Mission: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT 10/25
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Concurrent

Having heard rumours that Hiri had returned to the station Isabelle made her way to Sickbay to drop in and say hello. At seven months pregnant she had given up on wearing her uniform, and was instead wearing a maternity dress that was more suitable and comfortable.

“Hello Counsellor” The nurse that greeted her smiled warmly.

“Is Doctor Hiri available?” Isabelle smiled. “Nothing wrong I just wanted to say hello.”

“I’ll go and see” The young woman smiled warmly before heading to find Hiri. “Excuse me Doctor” she gave Hiri a polite smile. “Counsellor Veran-Dallas would like to see you.”

Hiri paused her work on a wounded civilian and quickly ran to her friend to get a hug. The nurse assisting completed the epidermal closure of the wound.

" I was hoping to see you Isabella. We are at a cease fire so I came home only to find home in this shape. Hows it going? Tell me everything.”

“Everything could be a tall order” Isabelle smiled. “Would you mind if we sit down first? My back hates me these days, and the swollen ankles don’t help either.”

Hiri did more as she led Isabella over to a bio bed. The bed cane to life and started revealing numerous readings. Hiri then massaged Isabella's feet and looked at her with a smile.
" I think I came back at the right time."

“I didn’t come for a check up but the massage is appreciated.” Isabelle smiled. “Now where to start…” she began explaining everything that had taken place, filling Hiri in on what she’d missed. “All in all it’s been pretty busy.”

" And we are moving to this planet? Aurelia? Sounds so exciting. Any contractions?" Hiri replied slipping in a medical question.

“We could move there, it would be fun” Isabelle smiled. “Braxton hicks, not yet. I still have a couple of months to go though.” Isabelle nodded answering the question. “I never got to give birth to my son, so it’s going to be a whole new experience when it happens.

" Don’t blame me for trying. So many changes I feel like I have been gone for a year. We have to have a girls night Isabella. Do you think Shauna would come?" Hiri asked

“I would think so” Isabelle nodded. “Why don’t you ask her? It would be fun to have a girls night together.”

" I will. "

“Wonderful” Isabelle smiled warmly. “Ohh before I forget how is Brol? I miss having the Brol on station. My brief time as part Brol gave me a whole new appreciation for plant life, and I seem to have quite the affinity with plants these days.”

" I have not had time to check in with Leaf. I understand he is part of the science team now. I will find him as soon as I can. I am also going to try and reach Captain Callaghan for our ladies night if that's possible." Hiri replied.

Isabelle nodded. “Wonderful. I’ll look forward to that, and to seeing Leaf again as well.”

Hiri was happy to be home even if the station was in peril. Reconnecting was the medicine she needed as well.

" Is John doing better? The War with the Breen was horrible. They fight to the death." Hiri added.

“He's doing better, but it’s going to take time to get over his incarceration. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to be his Counsellor.” Isabelle sighed. “I wish I could be, doesn’t mean we don’t talk about his feelings though.”

" Oh thats right the Vulcan with no personality. I remember him briefly. Well I’m back now and people love to talk to Caitians. They love our purrr. Isabella dont forget our ladies night. As soon as I get to speak to speak with Shauna.

“I won’t forget Hiri that’s a promise” Isabelle offered a smile. “Are you happy with your medical checks?”

" Of course this was just a social call. Isabella I have soo missed you." Hiri purred.

“Likewise” Isabelle smiled moving to give Hiri a brief hug. “Welcome home Hiri.”

Hiri was back and it did feel like home.
