Posted on Sat Aug 2nd, 2025 @ 11:36pm by Captain Taavis {SF/Meji Intel} {Meji} & Lieutenant Commander Sheyla {MD} & Lieutenant JG Jynxza Dahl

Mission: Stellar Problems
Location: USS Capernum
Timeline: Current

ON:

The USS Capernum continued her leisurely one-quarter impulse speed along the border between Federation space and that of the Rift Alliance. Dahl had been given the center seat while Taavis stepped from the Bridge, with Commander Sheyla following along. It could not have been more than twenty minutes before Taavis returned to the Bridge, with Jynxza relinquishing the command chair to Number One, as per protocol.

"Thank you, Miss Dahl." Taavis sat down and crossed her legs at the thigh, reaching down to bring up the CO's command PADD from the holder on the side of the chair. Going over the transfer of command section she saw that all had been taken care of, and she was the Commanding Officer of the USS Capernum as of thirteen minutes ago. Excellent. "T'Pri, shipwide intercom, please."

T'Pri acknowledged the order and set it up, giving a nod to Taavis that it was ready. Taavis laid the PADD on her thigh and spoke out loud to the receivers within the Bridge. "Crew of Capernum, this is Captain Taavis. As of fifteen minutes ago Captain Green transferred command of this ship to me as Commanding Officer. There will be some changes coming but, for now, please continue with your duties in the exemplary way you always have. My command style will come along smoothly, you have my word, so we can continue to serve both Starfleet and the Federation to the best of our ability. Thank you for your ear, Captain out." She saw T'Pri switch the channel off. Good, the first step was done. As she sat there going over reports, Green called up from shuttle bay two, and they went back and forth briefly before Green cut the transmission. Dahl watched her lateral sensor array, impressed by this so called X-wing and its maneuverability.

"Angel One is away, Captain," Dahl announced and then her eyes went wide, with her turning to look back at Taavis. "She disappeared from our sensors, completely, Captain."

Taavis gave her a grin, her eyes showing that she knew why but was not going to relinquish that knowledge to Jynxza. Not at this time, anyway. "All is well, Lieutenant. Trust me. The X-wing has abilities none of our ships have. Light speed and how they attain it is one of them. Classified, of course. Station, please."

Dahl gave a nod of understanding to the extremely vague explanation, and turned back to her console when prompted.

"On another note, Miss Jynxza," said Taavis. "You are now promoted to Flight Control Chief, effective immediately. Once Mister Loewen returns you can move in to your new quarters as he vacates."

Jynxza could not help but look back again, the surprise clear in her eyes. "Aye, Sir. Thank you." She put face forward once more.

Taavis was glad to see she was pleased with the information and knew thw woman was probably wondering what the devil was going on with Commander Loewen. She would know soon enough. "Miss Dahl. Once we hear word from the away team we will be heading to M-69. Please, input the coordinates as our next destination. Set for warp five."

"You got it, Captain." Jynxza's skilled hands floated over her console and tapped away, setting it all up. "Ready when you give the word, Captain." She got a thank you in response.

Sheyla stepped onto the Bridge from the port lift, hands clasped behind her back as her casual gait carried her over to the command dais, which she mounted to stand next to the chair. "Captain Green's belongings have been packed, Captain. They are now being moved to the personnel cargo bay."

"Thanks for that, Sheyla." Taavis looked up at her Intel officer. "Would you be opposed to Intel Chief and 2XO, Commander?"

"Not at all, Captain." said Sheyla. Nothing more. "I'll walk the Bridge until we hear more." She turned away and did just that.
