Station Post # 17 Holiday part 2

It had seemed like forever since Isabelle has been put into quarantine, her clothing had been taken to be disposed of and she’d been through sonic decontamination. Now she sat on a biobed in a medical gown wondering if she’d ever get to see her family again, not to mention what would happen to her unborn baby.

Both Sureth and John had been made aware and communication was available via com badge.

Isabelle was only glad for the life line of being able to talk to her father and husband. She tapped the covered comm badge.

[ Father, John, are you there?]

[ I'm here sweetness, so is you Dad. Are you okay?] John asked. Sureth moved closer to listen.

Isabelle wiped away an emotional tear as she heard John's voice. [ I wish I knew Imzadi, I'm not feeling as good as I was earlier. I'm not giving up hope though, I'm going to fight whatever this is.]

Doctor Williams was finishing up with another patient when Nurse Salazar walked over "Excuse me Doctor Williams, I wanted to let you know the other officer from your Base has been in contact with a contagious person and has been put in quarantine" she explained.

Williams looked up not liking what he was hearing "That is not good news; she happens to be with child at the moment" he replied "I need to go to her since she is under my care on the Base."

"Understood Doctor and please feel free to spend as much time as you need to with her" Salazar commented with some concern

Doctor Williams suited up and entered the quarantine area looking around for her; seeing Isabelle Ramvek walked over "Trying to get out of working I see" he commented with a grin "How are you feeling currently?"

Isabelle gave Ramvek a smile. “To be honest, not that brilliant. I’ve got a headache, and a sore throat too, it started about ten minutes ago.” She sighed. “I don’t suppose this is just some super cold or something? One that’s easily curable.”

"Let me have a look at you" Williams commented as Isabelle lay back on the Bio-bed. Grabbing the same scanner used as before Ramvek went over her body slowly watching the Monitor the entire time "It looks like you have contracted what everyone else has" then he paused a moment "We have not heard of any of these cases presenting themselves on Vulcan; so that side of your physiology is protecting you and your unborn baby. As soon as the Specialist arrives I will see what he/she comes with for a cure then I will adjust it accordingly. I have already made known that I am your Doctor and you are my Patient so anything concerning you has to go through me first; we do not want any mistakes" Ramvek explained with a smile.

"Indeed we don't" Isabelle offered a smile. "I would really like to be able to get out of here, and enjoy our holiday Ramvek. I don't want to be in here."

"Patience Isabelle, as soon as the Specialist arrives I'll see what their intentions are as far as medications then we'll go from there" Williams explained already thinking in the back of his mind if nothing concrete happens then he would take matters into his own hands; failure was not an option.

Isabelle nodded. "You said my baby is being protected by my physiology? I certainly hope so, I don't want anything to happen."

As they spoke a white hooded person entered Rooms and later exited only to do so again and again. Isabella would be the last visited.

As the cloaked being donned the necessary ppe two others joined.

" Your will not be injured Lieutenant. " said the strong male voice.

"I'd appreciate you telling me what's going on?" Isabelle looked at Ramvek, she was a little perturbed by the sudden arrivals.

Doctor Williams chimed in "Gentleman, I am Doctor Ramvek Williams the CMO of Star Base M-69 and this women is from the Base as well and she is my Patient. Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain to me what is going on here" he stated matter of factly thinking something was not right with this situation.

" Doctor Williams your colleague had a minor exposure to a highly radioactive isotope. She will be treated with hyronilin and released. The child is protected from this exposure but mother will need extra hydration," the hooded Vulcan Doctor replied.

Ramvek nodded to the Doctor "Thank you Sir, that is good to know and a relief. The medication should work well and not have any effects on the baby. I will see to it personally that the Lieutenant stays extra hydrated as well" he replied looking at Isabelle.

Isabelle breathed a sigh of relief to know she wasn't exposed to anything lethally contagious. "I always thought radiation was a danger to pregnancies?" She looked at Ramvek curiously.

Williams smiled "It would be if you were Human; but being Vulcan and Betazoid the risk is almost nonexistent" then he paused "Also your exposure was minimal at best. We'll have you out of here in no time and once back aboard the Shuttle I would highly recommend drinking plenty of water; that will help flush anything out of your system.....if you get my drift" he concluded.

Isabelle nodded. "Of course, you may have to remind me from time to time though, I'm not usually one for drinking that much. I just tend to get a drink when I'm thirsty." she offered a smile.

Moving on the next Patient two cubicles down was not so lucky as a crash cart was called in.

== Aboard the Vulcan Ship ==

Sureth received a hail from the recovery efforts, not from Isabella or Williams but from a high ranking medical officer.

[ Greetings Sureth.]

[ Greetings to you Thon. By this call am I to assume this is in reference to the attack?" Sureth asked.

[ Indeed but not directly. I treated your daughter. She received exposure to an almost lethal radiation dose. It was minimal and she received hironalyn. ]

" Of course. Thank you for the information." Sureth replied.
[ Unnecessary as it is my job. ] replied Thon.
