Mission:
CAPERNUM: {CD&MISSION} On Duty
Location: M-69
Timeline: Current
ON:
Commander Loewen had left Taavis and green, walked a bit with Resch before he too cut and went his own way, saying something about how he needed to grab something. So, taking his arse all the way back to Capernum, Sean entered his quarters, so hoping that Len would be there since the ship was docked, and not off having a walk-about. Upon entrance, he saw Len sitting on the couch as comfy as could be as she scrolled on a PADD. "Hey, babe."
Without stopping, Loewen went into the smaller extra room and took up a civilian style duffle bag and then walked back out and unceremoniously dropped it next to the couch just below Len's torso while she was on the couch. "Pack some non-descript clothes, Doctor. As in, not Starfleet. We have an Away Mission." He paused to see what she would say.
Len nodded, sitting up. "What are we going to be posing as?"
Sean gave a grinning shrug. "Pick something. Doctors are in the civilian world as much as Starfleet. But, where we're going, we have to make out like we're not associated with government...at all. Griff," he thumbed over his shoulder to mean his absent friend. "And I are going to be slavers looking to expand our profits. So, you being a physician makes sense. You can tell us which slaves are malnourished, too skinny, all that. For cover's sake, of course. If the possibility of Ainkara wasn't there I would never consider masquerading as one of those sons-a-bitches." There was conviction behind his words.
Len grabbed the duffle bag and went into their bedroom pack some clothes, before going to the replicator and picking out a black leather outfit, with a long black jacket. She replicates the outfit and changed into it, putting her hair up into a braided ponytail. She grabbed the bag and headed back to the living room. "Will this do?"
Caught off-guard with how well she fit into said outfit, Loewen's eyes went up and down her form once, his eyes finally coming back up to meet hers. "Yeah...good look." He gave a winking grin.
The handheld comm he had put on his belt warbled so Sean pulled it out and opened it. "Go ahead, Griff."
"Ship is here. Docked in the bay reserved for Taavis. Go figure, right? Anyway, get a move on. We'll have time to sit around in transit. Resch, out." The transmission cut. Sean looked at Len as he closed the communicator. "Guess he doesn't realize that I'm the mission commander," he chuckled. "Oh well, Griff being Griff."
Len smiled, "well you heard him, let's get a move on."
Picking up his own small duffle, Loewen then took up Len's. They made their way through the station, making small talk as they went. Arriving at the bay and seeing the SS Harbinger and its unique lines and design, they went up the access ramp since the hatch above was open. Three gruff looking people, though clean, sat around in the small lounge area. One woman, two men, all appearing to be Human. "Hello, folks." A man older than his two partners stood up, a mug of electric blue liquid in hand. " I'm Miles." He motioned at the other man. "That's Nick." The fairer one is Tough Cookie. But, we just call her Cookie most of the time. We're here to make sure your ruse goes off without a hitch. But, first, we need to know where we're going."
"I don't know just yet," Loewen admitted. "We need to be free and clear so I can get a clear read." Sean never said a clear read on what. Some things should be left to mystery. "I'm Sean, this is Len, and I'm sure," his head was on a swivel as he looked around the interior portions of the ship. "You met Griffon. We just need a lift and some assistance with pulling this off."
Motioning around the room with his mug of electric blue Romulan ale, Miles gave a grin. "We got ya, folks. You paid for a ride to inspect some merchandise. We met your price and here we are. You are now paying passengers for all intents and purposes." He looked at Len last, giving her a friendly nod.
Len nodded back. "Where should we place our bags?"
Cookie got up off her place on the sofa, her own mug of Romulan ale in hand, half empty. "This way, sister. The captain's cabin is off limits to all but Taavis, so we all get to sleep in the bunk room." She kept talking as she led the way on their short jaunt. She walked into a room with six twin sized beds, stacked three high, all on the same wall. "Bunks. The three on the right are for you lot so argue who gets which one amongst yourselves." She giggled.
Miles stood in the doorway behind them. "Did one of you mention something about a doctor?"
Resch came out of the bathroom as he said that. "Yeah, I did. Why?"
Thumbing in the direction of his left, another compartment there, Miles explained. "If you have a doctor then they can sleep in the infirmary. A lone bed, sure, but also privacy."
Both of her companions looked at Len, even as Loewen took up his small duffle of items, looking to go into the bathroom himself.
Len looked at the bunks for a moment and then said," I'll take the bottom bunk, you two can fight over the other two. The bed in the infirmary should go to any patients we end up getting."
"Aww, aren't we dedicated," said Nick, the third party in the ship's crew. "But, you're not wrong."
Loewen disappeared into the bathroom/washroom.
Resch came in next to Holbrook as the other three went back out to the lounge to let them have some friend to friend privacy. "You okay, so far, Doc?"
Len nodded, "I'm alright, this isn't my first away mission. How are you doing?"
"I'm good. Just another Security assignment with a possible rescue operation attached. I'm in my element." Griffon gave her a grin.
"Who are we rescuing?" Len asked.
Resch gaave her an odd look at first, but then realized they had not really given her much info except for 'hurry, let's go'. "Lieutenant Ainkara, affectionately known as Kara to most of us, disappeared months ago along with Captain Bjorgo and Commander Billi. And..." He trailed off on that, his expression showing him thinking on what he should say. "A guest aboard the Nazgul seems the culprit responsible for their kidnapping. Her name was Penni, an AI and android type with an organic Human brain within. Anyway," he waved off any further explanation on that topic for later. "I found her to be innocent and willing to learn how to live like an actual organic. She let me down."
The washroom door opened and Loewen came back out, now sporting his Meji duds, all Starfleet paraphernalia now removed (Same Meji outfit in Green's bio, only male, of course). He had taken the hooded cloak and wrapped it around his waist, making sure to be loose enough for movement, and then he buckled it down with an equipment belt. So, the hooded cloak was now reminiscent of a hooded mantel. "We there yet?" He asked with a grin. He adjusted his saber on his left hip and kept it as hidden as possible within the folds of the cloak.
Len nodded to Resch and then grinned at Sean when he asked if they were there yet. "Not yet."
"Cookie," Loewen asked. "What position do you hold?"
"Footloose and fancy free most days." Cookie giggled at her response before actually answering. "I'm the pilot. Helm is my specialty."
Sean gave a nod and grin. "Perfect. We need to go to the Bridge and get you sat down. Once in place, I will lay my hand over yours and direct your fingers as to which keys to tap for coordinates. Trust me, it sounds weird, but it will work."
Resch watched as Loewen walked away, towards the Bridge, with the gal named Cookie. "Who name's their kid Cookie, anyway." He gave a chuckle. "One thing about Sean, he gets laser focused at times."
"Well it is one of the things I love about him." Len said, well aware that he knows about Sean and her being a couple.
After glancing around, seeing the two of them more or less alone in the main hold, Resch stepped in closer and lowered his tone for privacy. "So, what's with all this Meji stuff? I haven't actually sat down and read through the information provided. With the way Sean's dressed I assume he's a card carrying member?"
"I have not completely read up on the Meji, but yes he is a member. Anything else, you would have to talk to him about. It is for him to decide whom he wants to tell." Len said.
Griffon locked gazes with her a moment, wondering if she was being serious. From his point of view she was being very serious. Loewen had found a good one and she was protective, not to mention that her profession required her utmost discretion. "I'll have to do that. On a personal note, you two look good together." There was the slightest inertia throughout the ship, meaning it had just jumped to warp.
Loewen came back to the main hold from the Bridge, smiling like a kid. "We're on our way. Cookie cross-referenced the coordinates and it's a place called Dark Harbor." He gave a shrug. "We'll see what they're about once we arrive."
"Dark Harbor? Seriously? That's where Kara ended up?" Resch showed he was quite surprised by that news. "That place is a fortress compared to most. Orbital defense platforms, orbital docking stations, not to mention a massive population center on the planet. It is all completely independent from any government, and are often in diplomatic talks to keep governments away from their territory. Starfleet has been fired at, across the bow, several times over the years, warning us off."
"Well, then at least it'll be interesting." Len said.
Sean gave a grin at that. "I'm here to look around, not fight a criminal empire. If Kara, or anyone else is here we will free them and haul jets out of here. That's the goal." His eyes went back and forth between his two companions.
Len nodded, "Agreed."
"I agree," Resch responded. "I don't know how well trained their people are, but they have numbers, I know that much."
Sean put a hand on each of their shoulders, squeezing like a friend. "No worries. There will not be a fight unless we have no choice. Let's get rested up, relax for a while, before we land at Dark Harbor." Sean let their shoulders go and walked over to the sofa, sitting down at one end of it, his eyes showing he was in thought on aspects of this mission. He glanced at Len, patting the spot next to him, before he went back into thinking.
Resch went and took a solo chair at the small dining table, putting his own duffle close to his feet.
Len sat down next to Sean and laid her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes.
Before too long, all three had scooted down in their seats to catch naps. Resch actually moved to the other end of the sofa as he leaned back and closed his eyes. Loewen had his mind working on remaining calm, at peace, to better sense everything around him. He had not had much cause to use the Force in his daily life, but now that he had began, it just felt right. Like just another extension of his being. Before long, he too gave in to a nap.
