Dr Hiri finished up her home and made time to meet with Leaf Brol concerning her future plans. After she had packed her personal belongings.

Once that was done the Caitian met Leaf on the promenade and had that discussion. But seeing Captain Shauna Vehn sitting at a table she decided to join her.

" Captain have you got a few minutes?" Hiri asked.

“Hello Doctor” Shauna smiled warmly motioning to a seat. “Please join me.”

" Captain I was hoping to see you. I have completed my senior officers Mclex testing. I passed to get my Doctorate in Xenological Medicine. I was offered a position on the Warchief as chief medical officer and have decided to take it." Hiri explained.

“You’re leaving us?” Shauna was surprised. “As much as you’ll be missed Hiri, I think Congratulations are in order. You’ve worked hard and you deserve this.”

" I was the first Doctor aboard but I was not the most qualified for Chief until I took the last Mclex. Now I am eligible for a chiefs slot. Leaving will be bitter sweet. Myar may join me as an engineer. My only hold-up is Leaf Brol. I promised to raise him, I did and now he is to join the Starfleet soon. Unless I can ask a friend to extend his assignment aboard M-69?"

Shauna smiled warmly. “I don’t see why not, but if he wants to attend the Academy then I won’t stop him.”

Cadet Leaf Brol had weather the Assul and now planned his trip back to the Academy. His ultimate goal was to become a science officer on a star ship and if fate worked out maybe get a posting on the Peel or the Capernaum.

Strolling around the promenade Leaf saw Hiri and Captain Shauna Vehn sitting in a restaurant. He usually avoided such places as he did not eat human food but he was thirsty.

" Hello, I hope I am not intruding?" Leaf commented.

" No Leaf I am just touching base with the Captain." Hiri replied.

" I could sense you thinking of me. Captain I like it here a lot. The Arboretum is amazing. Is it possible to get reposted here after my Academy session? I am studying to be a biologist." Leaf added.

“How would you like to continue your Academy studies here Leaf?” Shauna offered with a warm smile. “The Academy does allow students to continue their studies whilst posted on an assignment.”

" I would love that. I am half human so I know what love is . Hiri is like another Mother to me. I suppose you could be like my big sister? Enough is my Captain of course." Leaf replied

“Excellent” Shauna smiled warmly. “I’ll organise it for you, and arrange for remote sessions where necessary.”

Hiri purred and the Brol being did as well , his features becoming more human every day. Hiri stood up and she and Leaf exited the restaurant. She was happy and sad to be leaving but at least Leaf would not be alone.

Isabelle smiled as she arrived in time to see Hiri and Leaf leaving together. She offered Shauna a polite smile. “I have to admit I miss being part of Brol.”

“Part of Brol?” Shauna gave Isabelle a curious look.

“Long story short, when Brol was here he made me part Brol. My eyes changed colour, I could understand plants like never before, but I started changing physically which unfortunately had to be stopped. It was a unique experience though.”

“I can imagine it was” Shauna grinned. “Perhaps you should get to know Leaf, he's remaining onboard to continue his academy studies.”

Isabelle nodded. “Perhaps I will, I’d like that.”

Leaf turned around and smiled at both as he and Hiri exited the promenade to get onto a lift.
