Peel New Orders

Mission: SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: S/M: A New Hope
Timeline: Stardate: 79764.1

S/M: Synopsis: The Peel has been ordered back to the Beta Quadrant. There’s a recently completed Deep Space Colony Habitat in the Mutara Sector situated near the Mutara Nebula. Takara, a small planet just outside the Alpha Quadrant, is dying. Their Government and Scientists have established a deep space colony naming it ‘New Hope Colony’ in an effort to preserve their race. Due to the urgency of the build the Colonial Governor realizes some of his Staff haven’t been trained as well as he had been led to believe. The Peel’s mission is to facilitate more training to help close the gap; as well as circumvent any potential problems.


::ON::

~Ready Room~

Captain O'Connell sat at his desk sipping a cup of coffee while setting up an outline of their previous mission . When finished he sent it off to the new Command Yeoman Chief Petty Officer Yesrin Jen for her to flesh out and send it along to Admiral Stone; this was much easier of a process and would afford Jamie with more time to be.....well a captain.

Moments later his comm went off "O'Connell, go ahead."

"Captain, Admiral Stone needs to speak to you Sir" Communications informed him.

"Send it my Office if you would please." Minutes later "Admiral Stone I assume you have new orders for us" O'Connell inquired.

"You would assume correctly Captain" Stone replied with a grin "We're sending you back to the Beat Quadrant, Mutara Sector. There's a new deep space habitat located at the Mutara Nebula. The installation was completed six months ago and rather quickly I might add.....their home planet of Takara is dying so that's the reason for the rush. Their staff are in need of more training in pretty much all areas and that's where you come in. I would highly suggest, due to your small Crew, to borrow a few Medical people from M-69 if you can. There's no rush so take a couple of days to get things in order before you leave."

After hearing the mission Jamie sat back in his chair thinking for a moment before inquiring "So is the Habitat itself working properly or is that going to be an issue as well."

"The Colonial Governor didn't mention anything about the Habitat not working properly but I certainly wouldn't rule it out" Aaron replied "Spend whatever time there you feel's adequate; let me know when you're ready to depart in case I'm in need of your ship and crew elsewhere."

"Sounds good Admiral and we'll try to get everything ready to depart in the next couple of days" Jamie answered as a hundred things was going through his mind.

"Excellent Captain and I look forward to your report" Stone stated.

"Speaking of reports, we now have a Command Yeoman so she'll be sending all the reports from now on" Jamie informed the Admiral.

"Good, that'll should free you up to be captain instead of writing reports; good move on your part. I should be going and have safe travels. Stone out" then the screen went back to the UFP logo.

Thinking a few minutes Jamie thought he may as well get things started "Communications I need to speak with Doctor Ramvek Williams on the Base" he ordered.

"Certainly Captain, this will take a few minutes then I'll send it to your Office" Communications replied was he started the process.

Several minutes later Jamie saw a familiar face appear on his screen "Doctor Williams nice to see you again."

[Captain O'Connell likewise. What can I do for you] the Doctor inquired curious as to the nature of a call from a ship's Captain.

"We just received new orders to help with the training of the staff on a deep space habitat. Admiral Stone suggested borrowing a couple of your Medical Staff to come along and help out since of Medical Department is rather small. Unfortunately we may be away for a few weeks to get those people up to speed" O'Connell explained.

[I do have a person in mind in mind that would fit your requirements nicely and unfortunately I can only spare one of my Staff with trying to get the new Medical Operations setup and running. Tell you what give me a few minutes and I will get back to you with the name of the person I'm sending] Williams replied more than happy to help out.

"Fair enough Doctor Williams....I look forward to your call back. O'Connell out.

Minutes later Williams called back [Captain I'm sending you Lieutenant J.G. Heidi Stone.....she is my Head Nurse and an excellent trainer; I apologize for not being able to send you more help. So when do you want her to come aboard.]

"That's quite alright.....I'll take what I can get. Have Lieutenant Stone pack enough for about three weeks and she can beam aboard anytime today; here's the coordinates" O'Connell replied with a smile "Have her report to Chief Petty Officer Yesrin Jen; she has an Office just off the Bridge and we'll have quarters all ready for her."

"Good; I will relay the message. Well duty calls Captain and I am looking forward to her stories about the experience upon her return. Keep her safe Captain....Williams out."

~Bridge~

While waiting for Lieutenant Stone's arrival O'Connell walked back to Command "Lieutenant SanChez report" he ordered with a smile as Maria rose from the center chair so Jamie could be seated.

"Captain we're at station keeping awaiting you orders Sir" Maria replied just itching for a new mission.

Jamie grinned "You won't have to wait much longer. We're waiting on a guest's arrival from the Base for this mission so as soon as she beams aboard we'll get underway" the Captain explained.

"Sounds good to me Sir; I'm getting sort of bored with the off duty days" SanChez replied with a slight chuckle.

Tapping his chair comm "Attention Crew, this is O'Connell, please get your departments ready for departure which will be hopefully fairly soon; we're just waiting on a guest that will be accompanying us. O'Connell out."

~Later That Day~

As Captain O'Connell was sitting at command approving some reports CPO Jen had sent him, his comm went off "O'Connell go ahead."

"Captain Lieutenant Stone is ready to beam aboard Sir" the Transporter Room informed him.

"I'll be right there" he replied then turned to Maria "Lieutenant you have the conn while I go greet our guest" he ordered as he roe from his seat and headed to the Lift.

~Transporter Room 1~

O'Connell arrived just as Heidi was beaming aboard. Heidi stepped off the pad with her duffle over her shoulder. Smiling "Lieutenant Stone welcome to the Peel, it's nice to have you along for this mission" Jamie stated.

"Thank you Captain O'Connell, I'm looking forward to a change in routine" Lieutenant Stone replied returning the smile.

"If I may" Jamie stated as her held out his hand for her duffel.

"Thank you Sir, that's very gracious of you. If I may inquire, where are my quarter going to be" Heidi inquired after handing the Captain her duffel.

"Please come with me to the Bridge and I'll take you the the Command Yeoman's Office where she has everything all set for you" O'Connell suggested. Receiving a nod from Heidi the two Officers were headed for the Lift.

~Deck 1~

Entering Yesrin's Office Jamie made the introductions "Lieutenant Stone this is Chief Petty Officer Yesrin Jen.....CPO Jen may I present Lieutenant Heidi Stone Head Nurse from the Starbase. I'll let you two get acquainted" as he turned and headed back to Command.

Yesrin offered her hand "Lieutenant Stone welcome and it's very nice to meet you" Yesrin commented with a smile.

"Thank you CPO Jen; I'm looking forward to this adventure" Heidi replied while shaking hands.

Reaching across her desk Yesrin grabbed a PaDD then handed it to Heidi "This is your PaDD with a complete map of the Peel, not that it's all that big, and your room assignment."

Taking the PaDD "Thanks, I should be able to find my way around here" she replied with a grin.

"Please come with me and I'll take you to your quarters and make sure you have everything you need" Yesrin replied with a smile.

"Oh.....that's very kind of you to do this" Heidi answered impressed with the personnel so far.

~Stone's Quarters~

Arriving, after chatting along the way, Yesrin keyed in the security code then the door swooshed open "After you Lieutenant" Yesrin stated with a hand gesture.

Heidi walked in setting her bag on the couch while looking around ten turning "Thank you for the escort.....these quarters are really nice" then she paused a moment "I have to say how impressed I am with how nice all of you have been."

"You're welcome. With a small crew of under seventy we've pretty much become family and that starts with Captain O'Connell" Yesrin replied.

"Yes, now that you've mentioned it I can see the effect; the Captain seems very nice and caring" Heidi commented.

"He is. I let you get settled and maybe you'd consider joining me for dinner in the Mess Hall, say about eighteen hundred" Yesrin inquired with a smile.

Thinking a moment "Thank you, I'd love to" Heidi answered with a smile still being quite impressed.

Turning Yesrin left the quarters and returned to Deck 1.
