Captain Green sat behind her desk in the Ready Room. It was odd after being on Nazgul, that the Ready Room was now solely her office, with the briefing room next door that she could access either by the door in here, from the Bridge, or from the small access corridor just outside the Bridge. She liked it this way. She needed a place that was hers, above all other spaces, for times of contemplation and the need to think and be alone with her thoughts. The chime sounded and Ro looked up from the PADD she had been reading, lying flat on her desk top. "Come."
Taavis entered, her eyes always having that lazy half closed eye look to them. Alluring and erotic as she had heard some say, but there always seemed to be a bit of cynicism and sarcasm behind those eyes. Having read everything she could about her Number One, Taavis had been around the block dozens of times and her experiences were quite unique in some cases. "Good morning, Captain." She came in and sat down down non-chalant across from her boss. Taavis held a PADD up and wagged it twice, grinning. "It would appear that all crew from Nazgul are wanting to transfer to the Capernum. They like this sector and don't wish to leave it anytime soon. Despite the issues that their ship always seemed to get caught up in."
Green gave a smile. "Can't blame them, there. I was one of those 'issues' when I jumped too soon into accepting a command. It was too fresh after Bjorgo had left the first time."
"Yeah, well, he is a different sort than most," Taavis said, her tone denoting very little interest in the topic of Tore Bjorgo. "However, he and his missing companions do need to be found despite my personal dislike for Captain Bjorgo."
Green sat up a little straighter and would have sat forward more except for the desk keeping her in place. "During meditation last night I caught several visions of the future. Yes, we both know that the future is always in motion, but this time it was different. I saw Ainkara. Back aboard, in the Capernum lounge, sharing free time with friends and fellow crew. Tore, I got nothing. Penni, same thing."
Taavis gave a few knowing nods as her CO spoke. When she finished, Taav had something to offer. "I trust my instincts on this, Ro. Penni is behind their disappearance. How she did it, I cannot say, but the Force keeps nudging me that direction. I've put out a few queries with some Cabal members. If they have heard anything substantial we'll know soon enough. Of course," she gave a grin as she added the next part. "I may have to cash in a favor, or two, to get the info."
"No," Green sad, deadpan, her eyes now on her PADD in her lap as she had leaned back again and began to go over more data streams.
"No?" Taavis looked confused. "No, to what?" There was a halfhearted grin on her face as she was expecting this to be some sort of joke, or tease.
"No, I will not menage a troi with you. If that is a favor to be asked, just: no." Ro waved it off, using her own willpower, the Force, and self control to remain stoic.
Taavis chuckled. "Like I would ask that of you. Ever seen a jealous Vulcan who doesn't hold back emotions? Not pretty."
Green giggled along. "I thought I had you for a minute. Stop being so cool once in a while. You always seem to be wired for sound."
Taavis grinned a she got up, went around the desk, and then leaned down and kissed Ro gently on the lips. As quickly as she had done that, she was back around the desk in the proper position for an officer addressing the CO in the Ready Room. "Anyway, just wanted to let you know that all personnel are going to begin moving their personal effects over. All day is moving day. If Nazgul undergoes a massive refit, again, she'll be space worthy in about a year. You need anything further, Captain?"
"No, thank you, Number One." Green had felt a buzz and tingling through her body as Taavis had planted the kiss on her, but now both of them were acting like it never happened and it was business as usual. Taavis was a consumate artist at tease and weave.
