Location: M-69

ON:

Sitting at her dining table in her suite, Ro Green had set up a new alarm to wake her soon-to-be husband up. After the party last night they had come back here, enjoyed some ardent love making and then curled up in bed and crashed out. One thing she loved about Ken was, when sleeping, his breathing could get heavy but he never snored. Did she herself snore? Ken had never said anything about it so she assumed that she did not. But, this morning, Ro had set up a new alarm for her fiance'. And, awaiting that moment when it would sound off, she sat in the chair on the outside of the table towards the common room, able to see into the bedroom from there. She had also locked the bedroom door open to watch the reaction. She could be quite the trickster at times, and now was definitely a good time for it. She kept smiling to herself as she ate her breakfast; Tamago (sweet, layered omelet [tamagoyaki]), a small bowl of Natto (fermented soy beans) and grilled salmon diced and put atop a small portion of steamed white rice. Of course, she used chopsticks to eat with and had a knife handy to cut the omelet up into bites sizeable enough to be taken up by the chopsticks. There were extra portions in readiness for Ken once he was up and ready for his day.

Looking to the clock once more, Ro saw a ten second countdown and smiled. Leaning back to await the new alarm and to see her man react to it, she waited as she counted down in her head. Three-two-one. Once again the roar of the mighty Gojira pierced the air, set to a high volume, and followed by the Godzilla theme. She herself actually loved the theme and it was so much better when done by a modern 21st century orchestra. Down the hall that roar had Ken sit bolt upright in bed, which made her giggle and smile. Not a sitting up in fear, just that of a sudden loud noise all around him as he slept. Reaching out Green tapped the key to minimize volume to a conversational level. "Good morning, my Love." She giggled again.

"You are an evil woman," Ken said in jest even as he began to get up and put his robe on.

"I love you, too." Ro replied, her smile even bigger now that she would get to spend time with him. "I laid your uniform out on the bed after putting it in the refresher. Boots on floor below."

"Thank you, babe." Came from down the hall. Green knew his first priority was always the shower. He as was meticulous about his hygiene as she was. The theme played on for five minutes, which she turned up a little to enjoy it while he showered. If she were Gojira, she too would stand tall and kick some ass to that music. She finished eating her breakfast, cleaned up her own dishes, then sat back down to enjoy some tea.

Ken came out of the bedroom dressed in his uniform for the day. Upon seeing some traditional Japanese breakfast dishes he smiled, kissed her as he sat down, and then began to dish up. "You know, Ro, you don't have to do everything Japanese. I was born in Japan, but I was raised in Hawaii around more family."

"I know, Ken." Green said. "But, I have always loved Japanese culture, so much so I even learned the language and dialects. Now, I can indulge my affection for it all and honor my lover at the same time. I have no qualms about living Japanese. I welcome it. So much so I hope Yui looks far more like you than me." She gave a smile.

"Really?" That came as a surprise. Something he never expected to hear, so Ken spoke about it from his point of view. "I hope she looks like both of us, in some way. Like, a Japanese girl with mom's blue eyes. Or, even better, green eyes as the combination between us."

Ro had to tease him because of his answer, as sweet as it was, still having 'a Japanese girl' as a description of their daughter, but having off-colored eyes due to the mother not being from Nippon. "Just the eye color, huh?" She gave a shrug along with a teasing grin. "I can live with that."

Finishing his breakfast Kudo slid the plate aside and leaned in towards her, smiling. "You know what I mean." She leaned in and kissed him quick. He went to say something when his palm PADD vibrated in his hip pocket. Pulling it out he read the message from the ship. "Damn."

"What?" Green's attention was immediately focused on his expression.

"A recall," Kudo explained. "Capernum has a mission from Command."

"Oh," said Ro, slumping back in her seat. Not that she was against his going, she was Starfleet after all, but the timing was shit. "I'll clean this up when I get back. Let me get dressed and I'll walk you to the gangway." She got up and went into the bedroom, putting on her uniform, having switched from mock-neck shirt and tunic to the maternity style long shirt/tunic, red for Command Division. She knew that with an accelerated gestation, Yui was bound to start showing faster than she would expect. Once dressed she went back out to the common room, seeing Ken standing near to the door. He seemed deep in thought. "You okay?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just thinking about something." Kudo got them moving and they left the suite, walking along and turning where they needed to head for the docking arm. "What would you think if I asked for a transfer to M-69?"

His saying that almost made Ro stop in her tracks, with some effort to keep walking as she really wanted to address that topic while facing him. But, he had to get to his ship. "If that's some kind of joke, Ken, I'm not amused. What do I think? It would be awesome, but I only say that because you're my fiance'. I don't want you doing something you won't like just to please me. I know how determined you are, how dedicated."

"Ro," said Kudo, casting glances her way as they went, his eyes showing he was serious about this. "I'm dedicated to my family as much as my career. You're right here, this is a Starfleet facility, so it's not above reason to think on it after knowing my daughter is here, right now, among us. Just know it is something I will consider and when we get back from this mission I may transfer."

Green leaned into him as they walked, smiling at him. "You do what you feel is right for you. Yui and I will support whatever you decide, you know that." They slowed to give each other a quick kiss and not bash teeth. Eventually they arrived at the gangway and she saw him off. Green's heart was heavy and she already missed him as she watched him go. But, like a Samurai wife back in the day, she watched her husband go off to see to his duty and the oaths he had sworn.
