Changing Assignments

Captain O'Connell and Commander Devroe were to meet with Captain Vehn and discuss the change in XO's with Commodore Sureth. Walking into Ops Jamie looked to Angel "Take a good look around....if approved this will be your new domain" he stated "So you sure you want to go through with this meeting?"

Smiling "Yes, I'm quite sure" Angel replied "Actually this seems very exciting and will be a nice change from being on star ships for so many years" then she paused "Unless you've had second thoughts."

"No I'm fine making the switch, although I will miss you terribly, I just wanted to make sure you haven't had second thoughts before it's too late" Jamie replied.

"Thank you for your concern Captain and for the record I'll miss you just as much but sooner or later this was bound to happen" Angel commented.

Before Jamie could respond Shauna walked over as he addressed her "Captain Vehn a pleasure as always. Are we ready for the meeting with Commodore Sureth?"

Shauna nodded. “Most definitely, I never thought I’d see myself back aboard a starship so soon especially as XO, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Jamie grinned "I guess there's only way to find out if this is going to actually happen or not" he commented as the three Officers approached the Commodore's make shift Ready Room; knocking on the door they waited to be recognized.

Sureth had literally just gotten back from the nebula and planet Aurelia and was hardly ready for what was about to enter his office. Sureth had become very fond of Captain Shauna Callaghan and could not even conceive losing her as his Number One.

" Enter." Sureth replied.

Being the Irish gentleman that he was O'Connell gestured for the ladies to enter first then followed "Commodore Sureth thank you for seeing us. We have something we wish to discuss with you Sir" Jamie explained with a smile.

Sureth nodded and extended his hand for them all to sit despite the rooms size.

" Captain O'Connell I trust the Peel is nominal status?"

"Yes Commodore, very much so" O'Connell replied then went on "I'll let Commander Devroe lead off" as he glanced her way with a smile.

Feeling very nervous at the moment Angel collected her thoughts then began "Commodore I would very much like to transfer to the Base, for personal reasons" then she paused a moment "Please understand this has nothing to do with Ship, any of it's Crew, or Captain O'Connell; like I said it's personal reasons" pausing once again "I realize the Base is in a state of flux at the moment but I know I could be an asset to the Base if given the opportunity" she concluded with a smile.

Then Jamie chimed in "Sir the Commander has done an exemplary job at her duties as my First Officer and she has not only my recommendation but my full support" he added then turned to Shauna "Please, go ahead."

Sureth sipped his water and awaited for Shauna to continue.

Shauna offered a warm smile. “Commodore you know how much I’ve enjoyed being here as your First Officer, I have no complaints but between personal loss and being joined, plus other personal reasons, I’ve come to realise that I would like a change.”

" A change? You wish to leave the station or leave Starfleet? You are my most trusted officer Number One. But if you feel you need a change I will grant it." Sureth replied.

“Oh…not Starfleet Sir” Shauna offered. “Just the change to a Starship, being able to get out there amongst the stars again, plus I have personal reasons for my change as well.” She purposely didn’t look toward Jamie, she wasn’t sure Sureth would approve of her moving because she wanted to be with Jamie.

" I see." Sureth replied looking both to Jamie and Angel Devroe. " Granted I hope you find what you are looking for Captain. "

A big smile came across Angel's face "Thank you Commodore and I look forward to working along side you Sir" she stated looking forward to the change in her lifestyle.

"Yes thank you Commodore and as much I hate to see the Commander leave the Peel, I know Captain Vehn will fill the gap quite nicely" O'Connell replied happy for both of the Officers.

" When you get squared away on the station Commander Devroe please reports to Ops. Lieutenant Commander Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers can fill you in on our current status. Shauna I hope you find your answers with Captain O'Connell and the Peel." Sureth replied.

“I have no doubt i will Sir” Shauna smiled and nodded. “Thank you.”

"As you wish Sir" Commander Devroe replied knowing she had some work ahead of her to accomplish in a short amount of time.

Sureth stood up and prepared to exit.
" Well I need to relieve Lieutenant Commander Kah’lyn as she has held the fort together in my absence. Captain O'Connell thank you again for your assistance in getting the needed materials for Captain Kingston. "

"You're welcome Commodore and if you need anything else please done't hesitate" O'Connell replied ready to get back to his ship.
