::ON::

[Peel Bridge]

Captain O'Connell was sitting at Command when his comm went off "O'Connell, go ahead."

"Captain this is Commander Devroe, the Away Team is ready to disembark; hopefully we'll have some good news by day's end.

"Understood Commander. Be safe and please check in regularly" O'Connell ordered.

"Will do Captain, see you later" Devroe replied then turning to the Operator "Energize."

[Valdaron]

Standing outside of the Complex Angel ordered with a smile "Ok Team, let's get to the bottom of the problem and get this place fixed" as the rest of the Team nodded in agreement. Lieutenant SanChez stood surveying the area looking for any potential dangers after what had happened to the Commander.

A couple of hours went by with Engineering working on the Complex's Computer checking it system by system. The Commander walked over with Maria following "Lieutenant Flannery how are you progressing with things" she inquired.

"Good, I think. Ensign O'Hara and I are into the nuts and bolts of the system so hopefully we'll have some answers soon" Marcus replied.

"Excellent Lieutenant, keep me apprised on your progress" Angel commented with a smile.

"Sure thing Commander" Marcus replied before getting back to work.

Looking at SanChez, Devroe couldn't help but notice Maria's demeanor "Lieutenant a word please" as Angel and Maria walked a distance away from the rest of the Team "Maria, you need to relax before you get an ulcer or something" Angel commented with a grin.

"Apologies Commander, but I promised the Captain I'd keep you safe.....so ya I guess I'm a little high strung at the moment" Maria replied taking the task at hand very seriously.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciate you being here watching my back" Devore commented "And you will keep me safe but please relax a little is all I'm saying."

"Understood Commander" she replied a she eased up on herself a little.

O'Hara and Flannery were still going through the Computer when O'Hara stopped and looked at the Chief "You slippery bitch!!" she stated before realizing what she had just said "Oh sorry Chief....I wasn't referring to you.....someone has found a 'back door' and controlling the Computer from there. To make things worse it looks like they have been able to control the power output keeping it low enough so the Ring would no longer rotate."

Marcus couldn't help but grin "Well I was hoping you weren't talking about me.....so can you fix it Ensign" he inquired still grinning.

"Yes, I can write some code to patch the vulnerability then I'll add some more code to the firewall.....that should fix the problem and get the rotation going again." Angie replied.

"Good you work on that while I inform the Commander what you've found" Marcus stated then turned to find Devroe. A few minutes later "Commander Ensign O'Hara has found the problem and is attempting to fix it. Long story short someone has had access to the Computer who shouldn't have and controlling it themselves keeping the power low enough to prevent any rotation in the process" he explained.

A smile came across Devroe's face "Excellent work Lieutenant; that certainly is a big relief. So how soon will it be repaired."

"Just as soon as Ensign O'Hara gets her code written and inserted in the operating system; hopefully pretty soon" Marcus replied with a smile then turned to go back and help Angie.

Tapping her Comm "Captain O'Connell, Engineering has located the problem and is in the process of repairing it as we speak; hopefully not much longer" Angel shared.

< "That is good news. As soon as your finished return to the Ship. There's been a few developments since you've been gone that I need to go over with you" O'Connell explained. >

"Understood Captain....we'll be back as soon as we can. Devroe out."

As another hour and a half rolled on by Engineering were making real progress. Angel realized she hadn't seen that General at all today which was a pity since she had looked forward to confronting him. Walking over to a gentleman who seemed to be in charge "Excuse me, I'm Commander Devroe from the USS Peel. I haven't seen the General today at all" she stated with a smile.

"Commander Devroe so nice to meet you; I'm Sub General Dinkins" he replied returning her smile "And you probably won't either. It seems the good General walked in early this morning and resigned his commission then turned in his keys" as he paused "Word is he hopped the first transport out of here leaving his wife and home behind" as he lowered his voice "If you ask me I think he was up to his eyeballs in some pretty kinky shit."

"Trust me, I can attest to that first hand" Devroe replied. At least she had the satisfaction of knowing that son of a bitch sort of got his having to leave his home and family behind; hopefully he'll rot in hell!!

A short time later Angie had everything set to go as she turned to Marcus "I'm all set here. I'm going to take the Computer offline, inset both sets of code, and then bring it back online; hopefully all will be well again" she explained,

"Good I'll watch the screens and watch the power output; fingers crossed this works" Marcus replied hoping for success.

About five minutes later "OK the code's been inserted now I'll bring the system back online" Angie explained. Bringing the Computer back online she thought to herself "Come on baby make me look good."

A few minutes later the Computer came alive once again. Watching the screens carefully everything seemed to be working as they should. Several minutes later Marcus called out "Rotation will start in 3..2..1..rotation's starting" he called. Suddenly you could feel the floor vibrate, not unlike the feeling of the warp core on the Ship's deck plates "Excellent work Ensign O'Hara" Lieutenant Flannery stated "I could almost kiss you."

Angie giggled "So what's stopping you" she replied with a smirk having had her eye on Marcus for some time now "Thanks Chief, I couldn't have done it without you."

Commander Devroe walked over "Fantastic job you two" then turning to Angie "Not to question your abilities but will this continue working" Angel inquired with a smile.

"I believe so Ma'am but I would like to remain for another hour just to be sure; with your permission of course" Ensign O'Hara replied with a smile.

"Yes of course; may as well make sure before we return to the Ship" the Commander answered very pleased at least this problem had been solved.

{Hour later}

Ensign O'Hara walked over to Angel "Commander everything is working as expected. I did tell their computer person to contact me should a problem arise" she explained with a smile.

"Can't their computer person see to any problems, should they arise" Angel inquired being somewhat curious.

"From what I can gather they know how to do maintenance and general upkeep on the Computer but any sort of coding is way over their heads" Angie explained But if a problem hasn't shown itself by now I'm confident the system is going to be just fine."

"Good! grab Lieutenant Flannery and we'll get out of here" The Commander ordered. Turning Angel saw Maria a few paces behind her still doing a visual scan of their surroundings "Ms. SanChez, you ready to get out of here?"

"Yes I am" Maria replied with a grin tired of being bored to death.

Hearing the Commander, Angie would like nothing better than to literally grab Marcus, as a smirk came across her face, but I suppose that would be against regulations and protocol.

Minutes later everyone was assembled as Angel tapped her comm "Peel....Devroe.....four to return." Moments later the Away Team was gone and back home aboard the Peel.
