Mission: The Inner Flame
Location: Starbase M-69 Sickbay
Timeline: Concurrent

Security found the limp body of the new Saurian Moral Officer on the ground and immediately had him beamed to sickbay. He had been stabbed by an ancient Romulan knife.

2nd Lieutenant John Dallas stayed right with T'Vorissh as they placed him on the bio bed.

" Doc we have a bleeding man in here." John yelled.

Hearing the 2nd Lieutenant, Williams hustled over seeing a reptilian like being lying on a bio-bed covered in blood. Taking his scanning device he ran it over the injured area then looking up at John "This man needs surgery immediately " he stated then tapped his comm "Doctor Daniels and Lieutenant Stone meet me in O.R. 1 stat" came the order then looking back to John "Help me wheel this man into the O.R."

John helped but then exited as the Saurian male was laid before the Doctor.

Nurse Stone and Dr. Daniels walked into the O.R. ready to lend a hand "This poor soul was badly stabbed by who knows what; I have never seen a cut like that before" Williams commented getting ready to try and put this being back together.

Dr. Daniels looked at the wound "Doctor that looks like it came from an old style Romulan knife or dagger; I've only seen that type of injury once before" he commented.

"What would someone be doing with a weapon like that" Nurse Stone spoke up quite surprised.

"Either way we have to get this being repaired as soon as possible" Williams replied. The three spent the next two hours repairing the wounds of the Priest and finally finished "Put him in ICU and let's monitor him around the clock until he hopefully regains consciousness" came the order "Nurse please administer antibiotics so he does not contract an infection."

"As you wish Doctor Williams" Stone answered as she and Ramvek wheeled the Priest into he ICU. Walking over to the ICU Nurse, Heidi went over the proceedure alone with instructions from Williams "Understood Lieutenant Stone; we'll take good care of him" the Nurse stated.

Doctor Williams walked towards his Office when he saw the 2nd Lieutenant waiting in Sick Bay "Mr. Dallas we managed to repair the internals of the Priest and he will be in the ICU for awhile until he comes to. The next few hours will be critical so I am hoping he pulls through" he explained.

" Me too Doc. When your father in law says guard this man you move. We have the knife that was used to stab him. It's an ancient Romulan style weapon. Ironically it has the Priests blood on it and the some old blood residue."

Thinking a moment "Alert Security and see if they get any DNA off the handle. Maybe they will get lucky and locate whoever tried to take his life" Williams suggested.

" I did sir. It is 95% match to Lt Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers. Our Chief of Operations. The only problem with that is she was on duty at Ops when the attack. occured." John replied.

"Obviously the Lieutenant can not be in two places at once" Williams pointed out "Sounds to me she may have an enemy aboard trying to frame her for the incident" then he paused "While a 95% match is certainly compelling it is by no means definitive or proves guilt."

" Doc the Saurian is moving around in there." John pointed.

Turning he saw the Priest moving around as the ICU Nurse motioned for him over. Walking in "How are you feeling" Doctor Williams inquired of his patient.

" Doctor....I need to speak to the Commodore. " T'Vorissh called out."

"Very well" as Williams tapped his comm "Commodore Sureth please come to Sick Bay as soon as possible" he stated wondering why T'Vorissh was so insistent.

[ I can not come at this time Doctor. I have a Reman warships threatening to blow us up.] Sureth replied.

T'Vorissh then spoke. " Commodore the Remans have repaired their cloning program. My assistant fooled me and stabbed me. She is a clone as is the Romulan Commander Terrh. They just found out. Terrh is trying to save his daughter Selexa. The Remans are just trying to retrieve them both."

[ I see. Ingenious plan. I will be down once I have exhausted this stand off Sureth out.]

Looking at his patient "I am sure the Commodore will be along when he can but right now you need to rest and let your body heal itself" Doctor Williams strongly suggested.

T'Vorissh sat up despite the pain. He hissed to moan and then stood. Blood stained his robe but he walked towards Williams.

" This is my fault. I saw a light in my aide. She fooled me but I believe she is good. The Remans manipulated her." T'Vorissh declared.

"Easy there! That is a conundrum that can be figured out later but right now you need to get back in bed and allow your body to heal itself" Williams stated rather sternly "Do not undo the work that we have done to save your life."

" My life is but a flame in the fire of the Universe greater healer. You too show a great light Doctor. Please inform the Commodore that Seroxa can be saved." T'Vorissh replies.

"Thank you and I will inform the Commodore concerning Seroxa" Williams replied "Now please relax and get some rest."

The Saurian complied but ached as he got back into the bed.

" Doctor I am.going to go help out in the brig. Security found the other clone and they are taking her to the brig." John Dallas stated

"That certainly explains a lot about what has been going on here" Williams commented with some relief "Take care of business Lieutenant and we'll see to Mr. T'Vorissh."

" The girl only acts like a spy because they trained her to do so. In her heart she longs to be free." T'Vorissh lowly whispered.

[ Ops to Sickbay. I need a medical officer to extract a blood sample please for comparison. The patients are now in the brig. ] Sureth then call down.

"Understood Commodore, I send Lieutenant Johnson to take the samples" Williams replied.

[ Acknowledged. ]

< BRIG>
The stations jail was full today as the three Romulans filled one side and the host of others on the right. John Dallas took the watch for the Romulans and security had dispatched Lt Foxx for the rest.

" Doctor John the Commodore needs a full comparison to Dad there and Daughter. Are they genetically related?" John directed.

Open his Med Bag "I'll let you know as soon as I extract the samples " John replied then extracted a sample from each, being somewhat cautious around the Romulans. When finished he plugged first one blood sample then the other into his Tri-corder. Looking at the screen for a few moments before looking up "Yes they are genetically related but she has an extra marker in hers.....she is definitely a clone and not the original" John stated with certainty.

" Look humans we know we are clones. The question is why did they clone us?" Commander Terrh asked from his cell. " I found out about this but by the time I did Seroxa had left with the lizard man. I thought she was one of the Remans."

Seroxa at first said nothing but then she did.
" I put my blood on the dagger too. I wanted all of this to come out. I am not a sympathiser. I don't know what I am but I am not on their side for sure."

" That will be determined. Fir now you are guests of Starbase M-69. " John replied.
