Mission: Stellar Problems
Location: M-69
Timeline: current/somewhere in between

ON:

Ro Green and Ainkara arrived in the front office for Captain Shauna Vehn, seeing two assistant desks they could approach. They both wore their Meji garb complete with Green's brown overcloak with hood back, and Kara wearing her wrap around shawl, also with the hood back. Both had used the sonic shower to not only clean themselves but also their attire to show respect to Shauna in her position and arrive in a pristine state. With Ro leading they approached the desk of the Human male seeing to duty items on his screen. The man looked up when they got to the other side of his desk. "Greetings. How may I help you?"

Ro offered the opening statement. "I am Captain Ro Green, with Lieutenant Ainkara, here to see Captain Vehn if she has the time. It is an official meeting, please."

"I see," the Ensign acknowledged, then tapped the comm key for Vehn's office. "Captain Vehn, there is a Captain Green here to see you, along with her companion, Lt. Ainkara. They are requesting a meeting, with Captain Green stating it is an official capacity."

Shauna was busy going over reports, but was curious to say the least. “Please send them in Ensign.” Getting up from her seat she stood waiting, wanting to offer a polite greeting.

Being granted access, Green thanked the Ensign and went through the main office door, seeing Shauna standing in front of her desk to greet her guests. Ro could not help but smile upon seeing the Captain. "Shauna, always a pleasure," she said as she closed the distance and extended her hand for a shake. Kara followed closely behind but remained silent.

“Nice to see you again” Shauna smiled as she exchanged pleasantries, offering a nod to Kara as well. “Please take a seat, what can I do for you?”

Green remained standing knowing that what she was going to tell Vehn, and the other command officers, probably would not be met with understanding. "First, my apologies to you, Captain. I have been so caught up with my own doings that I tended to ignore the others around me. You, Sureth, and David, to be exact. So, I am here to offer a solution to correcting that, if possible. However, I will need all of you here together so I can relay my plans to all of you face-to-face." She finished that bit, her grin returning as she glanced down at Vehn's abdomen before her gaze went back to her eyes. "And, on a personal note, congratulations on a successful symbiosis."

Kara had felt the Symbiont within Vehn, as well. When Ro had brought attention to it she then decided to finally speak. "From me, as well, Captain Vehn. May you and your symbiont enjoy a long life together."

“Thank you” Shauna smiled warmly. “I never expected to ever be considered for joining, so I consider myself very fortunate.” She paused. “As for your apologies they’re really not necessary, you’re here now that’s what matters.”

Feeling that calm easiness coming from Shauna was a relief to Ro. She thought this might go off the rails quickly. Another part of not being around enough, she really did not know her compatriots as well as she should, or could. "So glad to hear you say that. Would it be difficult to have Sureth and David attend this meeting? If so, I can tell you what I have planned and we can go from there when they can attend. I know Mister Wallace tends to be busier than most."

“I’ll give them a call see what happens” Shauna tapped the comms. “Vehn to Commodore Sureth, and Commander Wallace please come to my office if you’re available, Thank you.” She offered Ro a smile. “Now we wait.”

Ro glanced around the office, seeing all of Vehn's personal deco. Kara came up next to her. "Master, am I needed here?"

Green looked her in the eyes, trying to read her through those portals to the soul since she had her defenses up and could not be sensed. "No, Kara. You may go. Anything to do with you I will handle. See you later."

Kara gave a bow from the neck, then turned and did the same to Shauna. "Good to see you again, Captain Vehn. I will leave you and Master Ro to your business. Good day." Spinning on her heel she then exited the office.

Shauna gave Ro a curious look. “Is she alright? She seemed uncomfortable?”

Ro met Shauna's gaze with her own, giving an affirmative nod. "She is fine. I recently added her to the Meji Order as my apprentice. Beyond that, her time on Dark Harbor as a slave was extremely unpleasant. As a woman I'm sure you can understand why. We're working through it. I appreciate your concern, as I am sure she would too."

Commodore Sureth joined in as he arrived to Captain Vehn’s office.
" Captain what can I do for you?" Sureth asked.

“Commodore, thank you for coming” Shauna smiled warmly. “I’m sure you remember Captain Ro Green, she requested your presence here.”

" Certainly. How may I be of service Captain Green?" Sureth asked.

Green gave Sureth a bow/nod from the neck, grinning at his ever-present gentlemanly behavior. "Agreeable to see you again, Commodore Sureth. I was hoping Mister Wallace could be here too, but seeing as how my time is limited and he is a busy man I shall begin without him." Ro pulled herself together and put her focus on why she had come to Vehn's office. "In short, to get the conversation started, I am considering stepping down as Fleet Captain for this sector and moving to Inactive Reserve: Starfleet. The reason; I need to focus on the Meji Order while maintaining my rank and privilege. If circumstances require my service then my inactive status can be upgraded until such circumstances pass. I have already began the steps towards this goal by transferring command of the USS Capernum to Captain Taavis. As Fleet Captain I made that one of my final orders and she agreed. Admiral Stone has also been apprised of this decision but insisted I discuss it with you and your command staff. Namely; Captain Vehn and Commander Wallace." With all due seriousness and respect, Green finished and waited.

"Religion is very important. I would not presume to debate that. Captain Taavis is a good choice and she has my respect. As for the actual permission that is up to Captain Vehns approval." Sureth replied.

Ro gave a nod to Sureth's plain and logical approach. "Of course." She then looked to Vehn and added something before the Captain could voice her own opinion. "The Meji Order is ready and willing to serve with Starfleet, to aid in their accomplishments as an accepted body within the Federation. In that, I intend to maintain a home here on M-69 and, as with all Meji, we will serve to promote the ideals if the UFP and Starfleet by working alongside each other. Several officers are already Meji within this sector. Kara being one of them, and here are my orders that move her to inactive reserve, as well. Captain Vehn, if you feel I need to be ever present here, and maintain fleet captain, I will do so."

“Not at all Ro” Shauna shook her head. “I’m perfectly happy for you to continue with your plan, there’s no need to keep you where you feel you’re not required."

"It is pleasing to hear that, Shauna." Ro responded. "Just know that the Meji are here at your disposal. Like the Samurai were for their people and leader. We live to serve the UFP and to uphold its ideals as originally intended. If we find corruption within the ranks and politics, we will deal with it by law and put an end to it. If there is a compromise that would allow me to remain as fleet captain and Meji Founder, I haven't thought of it yet." She gave a grin at that.

“I think that would be in the hands of the fleet brass” Shauna offered. “At least this way you have free rein to do as you wish.”

"After twenty-plus years of service it is a hard decision to make, and one I don't relish." Ro said. "As Fleet Captain I am in charge of all starships not directly connected to M-69. Capernum falls into that category as a cruiser sent out to this sector by Starfleet Command, with M-69 as her home port. The Peel and others are under your jurisdiction as base CO. Hmm." Green rubbed her chin in thought. An epiphany hit her brain and she smiled even as she snapped her fingers at the thought. "That's it! I can do both. I am simply a high ranking liaison between HQ and the ships out here." She gave a slap to her forehead and shook her head as she felt like a fool. "Apologies to you both, the brain is now running a mile a minute."

Sureth raised an eyebrow and looked over to Shauna to get her impressions. Shauna had once been a shy officer but now she was his Number One. Their connection to Head Quarters had went well with Green and Taavis being the stations link.

Green got herself back to her more serious self, clearing her throat with a bit of embarrassment. "It seems I wasted your time, Captain, Commodore. One of the tenets of the Meji is patience, and I failed to heed that. I rushed in headlong without meditating first. Even a Master has to take time to reflect." She looked to them both in humility. "Even with this faux pas, I hope that it can be overlooked. I will maintain my position as Fleet Captain, here to aid you both. As Meji and a Starfleet command officer. I will see to Kara and her inactive reserve status since she has chosen to follow the Meji way of life. Again, my apologies. I would ask for one favor, if I may?"

" Captain Vehn runs the station and I suppose I am more of an emeritus officer. That said having a liaison to head quarters is an added benefit. Is the Capernaum in dock?"

"Yes, Commodore." Green answered. "We flew in with her as she entered docking procedures. Kara and I then left her and landed our own craft in a free trader bay. I will make sure to apply my Starfleet paraphernalia to my 'robes' post-haste, Sir."

David was in a turbolift when he got paged, his bag was slung over his shoulder as he made his way towards the offices, he felt decidedly out of place as he walked closer too the office he realized a dress casual uniform was not a good idea, but he was scheduled to depart for Axnar in forty minutes, he quietly nodded too the XO and spoke softly to the Commodore "You needed to see me before I leave?"

" The Fleet Captain shared some ideas with us but it does not effect your mission Commander Wallace. " Sureth replied.

David smiled quickly, "I can spare a few minutes if I'm needed."

"Glad you could make it, Commander." Green said in greeting. "I was informing the Commodore and Captain that the Meji Order will be frequenting M-69 more regularly, and if needed, will take part in any Starfleet operations and missions if requested. We have no problems taking orders from mission commanders when asked to participate. Also, Capernum is now under the command of Captain Taavis. I will be spending more time here as a go-between for the Meji and my Fleet Captain duties."

Sureth then added. " Captain Green please set up a meeting with Fleet Captain Vehn concerning those Fleet allocations. The Commander is about to leave to secure for us two more ships for this sector and one of which will be under her jurisdiction while the other could fall under yours." Sureth added.

"Gladly, Commodore." Ro had centered herself again, now the confidant officer she usually was. "Also, if Meji needs take me away from M-69, Ladies and gentlemen, I will do as I have done in the past. Mister Lasso will take over the administration of the Fleet Captain position. He is the Flight Control Chief for M-69, which means he has up to the minute knowledge of all base assets and their locations, and an intimate knowledge of all space lanes in regards to this facility. He will not outrank anyone, he is there to administer only, if you agree."

" I never interfere in general staffing Captain Ro, but I do rely on Captain Vehn to attend to those duties. So long as the work gets done that is satisfactory to me. Lieutenant Commander Wallace is Second Officer.snd Chief of Intelligence and between you three I know this station is is good hands." Sureth added.

Green gave a respectful bow from the neck to Sureth. "David and Shauna have both worked hard to get this station where it is today, Commodore. I am merely here to add to their variety of resources to accomplish success but, I thank you for the confidence. Without you, Sir, none of us would be here."

" I am needed in another capacity as father so if you will excuse me Captain Vehn you have the room." Sureth replied as he exited.

David took a note from the Commodore, "I should get going myself, my transport is scheduled to leave in less than thirty minutes." he turned to be polite to the guest "I hope we'll be able to talk more when I get back."

Shauna offered a warm smile to all. “Then it seems were sorted.”

Just before the men left the office even as they headed for the door, and a polite nod to Vehn, Green gave her own parting words. "Thank you, all, for being here. I, too, have items that need my attention." Saying that, and being done here, Green turned and followed the men out of the the CO's office.
