Mission: NAZGUL: {CD&MISSION} Return to Basics
Location: USS NAZGUL
Timeline: Current

ON:

Lieutenant Griffon Resch stood in transporter room two aboard the USS Nazgul. His place was just to the left of the transporter operator, facing the transporter pads, awaiting the new arrival. With the news that Lieutenant Commander Sean Loewen was now the 'captain', it had come down the pipe in Security that Billi and Ainkara were also absent due to being called the SFHQ along with Bjorgo. Penni, too, had been sent along. Resch could not say that was not a relief since he had had a feeling of uneasiness around the cyborg since he had first met her. He still could not for the life of him figure out why, but there was just something too...pleasant about the girl. As if she was working extra hard to be sweet and therefore cause people to drop their defenses. Griffon knew that it was his job to see through sweet and innocent in order to keep people safe, to keep them secure from harm.

"We're ready, Lieutenant. The new Science Chief is on the pad on 69, Sir."

"Energize," Griffon ordered. The operator manipulated his console and the familiar thrum of the transporter sounded, with the glittering light show enacting on the pads as the energy signal reconstituted the Vulcan officer aboard the USS Nazgul. Once she was solid and moving on her own, Resch stepped forward to the base of the steps. "Lieutenant T'Pri, welcome to the USS Nazgul."

"Thank you," T'Pri said, remaining where she was. "Permission to properly come aboard?"

Griffon remained stoic, even if his eyes showed more softness than his body portrayed. "Allow for my initial Security scan, then you may step down. I'm Lieutenant Griffon Resch, Security Chief, so it will only take a moment."

"Of course, Lieutenant Resch." T'Pri waited patiently, knowing that all the personnel in the region were a bit jumpy after that last confrontation with an aggressive species.

Seeing his scans showed that T'Pri was who she said she was, Resch made a welcoming gesture. "Welcome aboard, Lieutenant T'Pri. You may now step onto the deck plates." Again, Griffon found himself admiring the Vulcanoid physique. His penchant for the women of that kind was something that still made him wonder where it came from. And, this one, wore the short skirt and sheer black leggings, with knee high boots with a low heel. It enhanced her looks in his own mind. The confidence in her steps also caught his attention.

T'Pri descended the couple of steps, now face to face with him on a more even level. "Thank you for determining that I am T'Pri. I would have found it most disagreeable had I not been."

Resch's face went quizzical, then thoughtful, then quizzical again as his mouth made to speak but he caught himself a couple of times as he tried to determine if she was joking or not. It sounded like a joke, was said deadpan to make it even more funny, but then again, she was Vulcan. "Well...I'm glad to have aided in your comfort level." He handed her a palm PADD. "Your quarters assignment is on there, a VIP suite. Until we hear more about Captain Bjorgo and his companions, that is where you will stay." Was that mirth in her eyes, knowing she had shell-shocked his brain with how she had acted? It was hard to tell with a Vulcan, and until he got to know her better and learn how to read her body language, he could only guess.

"I am sure they will suffice, Mr. Resch. You have my gratitude." T'Pri gave him an expectant expression as she remained standing there.

Seeing she was not moving, and giving him an odd look, Griffon had to ask. "Something wrong, Lieutenant?"

"Not at all," T'Pri said, and this time he could read the extremely slight makings of a face playing at hiding their humor. It was subtle, to be sure, but there. "I was under the impression that the first visit required an escort. A guide, if you will."

It was Resch's turn to be cheeky. "Afraid you'll get lost, Miss T'Pri." Her lips parted as if to say something but he cut her off. "Very well, right this way." He motioned and got them moving, saying more as they stepped into the corridor. "I do hope you can get your bearings soon. Security has better things to do other than escort confused and lost science officers."

T'Pri realized she had begun a sparring match with a well-armed individual. This could prove to be both challenging and acceptable. "If the other science officers have been here for a good amount of time, and are still getting lost, then I may have to replace them all with those who are more observant."

Resch gave a chuckle. "No worries, Lieutenant. They all know how to get from here to there, no problem. It's the new Chief that gives me pause." He gave her a sidelong look, which she returned.

"Perhaps you misinterpret the entire situation. Has that not occured to you? It could be a simple way to get to know another department head on board. A conversation while partaking in a short jaunt." T'Pri kept looking forward as they moved.

Griffon grinned. "Either way, Miss T'Pri, I find it agreeable to get to know you." She had looked over at him as he had used words that Vulcans used to describe a situation. "Any time you wish to talk and go for a walk, just let me know."

After stepping out of a lift on her deck, T'Pri spoke up. "I may seek you out for these talks and walks. I find that moving about while deep in thought provides a better insight for myself."

"Me too," Resch said. "It's why I love Security. Seeing me moving around the ship is not unusual, and most people just think I'm on a patrol when in actuality, I'm just thinking things through. But," he got them to stop and he motioned at the entry to a VIP suite. "Here we are. Your chambers await, Madame."

T'Pri actually wnated to give a grin at that. He was quick on the uptake, but after she had read the file for Lieutenant Ainkara, T'Pri could understand why. Perhaps this man had spent time around the Voran woman, to better understand the more Vulcan way of looking at things. "Again, you have my thanks, Mr. Resch. Good day." With that said she walked into her quarters aboard the USS Nazgul.

Resch stood there until the door closed, and once she was out of sight, he began to trek back the way they had come. His friendship with Kara meant a great deal to him, so getting to know T'Pri was going to be a priority. Being the Security Chief, Griffon was privy to more information than the rest of the crew, and he knew more details in why the Captain and the others had been called away. His biggest worry; the Iconian facility where Penni had been found. It was still out there, and even though they had picked Kara up in the Delta while she was on her return trip, the Nazgul still had no clue as to where exactly that facility was. He hated to do it but being who he was and his position, it was time for him to dig into personal logs and secured files by one Lieutenant Ainkara.
