Peel Post - Analysis

[Valdaron]

The Away Team materialized in front of the Engineering Complex as Angel turned to her team "Ok, let's see if we can't help theses people out and get them back to normal" she stated with a smile. The Team entered the front door with Security keeping a constant eye on their surroundings just like they had been trained to do.

Walking in Angel greeted the guard at the desk "Good morning, I'm Commander Devroe from the USS Peel and this is my Engineering team and Security detail; we're her to help your people out and get this place back to normal."

"Good morning and welcome to Valdaron, we've been expecting you and we'll take any help we can get" the guard replied "If you'll follow me right this way I'll escort you to the main engineering room where the General will fill you in on all the details." Angel gave a polite nod as the Team followed as instructed.

Walking into Main Engineering the guard walked up to an older gentleman "General, may I present Commander Devroe and her team from the USS Peel" he stated as the General turned "Commander Devroe it's a pleasure to meet you and I sincerely hope your team can help us out."

Angel smiled "We'll certainly do what we can. So what seems to be the problem; I understand the ring just stopped turning" she replied.

"You understand correctly Commander. We've checked and rechecked all the systems associated with the slow turning mechanism but can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary....it had just stopped. Unless we can get it turning again then we could very possibly experience an orbital decay pulling us into the nearby moon's gravity" he explained not wanting to leave out any important details" he concluded with much concern.

"I understand completely General so we'll get to work on it straight way" Angel replied giving Lieutenant Flannery the nod to go ahead and get started.

"Thank you Commander Devroe" as he looked at his time piece "Now if you'll excuse me I do have a meeting to attend to. I will check back later to what progress you've made. In the meantime you may ask anyone of my people here if should any questions arise."

"Thank you General and hopefully we'll have some good news upon your return" Angel answered as the General gave a polite nod then turned and left for his meeting. Lieutenant Flannery and his team were hard at work as Angel walked over "Mr. Flannery, how are the diagnostics coming along" she inquired.

Marcus turned towards Angel "Good Commander but so far everything seems to check out just as these folks said it has. If I can't find a physical reason for the non rotation then I'll have to take a look at their Computer System and see what that reveals if anything" Marcus explained hoping they would find something to explain things.

"Keep at it Lieutenant and let me know the minute you find out anything at all" Devroe ordered with a smile.

"You got it Commander" Marcus replied before going back to work.

Angel stood a few moments really hoping to find the cause of the problem before the General returned. Noticing the time Angel thought she should update Jamie on their progress. Tapping her comm "Captain O'Connell this is Commander Devroe."

Moments later "O'Connell here, go ahead Commander" Jamie stated hoping for some good news.

"Captain our Engineering Team is hard at work but so far haven't been able to find any physical evidence to explain the ring from not turning. He did mention, however, that if he keeps coming up empty then the System's Computer is where he'll be looking next" she explained.

[Peel]

O'Connell was sitting at command hearing what Angel was explaining while the wheels were already turning in his brain "Number One we've just acquired a new Computer Systems Specialist when we were at M-69 last. Knowing that sifting through a computer can be time consuming, why don't I send her to you and she can start the process while Lieutenant Flannery and his team continues on their present course of action" Jamie strongly suggested but would let Angel make the call since this was her Op.

Thinking for a moment "That Captain is an excellent idea and just may save us some time in the long run. Have her use the same coordinates we beamed down to and tell her I'll meet her outside of the Complex" Devroe replied knowing this was a prudent course of action.

"Let me contact her and fill her in on the details then I'll contact you when she's ready to arrive" O'Connell answered.

"Sounds good Captain; I be waiting for your call. Devroe out."

Tapping his comm " Ensign Angie O'Hara please report to the Captain's ready room" he ordered then turned to Sarissa "Councilor you have the Bridge" as he made his way to the ready room waiting for his newest crew member.

“Aye Sir” Sarissa nodded as she moved to the centre seat. She had to admit it was an odd feeling being in command.

[Ready Room]

Captain O'Connell grabbed a water then sat waiting for his newest crew member. Hearing a knock on his door Jamie looked up seeing a young Trill women with the usual Trill markings, long red hair in a ponytail, and dressed in the usual gold Engineering uniform "Please come in Ensign, have a seat, I'm in need of your services" he stated as the Ensign came in and sat as requested sitting with her back straight and hands folded in her lap.

Looking at this tense young Officer Jamie smiled "Please relax Ms. O'Hara, you're not in any kind of trouble or anything of that nature" then Jamie went on to explain what was happening on Valdaron "So we need your particular talents on the ring."

Angie relaxed and returned the Captain's smile "Captain O'Connell first let me just say it's a pleasure to meet you Sir and am looking forward serving under your command" she replied then continued "I'd be more than happy to be of assistance on Valdaron; I can be ready to beam down as soon as I grab a couple of things to take with me....if that's acceptable Sir.

With a smile "Yes Ensign, that is acceptable. However pleased be armed with a phaser and be aware of your surroundings just for safety's sake. Commander Devroe will meet you outside of the Main Complex when you arrive" O'Connell concluded then continued "On a more personal note, I have to ask. How is it a Trill has auburn hair with a last name of O'Hara."

Angie grinned "Sir, I'm half Trill and half human. Mother is Trill and Father is an Irishman; we lived on Earth most of my young life so obviously you know which part of my appearance comes from who" she replied a little surprised at the Captain's question.

Jamie grinned "Well obviously you can guess as to my heritage with the last name of O'Connell and may I say it's nice to have another Irishman aboard. I take it you're all settled in here since I know you boarded just before we departed from M-69" he commented.

"Yes Captain O'Connell your heritage is quite obvious" as she snickered" To answer your inquiry I'm all settled and eager to get to work" Angie replied feeling much more at ease with the Captain.

Standing Jamie offered his hand "Welcome aboard Ensign and you'll be working with me as opposed to under my command. We have a nice close knit family here and I can see you fitting in quite nicely."

Standing Angie shook the Captain's hand "Thank you Sir and I know this will be a great assignment for me" she replied surprised at the Captain's attitude towards his subordinates which was very refreshing.

"I've taken up enough of your time Ensign so get ready to depart the Peel and you are dismissed" O'Connell ordered pleased with his new Crew mate.

Turning Angie left heading towards Engineering to grab a few things before leaving.

[Bridge]

Shortly Jamie's comm went off "Captain, Ensign O'Hara, I'm ready to depart." "Good and please be careful and I'll alert the Commander you're on your way." then tapping his comm "Commander Devroe, Ensign O'Hara is on her way to you now." "Understood Captain" Angel replied.

Turning to Science "Lieutenant Sayvek, has your scans shown anything else that might be useful" O'Connell inquired.

" There is another off shoot of the ring in some sort of cylinder like bio matrix. Three in all orbiting the ring. Their power supply is much less powerful but they do have a considerable colony that is thriving." Sayvek replied.

[Valdaron]

The Emarate was beside himself as the power supply again went up and down in the office. But when it came back on the image of his enemy filled his screen.

" You are done Moth Lundren. Do you surrender?"
" Never! Clevex your band of rebels will never own this ring." the Emarate replied.

Commander Devroe stood outside the Complex when Angie shimmered into existence "Good afternoon Ensign. I don't believe I've had the pleasure; I'm Commander Angel Devroe Executive Officer" she stated with a warm smile.

"Very nice to meet you Commander" as the two shook hands "I'm Ensign Angie O'Hara, Computer Systems Specialist. I came onboard shortly before the Peel left M-69 so I haven't met to many of the Crew yet" she explained glad to see a women on the command team.

"Welcome to our happy little family. We'll have time to catch up later on but right now, if you'll come with me, I am in need of your talents" as Angel started towards the Complex with the Ensign walking along beside her as she explained their current dilemma.

Walking into Main Engineering Angel turned "Ensign I'll introduce you to the Engineering Chief and he can fill you in on what he's discovered so far" she commented as they walked over to the Marcus "Lieutenant Flannery I'd like to introduce your new Computer Systems Specialist, this is Ensign Angie O'Hara."

Marcus looked up with a smile "Welcome O'Hara, I can really use your expertise" Marcus stated "We've gone over almost every inch of this system and can't find any reason why the Ring should not be turning. I'm assuming it's a computer related issue; nice name by the way."

"Thanks Chief. I'll get started right away and hopefully your assumptions are correct" then she paused "After this is over I would like very much to meet with you since I'm new to the Ship" Angie replied with a smile.

Marcus grinned "Yes that probably would be a good idea; there're are some things I'd like to discuss with you since you're our first Specialist we've had aboard" he commented "Here let me show you where their computer system is located." Walking several meters away "This is it so have at it and let me know what you discover; something good I hope."

"Thanks Chief and I'll definitely keep you apprised of anything I discover" O'Hara replied with a smile then turned at went straight to work.
