"Black Alert" Devroe called out "Mr. Hanes, take us Home" as the Peel broke orbit and jumped into slipstream heading for Star Base M-69.
"Aye Commander, with pleasure" Hanes replied glad to be going home.

< Peel Bridge >
As the Ship was streaking through space O'Connell tapped his chair comm "Lieutenant D'Nall how's the QSD holding up; any concerns" he inquired.
"D'Nall here. Captain the QSD is holding it's own" then he paused "I would however not push it past the three and a half mark until we return to Base and I can do some level one diagnostics Sir."
"Understood Lieutenant but that should get us back fairly close to home anyway" O'Connell replied "Helm set your timer for three hours.....at that point drop us out pf slipstream and put our speed at warp eight."
"As you wish Captain. In three hours we'll drop out of slipstream and proceed at warp eight" Jack replied making sure he had the orders correct.
"Commander you have the Conn...I'll be in my Office writing up a report to send to Admiral Stone" Jamie stated as he rose from his chair.
"As you wish Captain" Angel replied then moved to the big chair.
< Ready Room >
Walking into his Office Jamie grabbed a water from the replicator then sat at his desk relaxing for a moment as he let out a long sigh "Another successful Mission with a great Crew" he thought to himself "I guess I better get busy this report isn't going to write itself." Activating his Terminal, with his security code, Jamie set to work going into detail concerning the just concluded Mission. When finished he looked it over then sent it on to Admiral Stone and the Fleet Captain Rogue Green.
Now there was something that needed to be done as he tapped his comm "Lieutenant Flannery please report to my Office" Jamie ordered.
Hearing the summons "On my way Captain" then Marcus headed for the Lift thinking "Now what did I do wrong." Exiting the Lift he made his way to the Ready Room. Seeing the door open he knocked on the doorjamb "You wanted to see me Captain" he inquired.
Looking up "Yes please come in Lieutenant and make yourself comfortable" O'Connell ordered as Marcus sat feeling a little uneasy at the moment. "Relax Mr. Flannery there is something I want to discuss with you."
"Ok.....nothing bad I hope" Marcus replied.
Jamie grinned "Quite the opposite Marcus" then he paused a moment "Ever since we lost our Engineering Chief you have done an exemplary job in Engineering keeping everything running smoothly and I thank you for that. Now to the matter at hand; since you are doing such a fine job I have decided to make the title permanent. So as of now you are the Chief of Engineering and not just Acting. O'Connell stated with a smile.
Marcus was blown away not only by the Captain's accolades but also receiving the job permanently "Thank you Captain this certainly comes as a surprise" then he paused a moment "Believe me when I say, you won't regret this Captain; I will continue to do my best."
"I should hope not" Jamie replied with a light chuckle "So let's make it official. Computer, crew update: Lieutenant, Flannery, Marcus is hereby given the duties of Chief Engineering Officer on a permanent basis this day forward as per Captain, O'Connell, Jamie, R security clearance Alpha, Gamma, Zulu, Two." Looking to Marcus "It's official Lieutenant Flannery. You're dismissed.
Standing "Thanks again Captain" then he turned and went back to Engineering with a little more pep in his step.

Walking back onto the Bridge "Commander report" O'Connell ordered as he approached the conn. Vacating the big chair "Nothing new to report Sir" Devroe replied then sat in her usual seat.
About an hour later O'Connell turned to Devroe "There's a couple more things I need to attend to, so you have the conn once again; I'll be in my ready room" then turning to Sarissa "If I may have a word Counselor" as he stood.
“Of course Captain” Sarissa smiled warmly as she stood to follow O’Connell to his ready room.
Before moving to the command chair Angel wanted to check on her Science Chief as she walked over to him and in a low voice "Lieutenant Sayvek, how are you feeling; I know you had some.....shall we say....side effects from the first jump to slipstream" she inquired with a smile.
" I am no longer having the motion sickness. As for feeling, I am a Vulcan and we adapt. But thank you for asking." Sayvek replied.
"That's very good to hear; after all we can't have our Science Chief feeling ill" Angel replied with a smirk before returning to command.
< Ready Room >
Walking into his Office Jamie turned "Sarissa please have a seat and make yourself comfortable; would you like something to drink" Jamie inquired with a smile.
“Ohh no, I’m fine thank you Sir” Sarissa smiled warmly as she took a seat.
Taking his seat behind the desk "I wanted you to know what a fine job you're doing taking care of both the medical and mental needs of the Crew; I really do appreciate all the hard work you've been doing" Jamie stated.
Sarissa couldn’t help but smile, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment for a moment. “Thank you Captain.”
The reason for our chat I wanted you to know with Commander Devroe commanding the Genesis from time to time, I've decided to ask Lieutenant SanChez to be my Second Officer. If she accepts then she will fill the void when the Commander is aboard the Genesis. However I still want to put you at command from time to time to give you the experience in case something catastrophic should occur and you find yourself one of the few Senior officers left and need to take command of the Ship. All this being said I didn't want you to feel left out of the command loop" Jamie concluded with a smile.
“I appreciate that Captain, I do want to learn just incase. My dual role here puts me in a unique position compared to most.” Sarissa offered.
With a grin "Yes it does and that duel role can only serve you well in a catastrophic situation" O'Connell stated "You are dismissed." as Jamie rose from his seat to grab something off the round table and Sarissa returned to the Bridge.

Science officer Sayvek was manning his post and immediately detected a unique phenomenon from stern. Looking to Tactical he then called out
" What are you experiencing in readings?"
Just as Sayvek inquired SanChez saw something come up on her screen "I'm not entirely sure Lieutenant.....it seems to be natural but we are traveling too fast to get an accurate reading" Maria replied then turned towards command "Commander something interesting has popped up on both Science and Tactical screens; may I suggest we drop out of slipstream to get better readings."
Hearing the request "Helm drop us out of slipstream.....when we decelerated enough go to full impulse" Devroe ordered then taped her Comm "Captain O'Connell please come to the Bridge" as she vacated the center seat.
"As you wish Commander.....dropping out of slipstream now" as you could feel the Ship starting to slow down. Several minutes later "Going to full impulse Commander" Ensign Hanes informed command.
As the ship slipped back into normal space Sayvek scanned again and then reported.
" I am no longer scanning anything on short or long range sensors. I am perplexed. " Sayvek reported.
