Station: Casual Bliss

Posted on Sun Aug 17th, 2025 @ 10:18pm by Captain Rogue "Ro" Green {Meji Master} {Flt. Cpt.} & Ainkara "Kara" Ski'a {SIS} {SoB}

Mission: Stellar Problems
Location: Club Bliss
Timeline: Current

ON:

Having a calm, pleasant day even as she thought on a return to Dark Harbor, Kara was behind the bar with Manny, placing food dishes on trays and making drinks for the patrons. As it was lunch time for many on the base, civilians included, she and Manny had set up Bliss for a lounge setting and atmosphere. There was house music playing well enough to be heard, but kept at a conversational level so the customers did not have to raise their voices too high to hear each other. It was casual and relaxing instead of the hard hitting Bliss of the night. The kitchen crew were very busy as the room filled up with diner's looking to enjoy good company and good food backed by good music, all of it from Earth, of course. Seeing a few more people coming into the main entryway, Kara spotted Green.

Ro entered Bliss, looking pretty happy, still dressed in her uniform. Cosmo was with her, rolling alongside, as she approached the bar and was careful not to stand in the server slot. They were casually busy with food and drinks. "Hiya, guys," Ro said to Kara and Manny with a big smile. She looked down at Cosmo as they made to answer. "Go do what you said you would, Cozzy." He acknowledged and rolled away.

"Hello, back," said Kara, looking curious as to where Cosmo was rolling off to towards the back of the club. Manny also gave a hello.

Seeing Kara's gaze following Cosmo, Green waved it off. "He's setting something up for me. Which, due to that, I have to ask. Can I entertain the afternoon crowd? Work is all caught up so I feel like singing some casual tunes for atmosphere." Neither Kara nor Manny had a problem with it, but asked her to keep it more mellow. "That's the idea. No worries. Cosmo is setting up ELO as my band, so when he's done I can begin. The first song will set my voice tone." When the little droid came back, Ro went to the stage, taking up an acoustic guitar and tuning it. Once tuned she then set up a mic stand made for singing from a low stool, a mic at the guitar and one for her to sing into when she decided to use it. With the first song she had in mind, Green took up the singing mic to be held, turning it on. "Hello, folks. Hope you're enjoying your food. I'll be singing some songs for your dining pleasure." A light applause went around, no one against music while eating. Kara adjusted the surround sound for live performances, with most of the sound system coming from the stage towards the main room, and cutting the speakers in the main room down to about half. Cosmo was Green's sound man for the music and the band performance. They looked like ELO, the 1970's, but they would be able to play whatever song Ro would be on at the time. SO, Ro began as she stood at stage edge just to the right of her stool set up, the guitar now in a stand next to it. "Here we go."

"We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)"

{OA: Tina Turner}

Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
We are the children
The last generation
We are the ones they left behind

And I wonder when we are ever gonna change
Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The thunderdome

Looking for something
We can rely on
There's got to be something better out there
Love and compassion
That day is coming
All else are castles built in the air

And I wonder when we are ever gonna change
Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains

All the children say
We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The thunderdome

So what do we do with our lives
We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a light
Or end in the dark
Give it all or nothing

[Green moved more to the right, and as the Sax player played some children faded into being around Ro, singing the chorus with her until the end of the song]

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The thunderdome

***

With people eating there was light applause, which is all that was expected, if any. The children around Ro faded out and she went and took her seat on the stool. Taking up the guitar she put her right heel up on the stool foot rest, to rest the guitar body on her thigh, the left foot on the floor. Mic back in place she was set for a bit of fun with the comical choices she had coming. Green had sang Tina Turner because the woman's vocals were amazing. High pitch or low timbre, raspy and rough when needed, and could produce a more masculine sound when singing. Exactly what Ro was looking for. Her vocal chords and apparatus were quite capable of mimicking most voice tones, male or female, due to her genetic manipulation as a Meta-human. So, all set, she began to play some oldies but goodies. Upbeat, fun songs as well as some love songs with the guitar and the holo-ELO backing her up for other instruments. "Y'all ready to have a little fun?" Green asked this, giving a big smile with her tongue tip caught between her teeth, showing how happy she was to sing these songs for them.

"You Don't Mess Around With Jim"

{OA: Jim Croce}

Uptown got its hustlers
The bowery got its bums
42nd Street got Big Jim Walker
He's a pool-shootin' son of a gun
Yeah, he big and dumb as a man can come
But he stronger than a country hoss
And when the bad folks all get together at night
You know they all call big Jim "Boss", just because
And they say

"You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim"

Well outta south Alabama come a country boy
He said, "I'm lookin' for a man named Jim
I am a pool-shootin' boy, my name's Willie McCoy
But down at home they call me Slim
Yeah I'm lookin' for the king of 42nd Street
He drivin' a drop top Cadillac
Last week he took all my money, and it may sound funny
But I come to get my money back"
And everybody say, "Jack don't you know

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim"

Well, a hush fell over the pool room
Jimmy come boppin' in off the street
And when the cuttin' was done
The only part that wasn't bloody
Was the soles of the big man's feet, ooh
And he was cut in about a hundred places
And he was shot in a couple more
And you better believe
They sung a different kind of story
When big Jim hit the floor now, they say

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Slim

Yeah, big Jim got his hat
Find out where it's at
And it's not hustlin' people strange to you
Even if you do got a two-piece custom-made pool cue

Yeah you don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Slim

***

The crowd had been laughing and be-bopping to the folk song, loving every moment of it. Green felt that positive energy so decided to sing another one of a similar bent. 'Glad you liked it. Here we go."

"Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"

{OA: Jim Croce}

Woah!

Well, the South side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Leroy Brown

Now Leroy more than trouble
You see he stand 'bout six foot four
All the downtown ladies call him "Treetop Lover"
All the men just call him "Sir"

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Now Leroy he's a gambler
And he likes his fancy clothes
And he likes to wave his diamond rings
In front of everybody's nose

He got a custom Continental
He got an Eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pocket for fun
He got a razor in his shoe

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
Meaner than a junkyard dog

Now Friday bout a week ago
Leroy shootin' dice
And at the edge of the bar
Sat a girl named Doris
And ooh that girl looked nice

Well he cast his eyes upon her
And the trouble soon began
Cause Leroy Brown, he learned a lesson
'Bout messin' with the wife of a jealous man

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Well the two men took to fightin'
And when they pulled them from the floor
Leroy looked like a jigsaw puzzle
With a couple of pieces gone

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog
Yeah, badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Ro was smiling as she finished, giving a giggle into the mic. "Pride can bring you down, folks. Remember that." She cleared her throat a bit away from the mic, adjusting her vocals. "Okay, we'll slow it down for a few."

Kara had dropped the sonic dampening field over the entrance, but only halfway. Instead of silence outside on the Promenade in the vicinity of Bliss, one could hear it if they were close enough. Nothing like using Ro's performance to bring folks in. It was a performance for her to show off her acoustic skills.

"Operator (That's Not The Way It Feels)"

{OA: Jim Croce}

Operator, well could you help me place this call
See, the number on the match book is old and faded
She's living in L.A
With my best old ex-friend Ray
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

But isn't that the way they say it goes
Well let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell 'em I'm fine, and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words
Could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels

Operator, well could you help me place this call
'Cause I can't read the number that you just gave me
There's something in my eyes
You know it happens every time
I think about the love that I thought would save me

But isn't that the way they say it goes
Well let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell 'em I'm fine, and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words
Could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels
No, no, no, no
That's not the way it feels

Operator, well let's forget about this call
There's no one there I really wanted to talk to
Thank you for your time
Ah, you've been so much more than kind
You can keep the dime

But isn't that the way they say it goes
Well let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell 'em I'm fine, and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words
Could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels

As green played the final notes she saw that more diner's were coming in, with others leaving. The applause was good, with the room enjoying Captain Green, the lounge entertainer. She sent good feelings to Yui and hoped this all would plant a love for music in her daughter, too. "This next one is for those who are proud of who they are because of where they come from. Here's to us."

"I Got A Name"

{OA: Jim Croce}

Like the pine trees lining the winding road
I've got a name, I've got a name
Like the singing bird and the croaking toad
I've got a name, I've got a name

And I carry it with me like my daddy did
But I'm livin' the dream
That he kept hid

Movin' me down the highway
Rollin' me down the highway
Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by

Like the north wind whistlin' down the sky
I've got a song, I've got a song
Like the whip-poor-will and the baby's cry
I've got a song, I've got a song

And I carry it with me and I sing it loud
If it gets me nowhere
I'll go there proud

Movin' me down the highway
Rollin' me down the highway
Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by

And I'm gonna go there free

Like the fool, I am, and I'll always be
I've got a dream, I've got a dream
They can change their minds, but they can't change me
I've got a dream, I've got a dream

Oh, I know I could share it if you want me to
If you're goin' my way
I'll go with you

Movin' me down the highway
Rollin' me down the highway
Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by
Movin' me down the highway
Rollin' me down the highway
Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by

Last notes strummed and then ended, with a hardier applause that was kept on the downlow so as not to disrupt the ambience for others who were eating. "Okay." Said green, taking up the guitar and its stand as she moved them out of the way. Next, she grabbed the mic stand and carried it away, taking up the hand mic as she did so and returning to stage front center. This first song by a particular artist would set up for the rest she had planned, with another instrument at her fingertips; literally. An ivory colored grand piano appeared behind her in the middle of the stage, with a mic setup already over the keys where she would be sitting. "I'll sing this one first to set the stage for the piano, and to tell a little story about myself. Enjoy." Cosmo started the music and Green performed, walking back and forth along the front of the stage.

"I'm Still Standing"

{OA: Elton John}

You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use

And did you think this fool could never win?
Well, look at me, I'm a-coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I'm still standing you just fade away

Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did?
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
And I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

Once I never could've hoped to win
You're starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now

You know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

Don't you know that I'm still standing better than I ever did?
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
And I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

That song over, Ro turned the hand mic off and put it aside as she went and sat at the piano. That was when she caught sight of Kehlani and Higan sitting at the center buddy bar at the edge of the dance floor, and the little guy was full on devouring a hamburger. As she adjusted her tush that made Green smile to herself. Kehlani, ever the Klingon to bring culture to her people, was now seeing to her son getting a dose. It as good to see. Perhaps Higan and Yui would become friends and keep their mothers on their toes. "Alright, piano time. Hope y'all enjoy." Ro began to play and sing, occasionally looking at the crowd as she did so with each song she played.

"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"

{OA: Elton John}

When are you gonna come down?
When are you going to land?
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man
You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues

Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah

So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny-back toad
Oh, I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah

What do you think you'll do, then?
I bet they'll shoot down the plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah

So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny-back toad
Oh, I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah

As the room applauded, Ro began to play the piano for the next one.

"Bennie And The Jets"

{OA: Elton John}

Hey, kids, shake it loose together
The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound

Say, Candy and Ronnie. Have you seen them yet?
Ooh, but they're so spaced out
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Oh, but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh, Bennie. She's really keen
She's got electric boots, a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine, oh
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets

Hey, kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong

Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet?
Ooh, but they're so spaced out
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Oh, but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh, Bennie. She's really keen
She's got electric boots, a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets

Oh, Candy and Ronnie. Have you seen them yet?
Ooh, but they're so spaced out
B-B-B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Oh, but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh, Bennie. She's really keen
She's got electric boots, a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets

Bennie, Bennie and the Jets
Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the Jets
Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the Jets
Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the Jets
Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the Jets, the Jets, the Jets
Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the Jets

The next song picked up the tempo.

"Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting"

{OA: Elton John}

It's getting late, have you seen my mates?
Ma, tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I wanna rock
Wanna get a belly full of beer
My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady, she don't care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair

Oh, don't give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Oh, Saturday night's alright for fighting
Get a little action in
Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
'Cause Saturday night's the night I like
Saturday night's alright, alright, alright, ooh

Well, they're packed pretty tight in here tonight
I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right
I may use a little muscle to get what I need
I may sink a little drink and shout out, "She's with me!"
A couple of the sounds that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass

Oh, don't give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night's alright for fighting
Get a little action in
Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
'Cause Saturday night's the night I like
Saturday night's alright, alright, alright, ooh

Oh, don't give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
'Cause Saturday night's alright for fighting
Get a little action in
Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
'Cause Saturday night's the night I like
Saturday night's alright, alright, alright, ooh

Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday night's alright
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday night's alright
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday night's alright, whoo

"I had to throw one in that was all about me. Pardon that, but here we go." Ro started playing along with the band. Cosmo really was a good sound guy.

"The Bitch Is Back"

{OA: Elton John}

I was justified when I was five
Raising Cain, I spit in your eye
Times are changing, now the poor get fat
But the fever's gonna catch you when the bitch gets back (oh)

Eat meat on Friday, that's alright
I even like steak on a Saturday night
I can bitch the best at your social do's
I get high in the evening sniffing pots of glue, ooh

I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch, oh, the bitch is back
Stone-cold sober, as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch 'cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move, the things that I do, oh

I entertain by picking brains
Sell my soul by dropping names
I don't like those, my God, what's that?
Oh, it's full of nasty habits when the bitch gets back (oh)

I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch, oh, the bitch is back
Stone-cold sober, as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch 'cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move, the things that I do, oh
(Oh)

I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch, oh, the bitch is back
Stone-cold sober, as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch 'cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move, the things that I do, oh

Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back
Bitch, bitch, bitch is back

There was a good round of applause since most of the crowd were now sitting around just for the live music. Those who had to go back to duty had already done so. Green figured a slower tempo would be ideal again, or songs more about life, love, and other matters. Time to just roll through the next few. This was not an audience participation act, just a lounge singing experience.

"I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues"

{OA: Elton John}

Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me I could honestly say
That things can only get better

And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide

And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues

Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man

Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself

And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues

Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself

And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues

And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Laughing like children, living like lovers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Laughing like children, living like lovers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
And I guess that's why they call it the blues

"Sad Songs (Say So Much)"

{OA: Elton John}

Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironin' out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio
'Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know

Turn 'em on, turn 'em on
Turn on those sad songs
When all hope is gone (ah...)
Why don't you tune in and turn them on?
They reach into your room, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle touch)
When all hope is gone (ooh)
Sad songs say so much

If someone else is sufferin' enough, oh, to write it down
When every single word makes sense
Then it's easier to have those songs around
The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you
And it feels so good to hurt so bad
And suffer just enough to sing the blues

So turn 'em on, turn 'em on
Turn on those sad songs
When all hope is gone (ah...)
Why don't you tune in and turn them on?
They reach into your room, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle touch)
When all hope is gone (ooh...)
You know sad songs say so much

Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say (ah...)
Sad songs, they say so much

So turn 'em on (turn 'em on), oh, turn 'em on (turn 'em on)
Turn on those sad songs (sad songs)
When all hope is gone (ah...)
Why don't you tune in and turn them on?
They reach into your room, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle touch)
When all hope is gone (ooh...)
You know sad songs say so much

When all hope is gone
You know sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)
When every little bit of hope is gone
Sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)
When every little bit of hope is gone
Sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)
When all hope is gone
Sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)
When every little bit of hope is gone
Sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)
When everything you do is goin' wrong
Sad songs say so much (ooh, la, la-la, ooh, la, la-la)

This was going to be her last song, but with the grown crowd enjoying the lounge experience, Ro decided to do a few more.

"Your Song"
("Elton John" Version)

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money, but, boy, if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, heh, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song, and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do
You see, I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Time for more positive.

"Tiny Dancer"

{OA: Elton John}

Blue-jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty-eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must've seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back, she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad

Piano man, he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on, she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums

But, oh, how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly

Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

Blue-jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty-eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must've seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Oh, how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly

Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Ooh

She had one more in her and then Ro would sit and visit with Kara and Manny. Starting the song with the opening music, she was surprised how many Humans in audience clapped for it, obviously having heard it before. It was still popular to this day.

"Rocket Man (I Think It's Going To Be A Long, Long Time)"

{OA: Elton John}

She packed my bags last night, pre-flight
Zero hour: 9:00 AM
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man!
Burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man!
Burning out his fuse up here alone

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all the science, I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man
A rocket man

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man!
Burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man!
Burning out his fuse up here alone

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time

Once finished playing, Ro stood up, faced the crowd and bowed at the waist. They could see her saying thank you as she waved and left the stage, with the piano and band fading out and the stage lights going down. She shook some hands that were along her path back to the bar, smiling and wishing everyone in ear shot a good day. Once at the bar she sat down in a high-backed stool and smiled at the two owners. "Hope that helped," she said with a giggle.

"Oh yeah," Kara said. "Also, I recorded the whole thing from different angles. I'll edit it down to a music video performance and then have it play on the screens as house music. You want a copy?"

"Hell yes," Green said with a smile. "I'll send it to Ken and he can share it with Capernum. Ah," she feigned swooning and laying a hand on her chest. "I'll be a star!" Then she laughed along with the other two. As was her habit as she sat and chatted, or had alone time, one of Ro's hand was on her abdomen. It had become far more regular now that Yui was curled up within her.

OFF:

OOC: Apologies, y'all. I love music, as you know. Just a bunch of fun songs from back when music had heart and meaning, looking to brighten people's day. Peace.
