted Len sitting behind her desk, her door locked open, so he casually made his way over to her sanctuary and knocked on the doorjam. "Got time for a chat, Doctor?" He asked with a grin.

Len returned the grin and nodded towards the chairs, "Of course, Captain."

Sean came in and began to move his body around the offered chair to sit down when she said that. It made him break into a smile as his tush made contact and he leaned back in such a way that his saber hilt would not push into his lower spine. "So, you heard. I should have known that of all people, the CMO does check ship dailies. It's all new, of course, but I'm adjusting quickly, what with Nazgul not really doing anything but sitting next to a starbase. How have you been, Len? It's been a minute since we caught up."

"I like to keep apprised of what is going on the ship. I have been well, how about you?" Len said with a smile.

"I've been good." Sean said with meaning. "Keeping my department busy along with learning a new way of looking at things. Meditation, trusting my feelings, all that sort of thing." His eyes filled with mirth as he set his PADD in the other guest chair and stood up. "But, I need something only you can provide." Saying that as he moved around to her side of the desk, he reached for her hand to get her to stand with him.

Len took his hand in one of hers while she stood. She used her other hand to touch his cheek.

Sean did the same as her, stroking her cheek with the back of his fingers, looking into her eyes and finding his grounding. He leaned in and kissed her lightly on the lips, but longingly, before he broke the kiss and took her in his arms in a hug. His embrace bestowed his feelings for her, at how her mere presence put him at ease. She was the balm for those times when he felt chaos rising in his soul.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and places her head against his chest. She can hear his steady heart beat. "It has been a hectic few days hasn't it."

"For sure," Sean replied, lightly rubbing the back of her head a moment. "This is my therapy, right here." He gently took her face in his hands and had her look him in the eyes. "I love you, lady." He gave her another kiss.

Len returned the kiss, " I love you too. I am happy that I can bring you peace when you need it."

Loewen grinned and gave her another quick kiss before unraveling their arms and stepping off to a proper distance. Her staff did not need a continuous show of their affection for each other. "I'm just caught in a grey area, Len. Green is, technically, the CO of the ship. Bjorgo has been removed from duty along with Billi and Ainkara until HQ decides what to do with all that transpired. So, it's my ship, but it's not. I may need your counsel more than ever in the days to come."

Len nodded. "Of course, I'll help however I can. Have you settled into new quarters?"

"I have," Loewen said. "VIP quarters until we hear more about HQ's decision. Lieutenant Ditcheva is currently living in my old quarters." He gave her a cheeky look. "Did you have something else in mind?"

"Yes, I have something in mind, and we can either go to your new quarters or to mine, after shift of course." She gave him a smile.

Sean gave her a smile. "Sounds good. Let's go to your place. My current domicile feels temporary and I would feel out of place even with you there. I would be fidgety, in other words." He gave a light giggle.

"Wouldn't want you to be fidgety. My quarters are set to let your entry, make yourself at home."

Giving a cheeky, quiet chuckle, Sean leaned in and gave her another quick kiss. "Be careful, Love. I may do just that." He gave her hand a squeeze of love and then turned away, taking his PADD up off the chair as he got to her office door. He stopped and looked back. "Thank you, Len, for being you."

Len nodded and gave a laugh. "Go do Captain things."

Loewen wagged his eyebrows and smiled. "Yes, Ma'am." He then left her office. As he crossed Sickbay he stated in a somewhat humorous tone. "Any videos of what happened are found trending throughout the ship, heads will roll." Sean then stepped out into the corridor and disappeared from Medical.
