CAPERNUM: Broken Bones

Posted on Tue Apr 8th, 2025 @ 11:45pm by Captain Taavis {SF/Meji Intel} {Meji} & Captain Rogue "Ro" Green {Meji Master} {Flt. Cpt.}

Mission: CAPERNUM: {CD&MISSION} On Duty
Location: USS Capernum
Timeline: current/somewhere in between

ON:

USS Capernum was now sitting at station keeping, having towed the USS Nazgul for a few hours at warp two. The Nazgul, in turn, had been towing the NX-22 Malta. However, as the time passed in transit Nazgul had called over to state that they needed to drop from warp and make needed repairs. The chamber's coil was overriding the tractor beam system due to all the internal, and structural, damage that the Nazgul had endured going into, and out of, a subspace rift at light speeds.

Green walked up directly behind the chair for an ensign sitting at the Engineering station on the Bridge. Taavis stood there him, to his left side, which he had more open as his knees were angled slightly left to better look at the monitors he had brought up. "What are we looking at, Number One?"

Taavis lifted her left hand and casually did the two fingers together pointing at several sections that were in red on a schematic of the USS Nazgul, and the Reliant class light cruiser. "Here, here, here, and here. Captain," Taavis turned her head to meet the eyes of her Commanding Officer, then they turned back to the monitor as she kept going. "These four areas are key superstructure junctions for the Reliant class spaceframe. With that amount of damage to her spaceframe..."

Ro picked up the end of the sentence. "...the Nazgul is due for retirement." Green gave a sigh at that. Never easy to tell a crew that their ship had suffered enough overall damage to be decommissioned as a viable vessel in Starfleet. "As a one-time chief engineer, myself, I know how it feels to lose a vessel in such a way. But, the crew did save her all in one piece."

"Even if some pieces are broken, they're all here." Taavis agreed.

"I'll have to make sure it is abundantly clear that none of this news is anyone's fault. Least of all; Commander Loewen." Green, wearing form fitting Starfleet pants tucked into the calf high all-terrain boots, sported an old 'captain's variant' uniform from times gone by. Like Kirk's favorite green tunic, with the V-neck fold over style to the front, Ro now wore exactly the same design of shirt done in a female style. Except, hers was red. She had her pips along the V-neck on the right side, and left the old school rank insignia in place. The only things on her thin equipment belt were a tricorder in holster, her PADD being in her thigh pocket. Also, her lightsaber was hooked to her belt on the right hip. The crew did not know what it was just yet, at least those who had not caught the missive to all Starfleet in regards to the Meji Order.

"Taavis," Green said, stopping beside her chair as she looked to engineering from there.

"Yes, Captain?"

"Let's send a repair team over and assist with any further power issues. Have engineering standing by to replicate anything Nazgul may need from our own engineering labs." Ro gave her a final nod of there you go, and thank you, all in one.

"No problem, Captain. After that I'll send word ahead to M-69 that we had to stop to provide some repairs to Nazgul, but we will be at their coordinates within the next 48 hours." Taavis waited, saw Green think on that a moment, and then her CO gave a nod of consent to the message within that recorded call before she turned her back to Taavis and sat down in her CO's chair. Taavis continued to work with the young officer at Engineering. She so hoped that Ejo would agree to move directly from Nazgul to Capernum, along with all the other staff officers, as well as, the crew officers. Some of the crew who had come with Capernum out this way, were looking forward to being stationed on M-69, with a typical Starfleet personnel swap and transfer that many young officers often met with in their formative years in the fleet.
