Once she had left Doctor Ramvek Williams, Ro went to an au fresco eatery and sat down at one of the tables in a curved out section of railing, where the 'outside' eating experience could be felt. Here, at these tables, one could view the Promenade all around them, and if close enough to the railing, could see the Promenade below, as well. Pulling out her palm PADD, Green set up an appointment to see the Doctor some time next week, to see how Yui's gestation was progressing, and to make sure that nothing was wrong. Ro had knowledge of medicine, but mainly for emergency situations. So, having Williams as her physician made her feel so much better. On a personal note, Green hoped that Ken would be okay with the name Yui. It was Japanese, and she had chosen it to honor him as her father, but would it be a name he liked. If not, it could always be her middle name. Sipping her mug of green tea Ro had to smile at herself for that. She could not help but wonder what people would think when she became Captain Ro Kudo, married to Lieutenant Ken Kudo. She smiled to herself at the thought. Tapping her palm PADD to standby, Ro put it away and got up, leaving two strips of latinum for a tip. Credits were one thing, but hard currency was always sought after by those in the service industry. She headed for her next destination.
Sitting in the back office, Kara had been hard at work doing the books. Expenses paid, wares to be ordered, and everything in-between. At times it seemed harder than filling out Starfleet reports. But, with a sigh and blowing a lock of hair away from her face, she leaned back in her chair and took a moment to relax as she had finished this week's needs. The speaker on the desk sounded.
"Kara, Ro Green is here to see you," Manny said from the other end.
Kara sat up and tapped the key. "Send her back, Manny. Thanks." The box clicked off from his end. She stood up even as she saw Green turn the corner in the kitchen area to head this way, the woman breaking into a smile when she saw her old student. When she came into the office the two women hugged and rocked each other a few times, with Kara detecting the mass amount of joy from Ro. She stepped back and motioned to a chair in front of the desk as she went around and sat down. "Good to see you, Master Ro. You seem happy these days. What can I do for you?"
Green, having taken the offered seat, gave a big smile at what Kara had said. "I am very happy, thanks for noticing. Good to see you too. I like the new look. Fierce and beautiful are a rare combination but it fits you well. As for what you can do for me, I have a huge favor to ask for tomorrow night."
Being able to Sense Ro's exuberance, there was also something she was not saying, something hidden. The Force was either unwilling to aid Kara in this, or Ro, knowing her student's abilities, was masking something. She smiled as she sat forward. "Tell you what. Let's compromise. If I say yes to this favor then you tell me why you're so happy, and what you're hiding little Miss Smiley-Pants." She giggled.
Green gave a grinning scrunchy face of thought, looking up at the ceiling a moment in thought. Her eyes came back to Kara in a sidelong gaze, those eyes twinkling with mirth and humor; and chock full of joy. Green's head went back to a normal stance, the grins and smiles no less prevalent. "Fine, you have a deal. On one condition." She giggled when Kara's smile matched hers, and then the eyebrows raised askance on the condition. "You tell no one else. I mean it, Kara, please tell no one else. It's a huge surprise for Ken."
Kara got up enough to reach over the desk towards Ro with her right hand, which had formed into a fist with just the pinky sticking out. "Pinky shake, you have my word."
Green died laughing even as she did the pinky shake. "Where the hell did you learn that?" More laughing.
Giving a casual shrug as she sat back down, Kara laughed along. "That's classified," she giggled.
"Griffon taught you that, didn't he?" Ro asked.
"In a manner of speaking, yes," Kara admitted. "Let's just say he pointed me in the right direction." It had been a while since the two of them got to cut up and get caught up. It felt good. "Okay, Miss Nosey, what's this favor?"
"Damn," said Green. "Been here ten minutes and already gained two new accolades. A new personal record." More laughter between them. "Anyway, I want to throw Ken a birthday bash here at Bliss. It's big enough and the right atmosphere for such a thing. Plus, all of your favorite vagabonds will be there. But, I have a show I want to do for Ken, a Japanese show, and I need to set it up right with your holo-system for the performance."
"Shouldn't be a problem." Kara said. "We can start right now if you'd like. Holosuites are upstairs so we can go into the main control room and make sure the holo-emitters are all set for what you need, then add in whatever else. Sound good?"
"That would be perfect," Ro responded.
Taking up an admin PADD for Bliss, Kara came around the desk and the ladies headed upstairs.

Two hours later the both of them came out of the holosuite control room, smiling and laughing as they had been telling stories to one another, jokes, and a few secrets. Ro had told Kara about her pregnancy, and Kara had reciprocated by telling Ro about Griffon. Kara had even admitted she knew nothing about Kudo and Green's hook-up, with Ro explaining that they had kept it on the down-low. They now stood along the upper railing for the club, looking down into the main floor from above and behind the stage.
"Once she's born I'll introduce you to Yui." Ro said. During their work on the holo-project for Ro's special show to Ken she had divulged the unique gestation that her augment physiology and biology were causing. "Something tells me she'll age like Higan, Kehlani's son. Towards the end of the first month she'll probably be close to trying to walk. I wasn't born this way, I got my genes realigned by some Reman religious zealots. Whatever they did turned me into super Ro. I hate the label augment because I'm not one. Thinking more along the DC comics, I prefer Meta-Human."
"Like Wonder Woman," said Kara, knowing exactly what she was talking about. When looked at her surprised that she knew the reference, Kara gave a shrug. "Back on Nazgul, when Resch and I first formed our bond, I told him I felt lost because I had no culture to speak of. So, he told me to find one I liked and adopt it to myself, and his first option presented was Earth and Human culture. Being told that I dove into music, movies, any and all sources so I could understand what it meant, culturally, to be Human." She giggled and smiled. "He failed to tell me that Human culture was a base term and that it was the ethnic cultures that made Humans what they were. Needless to say, I checked them all out and took to memory those I liked most. I have a great love for music, movies, books and other forms of entertainment. Your show looks to kick ass. I'll have to look up the Japanese metal band your using for it."
Green kept smiling at Kara as she listened. When the woman finished talking Ro started. "I love music. All kinds of music. If it sounds good to my ear and has awesome performances, I'll listen to it. Plus, I learned quickly due to my changes, how to play almost every musical instrument Earth has to offer. Especially for rock and metal. Good exercise to beat the skins now and again. I'll have to back off for a while once Yui is born, but there is always acoustic guitar I can play for her."
Kara nodded along. "I've been practicing when I can too. On Dark Harbor, in our OPS center, I had a squad-sized shower all to myself, and would belt out songs while bathing. Nano seemed to like it." She gave a sudden laugh and had to catch herself, seeing Ro giving her a smile but also a look of wondering why she had laughed. Kara told her the story about Nano and the 'sockets' comment which did make Ro laugh.
"They do that. Cosmo has caught me off-guard a few times. Anyway," said Ro, giving a hug. "I have to get going. Admiral Stone will be calling and I need to take it. Thanks again, Kara. We'll see you tomorrow. Resch and Kudo are friends so I'm sure he'll be there, too, one way or another."
Kara walked Ro to the entrway, said goodbye, and then went back inside to start learning how to sling drinks.
