Mission: THE KINGDOMS COME AND GO
Location: S/M: Answering The Call
Timeline: 78668.6

Sub Mission: Star Base M-69 received a call from an inhabited space-ring type artificial planet called Valdaron in desperate need of help with potentially life threatening problems. The USS Peel has been dispatched to investigate and lend support with fixing any problems before they become critical.

[ Deck 5 ]

The next morning Lieutenant Maria SanChez was on her way to Marine Country to have a meeting with Captain John Hunt, the Marine C.O., as per Captain O'Connell's request.

Maria had frequented that area so often the Marines didn't even give her a second glance as she stated walking by "Good Morning Marines" as her heard sort of a friendly response. Making her way to Hunt's office Maria knocked and waited for recognition out of respect since this was his domain.

Looking up from his padd John smiled "Lieutenant, please come in and make yourself comfortable" as Maria did as requested "So what do I owe the pleasure Maria" he inquired happy for the distraction.

Maria went into detail concerning their impending mission, well as much as she knew presently, bring John up to speed "That's about the gist of things for the time being until we arrive in another three days. The Captain wants the Marines on standby just in case he needs 'boots on the ground' as he put it" she concluded.

Thinking for a moment "Sure whatever we can do to help" then he paused "Of course we'll follow the Captain's orders to the letter" John replied as several things started to go through his mind.

Maria smiled "Should any more information come my way you'll be the second to know. The last thing I would want is for you and your Marines to go Into a situation without the latest info" she stated knowing these people meant more to the Ship than just mere Marines; certainly more to Security.

Hunt returned her smile "And we appreciate that" as he gave a light chuckle "Anything else I should know about" he inquired.

"Not at this time but I'll keep you in the loop" Maria replied then stood "Captain thank you for your time and I'll let you get your people and gear situated."

"Anytime Lieutenant, you're always welcome here" John commented with a smile "I'll walk you out and let the marines know what's going on."

As the Officers walked into the main Marine area Maria looked over seeing Private Anderson looking her way with a smile; they hadn't spent much time together in recent weeks.

[ Deck 4 ]

Lieutenant Yesrin Jen sat at her desk ready to reach out to some of her contacts; the first such person was her go-to person for information. After several minutes Yesrin was on the Intelligence network which was not an easy task having to jump through several hoops, sort to speak, which was done on purpose to keep the riff-raff off the channels.

Another few minutes Yesrin finally was in touch with her primary contact "Stoner....it's Viper (her code name) I'm looking for any intelligence on a place known by Valdaron; it's an artificial planet in the form of a space ring like object. Can you help me out."

"Ya, let me see what I can dig up" then he paused "Of course I might have a little more incentive if I knew who you really were Viper" he replied knowing what the next comment would be from Viper.

"Now you know Stoner I can't tell you that; it would be against Intelligence protocols. But nice try though" Yesrin replied with a grin impressed with this guys tenacity as she could sense Jen saying [Asshole, you know she won't break protocol] which made her laugh knowing how much Jen disliked this individual even though had had never met and probably never would.

"Hey, you can't blame me for trying" as she could hear a laugh coming over the network "I'll contact you tomorrow afternoon and let you know what I dig up" Stoner replied "Stoner out."

"You really don't like this individual do you Jen" she said out loud in a low voice. [Who me? Let's just say if I had a real physical body of my own I would find this individual and kick his or her's ass right across the galaxy if that answers your question.]

Yesrin laughed again "Well old friend I doubt that will ever happen....at least not in my lifetime" she commented then returned to her usual mundane padd work.

< Next Afternoon >

Right after lunch Yesrin returned to her Office when her Intelligence Network Comm went off "Hey Viper, it's Stoner. I managed to dig up some pretty juicy Intel on this Valdaron of yours and I doubt you're going to like it much. I'm uploading and sending it to you now; good luck and be careful should you step foot on that planet" he concluded.

Suddenly the Intel file hit her Screen "Thanks Stoner I owe you one, Viper out" Yesrin stated grinning to herself knowing she owed this individual a lot more than one while closing the network.

Reading the file's contents Yesrin wasn't liking what she was reading "Oh crap, this isn't good. Jen you seeing this?" [ Ya, I'm seeing what you're seeing....and 'oh crap' is an understatement.] Knowing what her next move would be she tapped her comm "Commander Devroe, this is Lieutenant Jen, I have the requested intel...we need to talk as soon as possible" she stated.

Hearing Yesrin Angel replied "I'll meet you in my Office; give me ten and I'll meet you there.Devroe out." Angel finished up what she was doing on Deck 3 then hustled to meet with Yesrin...it sounded important.

[Deck 2]

Captain O'Connell had stopped by his quarters to pick up something when his comm went off "O'Connell here, go ahead."

"Captain a call has just came in for you from M-69 marked personal Sir" the Comms Officer stated.

Thinking for a moment "Patch it through to my quarters" Jamie replied wondering who it could be. "Aye Captain, redirecting your call now."

Jamie sat as his terminal when a familiar face appeared "Doctor Williams, what do I owe the pleasure."

"Captain O'Connell nice to see you again" then he paused "Captain Callaghan asked me to let you know what been going on with her recently" Ramveck stated.

A whole flurry of thoughts immediately went through Jamie's mind "Is the Captain alright....nothing bad has happened to her I hope" being quite concerned.

"Relax Captain, no nothing bad but something quite unusual" as Ramvek went into detail concerning the recent situation "Shauna's doing quite well given the urgency of the situation and we expect the joining to be very successful" then he paused "But it will take some time for her to get used to basically having another mind inside of her."

Jamie let out a slight sigh wishing he could be there but duty had called "That is good news and please let Shauna know that when our current mission is over I will make every effort to come and see how she's doing" then Jamie paused thinking a moment "Doctor just between you and I......if Shauna needs someone to talk to....my Infiltration Specialist happens to be a joined Trill; maybe she could answer any question Shauna may have concerning her new lifestyle."

Thinking for a moment "She will be meeting with our Counselor weekly, or as often as necessary, to make the transition as smooth as possible" then he paused "But I will keep that in mind since it may very well be another option for Shauna and rest assured I will relay your message to her when this call is concluded. I have taken up enough of your time Captain; I know how busy you must be and try not to worry about Captain Callaghan....she's in good hands here" Ramvek concluded.

"Thank you Doctor Williams for letting me know about Shauna and I'm never so busy I can't take the time when it comes to an individual" Jamie stated realizing Doctor Williams really didn't know him at all.

"You are welcome Captain O'Connell, Williams out." Just then Jamie's comm went off again "Captain, Commander Devroe, if you're free could you meet us in my Office. Lieutenant Jen has some intel you may want to hear regarding Valdaron." "On my way Number One" then Jamie left his quarters heading for the XO's office.

{XO's Office}

Commander Devroe walked into her Office grabbing a water then turning seeing Yesrin in the doorway. With a smile "Please Lieutenant, come in and make yourself comfortable. Can I get you anything to drink."

Walking in "Thank you Commander and yes a water would be nice" she replied as she sat with her padd in hand.

Handing Yesrin the water "I asked the Captain to join us, I'm sure he'll want to hear this" Angel replied before sitting at the nearby table where Yesrin was seated.

"Yes, you'll both want to hear what I've found out " she stated as Jamie popped his head in the door "Ladies good afternoon" as he walked in with a smile. Seeing Yesrin starting to move "Lieutenant please remain as you are " he stated then sat looking to Angel since this was her meeting.

"So Lieutenant Jen what did your intelligent sources find out" Commander Devroe inquired eager to hear the report.

Yesrin took a breath as she heard Jen [Relax, you've got this....just tell them what you've found out] as Yesrin felt herself relax somewhat "Captain, Commander it would appear that Valdaron is a peaceful and very cultural planet focusing primarily on self improvement and education of it's inhabitants" then she paused a moment "They seem to have little, if any, in the way of police or military. However from what intelligence that I could gather it would strongly suggest a militant faction within their culture trying to force the government to implement more in the way of control over their people. Unfortunately they don't care what it takes to get their message across to the government" Yesrin concluded knowing she had covered everything.

Angel looked over at Jamie then back to Yesrin "Thank you Lieutenant, you certainly have discovered some vitally important information; at least now we're not going in blind to the current climate of Valdaron" she commented with a smile only to hide her concern for the impending mission.

Jamie spoke up next "Yes Lieutenant, the intelligence you have discovered may very well have saved some lives of our Crew. At least now we can have our guard up and be prepared for anything instead of being caught off guard" he added grateful for this officer.

Yesrin smiled "Thank you both for your confidence in us and our abilities" she replied referring to Jen as well as herself "If you feel the need for any kind of infiltration once we arrive please let me know" she replied.

"It may be necessary to take you up on your offer; of course we won't know until we arrive. At least now we have some idea of what to look for going forward" O'Connell commented "And I should bring Lieutenant SanChez up to speed on this information" as Jamie stood and left for the Bridge.

Now that the Captain had left Angel smiled "Are we still on tonight for drinks in the Lounge, say nineteen hundred" she inquired.

"Yes we are.....and civilian attire for a change I would assume" Yesrin replied returning her smile.

"Absolutely and that sounds fine. If there's nothing else you're dismissed" Angel stated.

Standing "Thank you Commander and I look forward to this evening" Yesrin replied then turned and left the XO's Office.

Even though the news was a little unsettling for Angel, she knew the crew of the Peel would be up for the challenge and would do what was necessary for a successful mission.
