Capernum: Almost There

The USS Capernum was due at her destination any minute now. During the flight, Lt. JG Jynxza had been on the Bridge conferring with the engineering station. The man at the FC station was due to get off duty, and this was announced along with the other extra officers on the Bridge who were off duty for the Bridge. Lieutenant Jynxza just so happened to be on the Bridge when it all happened, conferring with the Bridge engineering station. She heard Captain Green give Taavis the order to call for a flight control officer.

Jynxza stepped in quickly, speaking before Taavis even had a chance to move her arm. "Number One. Captain." Both command officers were now all attentive on her. "Lt. Jynxza, Sciences and Engineering. I can take Flight Control, Sirs. As I am in Command Division training it would look good on my record to actually man a Bridge station, if you'll allow?"

Both command officers exchanged a look, then Green looked to the Trill officer. "Well met, Lt. Jynxza. Number One, thoughts?" Ro had asked this because she could hear the ever so slight bleeps of Taavis speed typing on her PADD.

Taavis, seeing what she needed to, responded and brought her face up. "The Lieutenant is a certified Flight Control/Helm officer. Although, for some reason, she chose to go with Science and Engineering."

Green checked her internal chronometer just before she spoke. "You have two minutes as to why we should choose you, Lieutenant. Please, do tell."

Jynxza went through a short list of reasons, and itsy-bitsy explanations, and then as she finished and decided to go for broke. "But, aside from all that, I just really want to be on the Bridge, as Jynxza, during an actual mission." She gave a non-committal shrug.

Taavis and Green shared another look, some subtle nods, and then Ro turned away from the two and went back towards her chair.

Taavis Gave the Helm officer leave to go, then gave a head wave for Jynxza to come over. "All yours, Lt. Jynxza." She said as the Trill officer sat down and began to examine what data was where.

All was good, so Jynxza set it to standby and then moved the data screens to different places, for her own personal liking. It took her all of fifteen seconds and then she was ready. Putting Helm back on active instead of auto-pilot she then leaned back dutifully in her chair and looked up at Taavis. "We're good, Number One."

Remaining next to the Helm chair to her left, Taavis clasped her hands and PADD behind her back and faced forward. "For everything there is a first time, Lieutenant," she said as she looked down at the other woman and grinned.

Jynxza gave a crooked grin and a nod, lip-syncing 'thank you'. After that she was on task.
